Following the 2018/2019 football season we have renovated 5 pitches at the Aon Training Complex. The scope of works included:

Scarify in 3 directions, vacuuming any debris.
Apply Profile®, a porous soil amendment.
Supply and spread 400 tonnes of sports sand.
Disc and dimple seed in multiple directions and apply fertiliser.
Deep tine aeration using a Wiedenmann Terra Spike.

Scunthorpe United FC Pitch Renovation

Following the 2018/2019 football season we fully renovated Glanford Park, the home of Scunthorpe United FC. The seasons scope of works included:

Removal of the existing surface and vacuum all debris.
Install a 23 linear metre main drain including chamber.
Install sand slits at 500mm centres.
Supply and spread 80 tonnes of sports sand.
Deep tine aeration.
Disc seed and dimple seed Limagrain MM60 in five directions.
Spread pre seed fertiliser.

Manchester United The Cliff End of Season Renovation

We have just completed the end of season renovation at Manchester United FC’s The Cliff training ground. The 10,158m2 project included:

Surface removal in multiple directions. All debris vacuumed with a Trilo SG400.
Supply and spread 90 tonnes of sports sand.
Deep tine aeration.
Prepare the surface for pre seed fertiliser and sow Limagrain MM60 grass seed in five directions.
Supply and spread Profile, a porous soil amendment that helps to reduce compaction and improve soil aeration and drainage.

Royal Norwich Golf Club Fairway Sand Slits

In preparation for the opening of the new Royal Norwich Golf Course in Weston Longville we installed secondary fairway drainage.

The scope of works included:

Excavate trenches 300mm deep at 1m centres.
Backfill trenches with sports sand and compact to just below the surface.
Top up trenches with sports sand to ensure a flush finish with the fairway.

Epsom Racecourse Parade Ring Turfing

Each year the parade ring at Epsom Racecourse is turfed in preparation for the busy racing season. 40mm thick cut turf is installed on top of a block paved car park to create the parade ring. The course ground staff ensure the turf remains healthy and is watered throughout the spring and summer.

Cheltenham Festival Turf Installation 2019

For the 6th year running we have renovated the winners enclosure at Cheltenham Racecourse. The timing of the project coincides with The Festival, one of the key jump meetings in the racing calendar. We stripped the existing turf, cultivated, levelled and prepped the topsoil and installed Tillers Turf Arena big roll.

Wimbledon Aorangi Terrace Turfing

Each year during the Wimbledon Championships Aorangi Terrace, also known as Henman Hill or Murray Mound, has very high footfall and is prone to wear and tear. We were asked to remediate an area of the terrace ready for this years Championships. During the project due to restricted access around Aorangi Terrace we required assistance from a Sir Robert McApline crane to manoeuvre the turf pallets into position.

The scope of works included:

Strip existing turf.
Supply and spread 60 tonnes of topsoil. Shape and marry into the existing contours. Consolidate and prepare ready for turf.
Apply 6:5:18 pre turf fertiliser.
Supply and install 605m2 of Tillers Turf Arena.

Castle Bytham Manège Construction

We were asked by a private, local client to construct a Manège on their property. A fibre sand surface was installed on the 920m2 Menage. A robust and resilient surface, ideally suited for this application. The fibres laced throughout the sand trap moisture and help stop the sand becoming loose.

The project included:

Grade and consolidate the formation.
Supply and install a membrane.
Laser grade and consolidate a fibre sand surface.
Erect new fencing to the Manège perimeter. All posts were HC4 pressure treated for a longer life against rot and insect attack.

Royal St George’s Tee Construction

Royal St George’s has played host to the Open Championship on 14 occasions, including the first played outside of Scotland in 1894. We recently reconstructed and resized the 6th and 16th tees in preparation for the club hosting its 15th Open in 2020.

The works included:

Remove existing rootzone and stockpile.
Shape and consolidate the new tee formations. The 6th tee was 360m2 and the 16th was 320m2.
Blend imported rootzone with the stockpiled rootzone.
Laser level and prepare the surface ready for turf.
Supply Tillers Turf Fescue to be installed by the Greens Staff.

Trent Bridge Cricket Ground Outfield Renovation

In October we returned to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground for their end of season renovation. The outfield was scarified using an Amazone 210 and the arisings collected with a Trilo SG400. The outfield was over seeded with a Vredo Disc Seeder and Limagrain MM50.
