After following the TIP I found in the manual (run cmd.exe as a Firedaemon Service, and then start explorer.exe from within that cmd window) to open up a "real" console session to see the forms of my running apps, I cannot find a way to close this and 'return to normal'.
I would like to be able to open or close this session at will. So now I have to logoff (this is using remote desktop) and log back in to get at the logon session.
When I flip to the session 0 (click on 'view the message'), I always land on this 'explorer' session.

I really do not want to reboot the server to get out of this...

Thanks,
Fran

I'm trying to setup a reboot station for members of the community and was testing the free trial + Fusion to see if this will work for us.
I have a couple of servers running with FD pro and I'm trying to setup a login for admins to control and or start stop the servers.
I have yet to figure out how to allow the accounts I have setup access to the fusion program.

I can login local but neither of the accounts I have setup seem to work.

I'm using 84.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx:8080 as the login is there some special url for people to use to login or am I missing a setting within Fusion.
This is on a Windows 2008r2

How To Run Brink Dedicated Server (Brink DS) as a Windows Service with FireDaemon

Brink is a third person action game. The dedicated server component can be run as a Windows Service using FireDaemon. FireDaemon will allow you to have the dedicated server start automatically at boot prior to login, allow you to start multiple instances of the dedicated server and so forth. This HOWTO will show you how set it up. You can also use Fusion to manage FireDaemon and other Windows services via a web browser.

Brink Dedicated Server Setup Under FireDaemon

First download and install the HLDS Update Tool. It can be downloaded from here. The download is small (< 1 MB).

Download the Brink server files via Valve’s content servers. First before downloading the files, go to the directory where you installed the HLDS Update Tool. Create a shortcut to “HldsUpdateTool.exe”. Next edit the properties of the shortcut and in the target box, at the end of it (with a space before the following), put:
-command update -game brink -dir .
The target box should now look something like:
"C:\brink\HldsUpdateTool.exe" -command update -game brink -dir .

Now click the shortcut you created and let it run (it might take a few hours to update everything). You should also run the shortcut every week or so to grab the latest server updates (stop your server first though).

Install FireDaemon Pro into the directory of your choice (typically C:\Program Files\FireDaemon). FireDaemon can be downloaded from here.

Brink stores all of its configuration files in the base folder. Edit any of the .cfg files to your liking.

Next start the FireDaemon GUI from the desktop shortcut. Click on the "Create a new service definition" button in the toolbar (or type Ctrl+N) and enter the information into the fields as you see below. Obviously adjust paths to suite your installation. Pay special attention to the Parameters list.

The most important field on the tab is the Parameters. The Parameters define the initial setup of your server.

[Here’s the full parameter list you should have:
+set net_serverDedicated 1 +set si_name "My Server" +set net_serverPort 27015 +set net_serverPortMaster 27016 +set exec_maxThreads 1

+set net_serverDedicated 1 Loads the dedicated server (Required)

+set si_name "My Server" Sets the server name (Replace 'My Server' with whatever you want)

+set net_serverPort 27015 Sets the server port to 27015

+set net_serverPortMaster 27016 Sets the master port to 27016

+set exec_maxThreads 1 This setting is critical for computer performance. If you do not set it, then your Brink server will use up all available cores and slow your server computer.

Now click on the Settings tab. If you DON'T want to see your dedicated server running, uncheck the Interact with Desktop check box & select “Hidden” from the “Show Window” dropdown. Also uncheck Graceful Shutdown as Brink DS doesn't respond to it. You can optionally run Brink DS as the user you installed it as. In the Logon Account field type your username (eg. Administrator) and then enter the user's password twice in the Password and Confirm fields.

Now click on the Advanced tab. You can change the Process Priority to allocate more CPU time to the dedicated server or specify which CPU or core the dedicated server will run on (in the case of multi-processor, hyperthreaded or multi-core CPUs).

Now click on the Dependencies tab. Make sure the service depends on the lanmanworkstation (Workstation) service to ensure the TCP/IP and CIFS stacks are both up prior to starting brink DS.

Now click on the Install button to install and start Brink DS!

I am evaluating FireDaemon to see if it will fit my needs.
However, I can restart my application in the current session.
Gone are the days of being forced to use a specific device or computer, only being able to SMS other mobile phones or having to install 3rd party messaging or encryption software to secure a simple text message!

LAEM has the following great features including:

Multi-platform support including Android, IOS, Windows and OS-X

Multi-layered security. Messages are AES 256-bit encrypted on your mobile device or computer before being sent via LAEM. If someone gains access to your LAEM mailbox your messages are unreadable.

Unlimited messaging per month and no roaming fees (your service provider's data/internet fees still apply)

Ability to store sensitive text for a short periods of time

No software to install - you just need a browser

We'd love anyone who is interested to become a beta tester and help us iron out any bugs or provide suggestions to make this web application better.

Sign up quick as our beta program is limited!

FSHost is a free server for hosting multiplayer sessions in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, 2004, and FSX. The dedicated server component can be run as a Windows Service using FireDaemon. FireDaemon will allow you to have the dedicated server start automatically at boot prior to login, allow you to start multiple instances of the dedicated server and so forth. This HOWTO will show you how set it up. You can also use Trinity or PanelDaemon to manage FireDaemon and other Windows services via a web browser.

FSHost Dedicated Server Setup Under FireDaemon

First download and install the latest FSHost. It can be downloaded from here. The download is small (< 2 MB).

Install FireDaemon Pro into the directory of your choice (typically C:\Program Files\FireDaemon). FireDaemon can be downloaded from here.

All configuration is done through the FSHost's GUI. So run it first and configure all the settings then close FSHost and continue with the following steps.

Next start the FireDaemon GUI from the desktop shortcut. Click on the "Create a new service definition" button in the toolbar (or type Ctrl+N) and enter the information into the fields as you see below. Obviously adjust paths to suite your installation. Pay special attention to the Parameters list.

Now click on the Settings tab. If you DON'T want to see your dedicated server running, uncheck the Interact with Desktop check box & select “Hidden” from the “Show Window” dropdown. You can optionally run FSH DS as the user you installed it as.

Make sure the service depends on the lanmanworkstation (Workstation) service to ensure the TCP/IP and CIFS stacks are both up prior to starting FSH DS.

Now click on the Install button to install and start FSHost!
