Hey everyone-

I wanted to share with you all that we are official up and running again! Elizabeth has a new sight now which is why we have been MIA. She has been working with attorney’s and such to get her new place ready and I am pleased she has asked me to stay on!!!!

I don’t have a project for you and have reasons for it but I would love to show you the image we were to work with this week. I will show you my project soon! Here is the cute image:

Daisy Doodles Free week!

Hey everyone-

It is our free week at Daisy Doodles so that means you are allowed to do whatever as long as you used a Daisy Doodles image! I am so bad at this because I have a had time with being FREE since there is no schedule so I am lazy! This means I am trying to get 2 cards done instead! I can’t seem to have leniency because I procrastinate!

Well I made a card using Freddy (from the Freddy series) for a 1 year old birthday. What is better yet is there is only one candle too! Let me show it to you:

Supplies: Freddy, Ribbon: ?,Paper: DCWV, embellies (Cupcakes) No idea, Spellbinders, Stickles, Prismacolor and Gamsol.

I used a sketch (kinda) from Cardmaker’s Birthday sketch book changing it up a small bit. I did the bow separate from the other ribbon so that I could put it where I wanted it. I really like how it came out! I also wanted to have a sparkly frosting so I added Stickles to the cupcake and the part Freddy is eating plus the drip! Hope you like it! I almost blew it today by revealing my blog hop card thinking it was already next week! I had to get it done because the girls and I are going away for the weekend since James is traveling for work! So I was working ahead of time which is unusual for me, LOL!!

Daisy Doodles Challenge-Valentine with color and shimmer!

Hey everyone-

First things first, the reason you came. If you are visiting today it is to see what is going on at the wonderful blog of Daisy Doodles! There are awesome images available by Jules! They are cute and best part is they can be used for almost everything! If you check out the challenge 27 you will get be able to get the Valentine Sentiments free and it is what I used for my card this week! It is a great set of sentiments especially for free!

I recently did a major shopping spree for myself, well kind of. It seemed like a big spree but everything was small! LOL I did get a couple new books and one was to help me use my Spellbinders better! I tried one of the idea’s in the book and there are great tips too! Anyway, I decide to try one of the ideas which was to make a window card!!! It kind of worked but kind of didn’t! LOL

Here is my so called window card:

What do you think? I would say that if you tried this technique not to use the foil paper (my red strip) since it makes easily!!! I also tried another technique which was to use the die and color around it. I waited until after the sentiment was cut so it did not work like it showed in the book but pretty close. I use red and left a white edge around it. Next time I will color around the die first with ink then cut it to give it a layered look but I like how this came out! The sentiment is actually on the inside of the card so you see it through the window. I then added the tied red bow and the heart to add an extra touch to the window. The sketch is one I saw at Paper Craft Planet with some changes!

Happileigh Scrappin Challenge

Howdy everyone-

Things have been crazy because of the 2 snow days from school then the girls got fevers! Antonia only did one day that week then Taylor missed Friday because of getting the fever Thursday night! Both of them have horrible coughs plus Antonia has the cold! We got so much snow those days we were trapped in the house!!! Saturday we were supposed to go out to the Melting Pot for my birthday since James was gone for work. We did make it but it snowed again like crazy causing us to get stuck in the driveway first. LOL The girls took Dayquil to make it through because they did not want to bum me out. We had a good time and they thought it was neat doing the fondue at the restaurant. We had done our own at home before just like they do but it was not the same! LOL

First I have to say that my hubby travelled on my birthday so I went to my parents for dinner and cake with my girls! I got the cutest unicorn thermal shirt, SPELLBINDERS, CROP A DILE CORNER CHOMPER and Flower soft string stuff which was not the right thing but hey my mom gave it a try with my list! I have to say I was surprised because usually she tells me that this kind of stuff is not her thing! Over the weekend I am going to the Melting pot with James and the girls to celebrate!

Happileigh Scrappin Photo Challenge

You would think that I would remember that we are a photo inspiration challenge!!! But again this week I forget! I get my image picked out then starting working if a thought hits me and then I get done remembering that it is a specific challenge! Ugh! I don’t fit the challenge very well this week but I did use Tatter!!

I have only done one easel card before so this was put together several different times until I got it right! Let me share with you part of my problem in getting it done!

First he got mad I stole his chair so he went into my bin knocked out all the stuff you see laying around!!! He was ticked. I tried doing the card by memory of what I saw on line but of course my mind is gone so I went to print the directions for the card and he took the chair back! We were playing shuffle your feet, lose your seat I guess!

I came back to find him in the chair so I decided to share it with him. Lucky did not like that so here is what he decided to do!

He laid right on my directions!!!! Of course my image was under there with him laying his poundage on it!!!! I can say one thing at least it was only Lucky! Usually it is Spade, Mocha and Lucky driving me nuts!

Daisy Doodles Red, Sentiment challenge

I was wanting to make a card for my next door neighbor’s daughter who had a baby recently! Well I did it last week for the free challenge but unfortunately I goofed it up and it slid in my Bigshot and cut crooked! Well those that know me know I get frustrated easily so I quit! This week I chose the same image colored it then realized I was looking in the wrong spot for the what the challenge was thinking it was a free challenge. After coloring, using this image, I found the right folder for the challenge to find out it was to use red and a sentiment! So I used the Giraffe image anyway and improvised! LOL

See told you I used the giraffe’s still! I made it so I can give it as a “A baby’s love is unconditional” I chose the circle words as my sentiment! I hope this works! LOL

Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop time

Hey everyone-

Please forgive me quick post but my oldest daughters world came crashing down around her today so I was being with her. Her boyfriend of 3 years just broke up with her! She did not know it was even coming! Her heart is so full of pain and there is not a damn thing I can do about it! I did not see it coming either. Maybe it will work out but this is a time I wish a mother could heal everything! I am just helpless.

Well I decided in my head a few days ago that I would make a spring card and had high hopes I would knock your socks off but with everything not sure it will! Rough evening for us!

Happileigh Scrappin Challenge

Hey everyone-

I don’t know what I was thinking but I never did my post for the challenge! Duh!

We are going to be doing a photo inspiration challenge for a while so here is the photo

Now let me explain my card to you all since it really does not match the inspiration! I picked my image and ran with it!!! I completely screwed up forgetting the photo! Ugh! I have to say I have some of the colors in my card but added color to make it pop.

Is this not the cutest image? I used a card layout that I did last year for Valentine’s Day. I thought this paper was perfect for such a fun, cute image.

Photo challenge & anything but a card time at Dude Time Doodles

Hey everyone-

Quick post for me since it is late and I am in a mood! I had my projects done early this afternoon but went to take a picture and my camera battery was dead. Problem was I torn my house apart trying to find the charger with no luck. We needed to go to take Taylor to singing lessons then to my in-laws to pick up a book plus visit with an uncle that is having surgery tomorrow. I came home after all that torn the house apart more to come up empty handed! Have I said that I am quite ticked? I had to take the pictures with my daughter’s camera and I just feel the pictures stink because I am used to my own! I had a design team that I wanted to try for but I have to take pictures of my projects. I just can’t seem to make them look good so they would turn me down anyway with bad quality photos! Okay enough complaining!

Inspiration photo

I have such a hard time with things that aren't a card! I said I was going call in sick for this one but our fearless leader threatened to beat my a$$! LOL So I came up with this:

I made for the first time a fan flower fold thingy! I will tell you I did not realize how big it was going to be. LOL I looked up how to make one on You Tube and of course everyone tells you make it what size you want! I cut a 2 3/4 x 12 strip plus a 2 3/4 x 6 to start. You then score at every 1/2 inch until the end. I then folded them accordion style and connected the strips together. What I found out was that the paper I was using was thin so the scored areas were tearing apart. Suggestion: If using thin paper score, don’t push to hard! Makes you cuss very loudly! LOL I then tried to put it together but just could get it to work! I was to stupid to fold this the right way, tearing the paper! I finally quit cursing about that, relaxed then the bright bulb went off over my head telling me to cut another strip instead of cursing! Well I took the extra strip from the 12 inch I divided and added it to my strips. That so help me finally be able to fold my flower. Of course every time I got it to look like a flower it would pop back to strips!!! Ugh! Finally after more cursing it was finished! Now all I had to hold it up that looked like a snack was animal crackers! I suggest you not serve these at the Super Bowl party or Broccoli! Hee hee Then I decided to make a beer charm. I thought hey you get to have a charm to know what glass of wine is your so I wanted one for my beer! LOL

Well I was busy today! I went with Taylor and her friend to the Rock off of high school bands! We listened to 12 bands of all kinds! Her friend Austin is a solo guy. I will be back today with a card for Daisy Doodles! I will be late but I will do it! I planned to do it tonight but the girls wanted me to go since the Rock Off was in Downtown Cleveland so it was best I go too! LOL I guess I will see you with my update later!

Daisy Doodle past or present

Hey everyone-

We were given a choice on using a past card, new card or both! I decided to use a past card since I am new to this team and know the holidays are busy times so people might have missed a card I did that I want them to see! The hard part was picking just one of my past cards! LOL

My choice was to use the Robin card again! Let me tell you why. I find this image very versatile for not only Christmas time but for winter too! You could send this to wish someone some warm wishes, maybe a winter birthday or a just because! I hope you agree as well! I also think the polar bear image would also work for the winter time! Happileigh Scrappin Blog Hop

Happy New Year everyone! I hope it was a safe one for you all. On New Year’s Eve, we went to my inlaws for my father in laws birthday. Usually we stay the night but this year we came home. James made his nacho dip and we played Pictionary using the Udraw (Wii gizmo that’s new) until it was time for the countdown. We watched that then Jack (Taylor’s bf of 3 years) and Antonia blew off some fireworks then we took Jack home. New Year’s day was dinner at my parents. Every year is the same meal! Pork, sauerkraut, Kilebasa and what ever else. The good luck stuff supposedly but not sure it works! The best part was this was my parents first new year in the new house since the old one burnt down! It was also the first Christmas. For those who do not know my parents house burnt down on Mother’s Day 2009 and the new house was finished February 2010.

This is the first blog hop for Happileigh! Leigh just started her own challenges and store! Her designs are so cute, hand drawn (not clip art) and fun to use! I would love for you all to check her challenges! I am getting to work with some old friends as well as getting to make new ones! You should be arriving from Leigh (store owner)! I used unknown paper (cover gone), ribbon from a Christmas present (I cheated, LOL) and Pearls. I made the layout design on my own. That is unusual for me! I decided no sentiment for this one because I could use it for a thank you, birthday, hi or whatever I want. Maybe it would be “I heard it through the grapevine…it is your birthday”! Hee hee

I worked with the image Driftin Denton! I was so glad to get this one as I have 2 fisher people in my house! I say people because one serious die hard is my hubby and the other is my youngest Antonia. She loves to fish and make her own flies for fly fishing. Denton just reminds me of what James would do if he could just enjoy a day of fishing or if he was retired!! Now you would wonder if I would mind him just floating all day? Heck no!!!! That means I can do what I want! ‘

Softpencil Challenge

Hey everyone-

Hope your Christmas was wonderful! I know ours was great! My hubby and girls got me plenty of card making items!!!! I got the Scor Mini which I wanted. We all got a bunch of nice stuff!!!!! It was a terrific day.

I have been so busy with the holidays that my card making was put aside. Luckily, my teams have put us on a break so I did have time off but I also had to take a bit of time off. Speaking of teams and things going on, one of my all time favorite digi places is going out of business, The Character Café. The girls have other things going on right now and feel they have to let the café go. The store will stay open but they will not be putting new images very often. The challenge blog will be up still but won’t be updated often. The girls will still stop by to let you know of anything going on!

At Softpencil we were given the image of Ratiny in a cupcake! Let me show you my project. I made a pillow box with my image! I used a pillow box I bought as a template.

I used DCWV paper as the cover paper, nestablities for the scallop and oval, I put the ribbon over the scallop and tied it then I used the image with pop up squares on top of it so it would come off with the ribbon. I added the Happy bday and gems for extra looks!

Hello again! Another day with 2 posts! This time you will be seeing the fantastic work of the Dude Time Doodles Dudettes! This weeks challenge was to use the given inspiration! I have to say they sure are picking ones that rack my brain!

I really like the multi picture inspiration as well as the listed colors with splotch.

Let me show you my card:

I used Pete the Plumber for my image! We were to think of making a card for the PostMAN, MANcanic or PluMANber. Get it? Hee hee

I chose to use some new paper I got from Cloud 9 and was skeptical about using the flowery paper! Tell me what you think? It is hard to tell but part of the inside of the flower was a buttercup color hence the reason for the plain color paper! Check out the Dudette’s work by clicking the links

Well I am off! To many things to get together for Antonia’s birthday (21st) and also Christmas! Can you believe how fast it came? Ho ho ho, gotta go!

I just love this image! I was laughing as making this thinking I should send this to my friends or Aunt in Florida who are feeling the Ohio wrath of Mother Nature! At least their weather will get better and ours will turn into the tundra yet! LOL

I am sure if you can see all the glitter but many of the mittens are covered plus the snowflake is glitter happy too!

Well gonna run since tomorrow (21st) is Antonia’s birthday and so much to be done!

Dude Time Doodles Tutorial

Hey all-

I have been wanting to do a tutorial for DTD at Paper Craft Planet so here it is! I would love for you to join our group there! You want masculine images this is the place to be!!!! It is free to join and no strings just come to see what we are about!

Okay so I did already show you this tutorial on Thursday but this time I used a DTD image for one of Antonia’s guy teacher!

So you need to cut your paper to 7 1/2 x 11 and then score at 5 and 10! This will fit 4 cocoa packets from Land o Lakes.

Here is the top of the packet holder and I cut the paper to fit but leave a small edge around for extra oophm. LOL You can do a great background with a stamp and embossing powder! I have used this method in the past and love the turn out as well!

Here is the completed packet! You just need to have an image colored then layer it on coordinating paper. I used my computer to print out the sentiment which is 7 touchdowns (days) until Christmas! He is the football coach by the way. You need to punch a hole in the top to put the ribbon through, drop cocoa packets down and use the ribbon to tie them in place. You then just need to embellish and decorate how you want for your recipient! These could be made for many different holidays! The possibilities are endless!

Well it is late her so I am gonna go! Hubby might be stuck in Austria another day due to big snow storm in Germany! He is not a happy camper right now! LOL Oh yeah if you have questions about the holder just see Thursday’s post for more detail!
