Hayley and Drew’s wedding was the first wedding at this lovely new venue. Capay Organic has recently opened up their gorgeous estate as a wedding venue. The view from the ceremony site was rich with rolling hills of grapevines and orchards. Enjoy!

It’s Christmas Eve! I hope you all enjoy your family and friends this weekend.

This year we had our friend, Betsy Erickson of Essence Photography take our family photos. It was such a blessing to have someone take time to capture us as a family.

It was so nice to be able to relax, and simply smile and cuddle my family while some one else took care of the shooting. I am so thankful for these priceless moments captured.

P.S. I loved this first photo so much that I had It made into a 16×24 canvas for our home.

I just met the Haglan family this year. They are a beautiful family! Their girls are adorable.

My brother and his family came in from Oregon to have their family session done this last week.

We had a fun day together. Their little boy did so much better this year than last year.

So the story goes something like this…

One day my mom was sitting at her sewing machine stitching together the finishing touches on a pair of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. I walked into the room and took one look at her masterpiece and said, ” I hope you are not making those things for me, I don’t like ‘em!” I think I was shocked at the bright yarn hair, or their strange looking eyes. I later learned that my sweet mom did make them for me. And, after all, I did enjoy them for years. But she still reminds me of my first ‘lovely’ reaction to them.

In fact, I still have them. I fondly remember the Raggedy Ann and Andy stories and even did my older daughter’s first birthday party in a Raggedy Ann theme.

Recently I saw a dress in a thrift store that reminded me of the style of clothing I wore back when I was little. I bought the dress and put together a little shoot to tribute that lovely mid- 1970′s day. And yes, that is the original Raggedy Ann my daughter is holding.
