Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru were both stalwarts in Indian national struggle for independence. Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru's father, was an eminent personality in the Indian National Congress and that fascinated young Jawaharlal Nehru to join politics too. He was greatly influenced by his father's charismatic personality and his elegance and style. Motilal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi knew each other very well and it became easier for Jawaharlal Nehru to be closely acquainted to 'Bapu'-as the nation called him. Mahatma Gandhi first met Jawaharlal Nehru at the annual meeting of the Indian National Congress in the year 1916 at Lucknow. The first meeting was enough to impress Nehru regarding Gandhi and the charm of this relationship increased and flourished with passing time.

In Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru had found the absolute leader who was capable of handling the entire nation. This quality he found missing in almost all the Indian political leaders of the time that included his father, Motilal Nehru. Even Motilal Nehru was highly impressed and influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's inner strength and self-confidence. The greatest quality that went in favor of Mahatma Gandhi was his image. General masses could identify themselves through Gandhiji. In the initial stages of his political career, Jawaharlal Nehru found everything regarding Gandhiji amazing and great. Gandhiji's plan of action in any field attracted Nehru to a great deal. The Satyagraha movement against the Rowlatt Act fascinated Jawaharlal Nehru greatly and he was keen to join the movement with great deal of enthusiasm. But he was dissuaded by his father to join the movement then and there and asked him to follow the proceedings of the mass-movement. With satyagrahas becoming the common form of revolt against the various forms of British atrocities, Mahatma Gandhi gained an important place in the Indian freedom struggle.

There was also immense mass following that helped Gandhiji to attain that grand stature. The heinous crime that the British committed in Jalianwala Bagh evoked Jawaharlal Nehru into action. He could no longer restrain himself from joining active politics and participate in the Indian independence struggle. Gandhiji also advocated the terms 'ahimsa', meaning non-violence and 'Swaraj', meaning self-rule. These were mainly aimed at improving and changing the economic scenario in the country. Jawaharlal Nehru joined the campaign with full fervor and enthusiasm. The Congress party was totally reformed and remodeled to reach to the people at the grass root level. This called for involvement of the masses in all the action that was planned for attaining freedom from the shackles of the British rule. Nehru completely supported the idea as he knew that without this support, attaining independence would be a next to impossible job. In the year 1921, Jawaharlal Nehru was first arrested and sent to prison. After this, he was sent to the prison several times and passed nine years of his life in prison for the freedom struggle.

Mahatma Gandhi in the mean time became the supremo of the Indian National Congress. The civil-disobedience movement was also called off by Gandhiji. There was also some political strife that was going on in the Indian National Congress at this time. In 1923, Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed the General Secretary of the Congress just for a period of two years. He again gained back the position in 1927 for two years. Along with this, he was deeply involved in the freedom struggle movement and under Gandhiji's leadership and care he was blooming as an efficient leader. In 1929, under the patronage of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal was made the President of the Indian National Congress.

This was declared at the annual Congress Session at Lahore. After that Jawaharlal Nehru was made the President of the Indian National Congress six more times. He enjoyed the position and the glory that is attached to the post. But he was frequently arrested and put behind bars during the various movements that were launched to remove the British from India. Even during the Civil Disobedience Movement that was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi against the salt laws that were imposed by the British, Nehru was arrested. Gandhiji even went to London to attend the Round Table Conference to figure out a peaceful way to attain freedom for the nation. But after coming back from there, he found the situation even worse.

In 1932, both Gandhiji and Jawaharlal Nehru were arrested. Once, Motilal Nehru was also arrested and all three of them were behind bars. In 1942, with the beginning of the Quit India Movement, Jawaharlal Nehru was arrested and remained in prison for almost three years, one of the longest periods he had spent in jail. He was finally released in 1945.

In 1946, Jawaharlal Nehru with the influence of Gandhiji was summoned by the British with an idea of forming an interim government. This was done to organize the governmental structure during the transitional pre-independence period. Gandhiji was also against the partition that took place with the independence of the country. He tried his level best to avoid it and even advised the Congressmen to reject the proposals that were put forward by the Cabinet Mission. But the Congress leaders, including Jawaharlal Nehru tried to pacify Gandhiji by explaining that partition was the only way by, which a civil war between the Hindus and Muslims could be avoided. But inspite of this Gandhiji vehemently opposed this approach to freedom. Unfortunately, under great pressure from various sectors of the Congress Party and also from all parts of India, Gandhiji had to give his assent. But from his heart Gandhiji could not accept this and that troubled him till the last day of his life.

After Gandhiji's retirement from active politics, Jawaharlal Nehru became the leader of the Indian National Congress and took charge of the proceedings of the party completely. However, with passage of time and with Nehru's experience in the political field, there were certain difference of opinions and ideologies that cropped up between the two great Indian leaders. There were grave ideological differences between the two leaders. The formation of the Socialist Party within the Congress party by Jawaharlal Nehru was the first point of difference between the leaders. Though Nehru followed several rules of Satyagraha and many other principles of Gandhiji, he also opposed some of them vehemently. Nehru's ideologies matched completely with Subhash Chandra Bose and both of them also came together for the freedom struggle. But their extremist approach was strictly opposed by Gandhiji. The differences between Gandhiji and Jawaharlal Nehru also came to the forefront during the Quit India Movement. Gandhiji insisted that freedom had to be granted in 1942 and he would wait no longer, but Jawaharlal Nehru did not support this. However, irrespective of the differences, Jawaharlal Nehru respected Mahatma Gandhi. He had influenced Nehru's personal, social as well as political life to a great deal. On his death, Jawaharlal Nehru addressed the nation and expressed his grief on the loss of the great leader. He felt that India had lost the greatest leader. With both good and bad times, the relationship that Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi shared was a matter of envy for many leaders. It has become an interesting subject of study for many people, even in modern times.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is fast becoming a must-have body of knowledge for business owners. Nearly 91 percent of all Internet users resort to a search engine to find information, according to a recent survey by the non-profit Pew Internet and American Life Project. The question is: how easily can they find your business?

Analytics programs -- These help you understand which parts of your site visitors use most, such as which navigation links they click on most. For those who run Google AdWords campaigns and do not like the idea of giving sensitive site data to the same company you purchase ads from, ClickTracks is an alternative. ClickTracks offers a free version called ClickTracks Appetizer.
SEO Moz page strength tool -- This interactive tool gives you a quick snapshot of some of the factors search engines consider when determining site rankings. Don’t take it as the complete word on ranking factors, but do have fun with it.

Adsense tips for making more money (profit) from Google adsense program.
a. Strictly follow the rules mentioned in Adsense policies. You will always earn more revenue from Adsense by playing it clean.
b. Never modify the Google Adsense HTML code.
c. Don't ask your friends or visitors to click on your Google ads. Do not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. Don't label the Google ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements.".
d. Don't click on your own ads - Google is much smarter than you think. You should not reload your pages excessively. If you are testing your website layout with Google adsense, follow some precautions. Or you can use the unofficial Google Adsense Sandbox Tool that is accessible from Firefox, IE and other browsers to see what kind of Google ads will be served based on content (website address URL) or keywords.
e. Don't place ads in pop-up windows, error pages or even empty pages.
f. Don't start a "adsense asbestos" or "home equity loan rates" website merely to make money from accidental clicks (accidence). You will never make money out these "made-for-adsense-only" websites. Instead, write on topics what you are passionate about. Don't waste your money on high-paying adsense keywords lists.
g. For short articles, CTR is best when ads are placed just above the content
h. For long articles, CTR improves if ads are placed somewhere in middle of the content - visitors read the long content and then they are looking for more resources.
i. Use Text Ads instead of Image Ads as users get more options. If you still want to display image ads, consider ad formats that support image ads- Choose either the 300x250 medium rectangle or the 160x600 wide skyscraper- or both, if you display multiple ad units on a page.
j. Google Ads without background color and borders always perform better. Make the border color and background color same as your page background color.
k. Always put ads above the main fold. Make sure that the ad unit with the highest clickthrough rate is the first instance of the ad code that appears in the HTML. Since the first ad unit is always filled before the rest, you want to make sure that ad unit is located in the best placement on your page.
l. Try setting the ad link URL color to a lighter shade. If your text is black, you may make the adlink as light gray.
m. Go Wide - The large rectangle is the best paying adsense format (336x280) - The Google Adsense Publisher team also feels that the best formats are the wider ones - the ad formats that contain the widest individual ads. Try using the 336x280 large rectangle, 300x250 medium rectangle, or 160x600 wide skyscraper.
n. Placing images next to ads or above ads does help in attracting user attention.
o. Blend AdLinks with other navigation links or place horizontal adlinks at the top of your webpage. AdSense publishers are permitted to click on link unit topics on their web pages, provided that they do not click on any Google ads on the resulting page.
p. Organize an Adsense Party for your friends and colleagues - Request them to navigate your website, watch their activity - it will provide vital clues about which regions on your website draw more user attention. Try putting ads near those areas. (Thanks Darren)
q. You can put upto 3 adsense units on a page. Try putting a large skyscraper on the right navigation sidebar of your website. That area is close to the browser scrollbar. You can also add 2 AdSense for search boxes, 1 adlink unit and 1 referral button per product (i.e., 1 AdSense referral button and 1 Firefox plus Google Toolbar referral button).
r. The first few lines of your content are an important factor for determining what Ads are served on your webpage. That's the right place to put keywords in bold (strong or <> tags) or header tags (h1, h2, etc).
s. Always select the setting to open Google Adsense search box results in a new browser window, so you won't lose your visitors. Click the Open search results in a new browser window checkbox and this add target="google_window" to your form tag.
t. Maximum people think the search box is on the top right corner. So you know where to put it.
u. Don't syndicate full content. If people can read everything from the newsreader window itself, why would they visit your website where your ads are.
v. Use URL channels to determine performance of individual pages. I track my most popular pages with Google Analytics, Statcounter and create a channel for each of the URL. You can even track Adsense Clicks with Analytics
w. For low CTR pages, try changing titles or adding more content to get better focused ads
x. Block low paying advertisers with Filters. Why to loose a visitor for 0.01 cents. Use Overture or Google Adwords Keywords tool to discover keywords that are less popular with advertisers.
y. The AdSense for search Top Queries report shows you what your users are looking for, by listing the 25 most common searches conducted through your AdSense for search boxes. Use this report to identify additional topics to add to your site, or to keep track of your most sought-after information. Focus and improve that content.
z. Not everyone has a RSS reader. Use RSS to Email services like FeedBlitz, websitelet or Rmail to let users subscribe to your website by email.

GEveryone knows the importance of links when it comes to increasing your search engine results. The first question you must ask is where to get links from. There are two strategies here.
1. The most effective way to identify the “right” sites to get links from should be based on who is linking to your competition defined by who outranks you on Google for your identified search term. Ideally you should be evaluating who links to the #1 search result in Google for the keywords or keyword phrases you’re optimizing for. If you get the same sites to link to your site in the right way you’ll be in the top position on Google for that given keyword phrase.
There are a variety of methods to determine which sites are linking to the #1 result in Google for the keyword phrase you’re targeting. Begin by identifying which site is in the #1 position for your search term. Once you’ve identified this site, do one of the following:
• Google Search. Go to Google.com and type in the following:
Link: www.competitor.com and press return. Be sure to replace the “competitor.com” with the name of the site you’ve already identified as having the #1 position on Google for your search term.
The result will be a series of sites linking to your competitor. The only downside to this method is that you will not know which sites are more important than others (i.e. number of links linking into those sites, Google PR, keyword content on pages, etc.)
• Alexa. Go to Alexa.com and type in the name of the site you’re researching. Alexa.com is a tool used to measure the popularity of sites using the Alexa toolbar. Because not everyone uses the Alexa toolbar, the information is only directionally correct.
Once you get the resultant website, you will see a number of options listed. To the right of the thumbnail image, click “Sites Linking In”.
This option returns a list of sites that Alexa has identified as linking into the site you’re researching. This can be an adequate starting spot for your link building campaign.
• Online SEO Tools. Using online marketing tools to automatically generate a list of sites linking into your competitor’s site that provides link details (Google PR, Link text, Number of inbound links to competitor’s site, Page title, etc.) is the most effective way to generate a list of targeted sites for your link development efforts.
I’ve personally bought and used about a dozen different products to help me keep an eye on my competition and more importantly build an effective linking campaign. In less than 30 seconds some of these tools let you know exactly which sites are linking to the #1 positioned website and give you the information needed to contact them and request a link.
You can use whatever tool you want as long as it provides you a list of sites linking into your competitor and a way to prioritize that list. If you start to develop links from the highest quality sites first, your climb to the #1 spot on Google will happen that much faster.
• Identify Authority Websites. Authority websites are those sites linking to 3 or more of your competitors. You can save time by using an online SEO tool to find these sites. If you do not have a tool at your disposal, you can accomplish this manually using the following method:1. Search for competitive sites by visiting Google and searching for your most important search term. 2. Create a spreadsheet of the top 100 sites “linking in” to each of your top 5 competitors (Microsoft Excel is a good tool for this)3. Sort Alphabetically4. While looking at the list, see if any of the website URL’s are duplicated across your list. If the site appears 3 or more times, highlight it.5. Once you’ve developed your list of competitive sites, you should visit each one to determine how your competitors are listed.
Once you’ve identified your Authority Websites, contact them. Model the strategy that your competitors have used. If these sites are Directories, look for a directory submission form. If the links are from articles that your competitors submitted, submit your own. If all you can locate is an email, ask the webmaster to include your site. You may also suggest a link exchange if the opportunity arises.
