Arturo Gatti, a former junior welterweight boxing champion and considered by many to be among the best pound-for-pound boxers in his prime, was found dead inside a hotel room on Saturday. Gatti was 37-years-old. The eccentric fighter had been in the resort town of Porto de Galihnas in Brazil with his wife and one-year-old son. The political situation in Honduras remains uncertain following two days of talks in Costa Rica which involved interim president Roberto Micheletti, the recently overthrown President Manuel Zelaya and Costa Rican President Oscar Arias who had been acting as mediator. According to supporters of Micheletti and Zelaya the talks produced little to resolve the political crisis that has polarized the country for two weeks. Micheletti and Zelaya refused to meet with each other but held separate talks with Arias on Thursday before leaving representatives to further discuss the issues on Friday. Zelaya was kidnapped from his residence by military troops on June 28 and flown to Costa Rica after the Supreme Court and Honduran Congress agreed the leader should be removed from office.
