You see one thing ive learned is you need to use your leverage to get the bigger people on board and so without actually saying it you in fact form a mini syndicate just like the big boys such as Frank Kern, Mike Filsaim, Andy Jenkins, John Reese and actually loads more.

There are apparently around 12 people in the syndicate so far and im sure it will keep on growing slowly over time too.

So what is this syndicate?

Well they honestly haven’t kept it a secret and as shown in the image above taken from screen caps of one of Kern’s many videos he actually tells you what he is doing to make his money and make him successful.

But in simple terms all it means is a few people band together and promote each other’s stuff and because the guys in the IM syndicate have huge lists they automatically attract the attention of other people who then jump on board to promote the same product who are outside the syndicate and so the “million dollar” product launch is born time after time.

Simple enough right?

Well yes but when you have no list or only a few thousand in there and you try and form a syndicate most likely people are going to just laugh at you or your going to be joined by people with lower leverage than yourself looking for a free ride to the top.

So how do we become part of this Guru Syndicate?

Well i actually have two answers for you and they are as follows…

First option is to fake the fact that you as a newbie or even intermediate marketer with a list less than 100,000 people or even no list at all deserve to be talked about by 1000′s of people!

How do you do that? Simple!

You can actually pick up things called “solo ads” which is basically a mail shot to peoples inbox from 100′s of marketers where you pay on average between $0.30 and $0.50 per click (more if its just on their buyers lists).

So if your budget allowed it you could simply spend like $10,000 and get around 20,000 to 40,000 clicks (with a discount on your large orders) which would mean an average of around 30,000 different people seeing your offer and on top of that not everyone would click so there would be a % who saw your name but didn’t click and so you are getting some more positive branding there too!

But then if you add in the fact that your either going to be doing JV partner/affiliate recruiting yourself too or getting someone like myself on board to help with that then your going to be getting even more people seeing your offer which in turn get’s even more people to it and it’s an upwards spiral from there!

* Note: Ive never actually tried this but i don’t see why it wouldn’t work even if you did add in some more security to the spiral effect to make sure your investment isn’t wasted.

Second option is to get their attention (which unfortunately is kinda difficult).

Tristan Bull is the latest guy i know of who’s got Kern’s attention with his coaching program who actually was good enough to leave a review which has to help business but no promotions from him so we would have to step it up.

Then on the other side of the table you have people like the salty droid who get’s the wrong kind of attention but still gets to actually talk with these guys on the phone with his blog. Unfortunately though he’s against this whole syndicate thing and the whole IM niche all together calling it a complete scam!

So finally the only real way of getting their attention is to be a top affiliate of there’s for one of their product launches (kinda ironic right).

The most simple way to do this is to get a list and offer some massive bonus’s to the people who buy from your link but don’t leave it at that if you really want to be at the very top, make sure you actively try and get more people on to your list who are interested in getting this product!

The higher up the list you get the more attention your going to get and ultimately the better chance they have of “returning the favor” and putting out a promotion for you too!

*Note: Remember they don’t HAVE to put out a promotion for you! Just because your in the top 10 or top 5 or even the top affiliate doesn’t mean they have to but it would be stupid of them not too as they will want you on their next launch too

Now in the mean time you may be asking… how on earth do i get to this stage right?

Well the answer seems to be to simply have a list! And then keep on growing it and growing it until putting out promotions for any launch lands you somewhere near the top every single time, meaning you then team up with different people along the way and eventually either have the ability to build your own syndicate or ultimately grab the attention of these “guru’s” and get to join theirs.

1st of you need to find the size of your monitor/display.

To do this simply right click on the desktop and select “properties”, then go across to “settings” and it will tell you what display resolution your using. Now you have your image size!

Now it’s time to go and find an image…

Personally i found the best way and place to find an wallpaper of the right size was to use the google image search.

Then you can use the advanced parameters to select the exact size although most of the sites you get sent to once you find an image you like offer the wallpaper in various sizes anyway.

But simply search for things like…

top desktop wallpapers

best desktop wallpaper

Lamborghini wallpaper

beach wallpaper

etc etc

Then when you have found the one you like, download it and save it!

OR

If you prefer to make one of your own then simply either open up photoshop or fireworks or even paint if you have neither of those two and start pasting pictures together that you like.

My last wallpaper was a collection of my goals, such as the car i wanted, the places i wanted to visit in the background, a new laptop and a love heart to find love!

But your’s can be whatever its your goals and your choice!

You simply click on the tab called “Desktop” as shown in the screenshot below and then click “Browse” and find the image you want to change it to! And then click OK!

So right now my wallpaper if of a beach (below) because that relates to my “goals list” of “travel the world” and soon enough im going to be the one who’s taking pictures like this with me behind the lense (or looking stupid in front of it).

Oh and BTW my desktop isn’t usually this clean and that isn’t dirty videos that im downloading LOL!

So i have to admit i use to be the idiot as i now refer to them who approached other people either who had list’s or had money to invest or were even just in the same industry and who i thought would make a good partner [note write a post about JV partners].

I would contact them and tell them i had this amazing idea and that i was looking to partner up with someone and it would make millions and change the face of “marketing or whatever it was” forever.

Now 9 times out of 10 i would be shot down! Told how stupid i was or basically just told that they were not interested, usually followed by them never talking to me again or simply blocking me.

Not a good response at all!

And the 1 out of 10 people (probably a lot lower number than that) that showed some interest then turned around and either didn’t have any money to invest or were even further down the “ladder” than i was and would have provided no value at all to being a partner with.

So why on earth was every single amazing idea (some which i have now single handily gone out and done and made good money with) that i had all that time ago, shot down by so many people and never a viable investment or either money or time?

Because that’s all it was! An idea!

Until you turn that idea into something tangible or at least make a start on it and get it to a stage where you have something to show (the more complete the better) the more likely you are going to get an investment.

You have showed your dedicated!

The potential partner can SEE what your talking about!

You have hopefully got it past the point of failure where your not going to quit on it if it doesn’t make you a quick buck soon and you have already over-come most if not all of the problems along the way.

But most importantly you have something worth investing in and that’s where the big difference lies!

You see now im on the other side of the table where people ask me on an almost daily basis if i can invest my time or likewise my money into their “amazing” idea, often asking me to sign NDA’s (non disclosure agreements) or some other legal document which basically says that if i use any part of their idea later in life then they can claim their cut!

So they basically want to use my success, my list, my capital, knowledge and time to make some easy money when all they did was think up an idea and get some legal documents!

Which is why i will never ever sign one and i highly suggest you never sign one too otherwise it could come back to haunt you later in life especially as you don’t have any idea what the idea is before you sign and so could be using even a small part of it already.

Imagine being sued for using someone’s idea that you already do in your business, now that would suck!

Anyhow to sum up here if you have an idea then try it out and try to make it work on your own! If you need help then hire it or ask for it politely and remember there is always another way around getting something done or doing something even if you have to give away a part of your business.

But most importantly an idea is never an investment opportunity!

Back in 2008 i use to be obsessed with yahoo answers, i could literally do 100 or so posts a day there across a few different accounts promoting different stuff and make some really decent money.

First method was actually making my own questions and replying to them with a different account and even better using them to target longtail keywords for quick automatic 1st page rankings (most often 1st position too)
Second method was just simply answering every single question related to my niches and dropping a link!

BUT one crucial thing ive missed out so far is the updates and any bug fixes if yahoo answers changes, and actually overall they have been really good with this!

And after completely failing with google plus and their old attempt at social marketing with the complete flop of buzz they now turn to trying to “restore the serps” with another panda update.

But as always with anything google does they hire some technical jargon writer to put out their update information encoded and surrounded by complicated words, formulas and really revealing nothing!

Even worse this time though they are even contradicting themselves when it comes to how they now weigh anchor text with the following 2 statements (official site here)…

Tweaks to handling of anchor text. [launch codename "PC"] This month we turned off a classifier related to anchor text (the visible text appearing in links). Our experimental data suggested that other methods of anchor processing had greater success, so turning off this component made our scoring cleaner and more robust.

And then you go on to say…

“Better interpretation and use of anchor text. We’ve improved systems we use to interpret and use anchor text, and determine how relevant a given anchor might be for a given query and website.”

Confusing? i thought so too!

So anyway Ive been busy listening on the underground SEO chat rooms with massive discussions about how peoples sites have been reacting since this update and here is the low down….

In a nutshell the things that have been hit are those high PR network such as ALN (which focused on medium [at best] quality content being pumped around domains purchased JUST for the sake of being able to post more in the network) and BMR (which focused more on quality content as each article had to be unique but with an average post being only 150 words hiring people as cheap as possible to write half assed articles full of grammatical errors and hardly readable it wasn’t surprising either).

Overall it looks like this has been done completely manually! Rather than with a search alogo coded in to do it automatically.

And if you have had sites in these networks or any other High PR network and you haven’t yet had it de-indexed then watch out as I’m sure it will happen soon enough!

But why haven’t all the domains been hit?

Put simply why would they? There are still 1000′s of people using these networks, still posting content and for now still climbing higher in the serps than they have ever been able to before.

If they were to de-index every domain then it would simply mean that they would stop everyone for now until a new network popped up and then they would have to re-do all that work again to get all of the links and penalize that one.

This way they are the one’s pulling the trigger and they choose when they want to pull it!

As a result of this…

We now know that google is actively penalizing sites for the links they have which before was a complete myth and normally just an effect of the sandbox to “test the waters” (will cover this in another post).

Which goes completely against what google has been actively saying it will never do before but now it seems they have completely switched sides.

NOW YOU CAN PENALIZE YOUR COMPETITION!

So although i personally don’t condone or recommend doing this because ethically it is so wrong if you suddenly notice a load of links coming in that you haven’t made and are just too good or un-natural looking then this is probably what your competitor is doing to you!

How do they penalize you?

Simple put there are 2 methods they use *(this is just for information)!

1st. Start building backlinks to your site using the networks like aln and bmr that have already been hit once and hit hard and will more than likely get hit again very very soon too resulting in anyone who uses them receiving a penalty unless something drastic changes.

2nd. This has kinda always worked but never as easily as now! You basically use your own network of sites that are preferably high PR and so have Authority in googles currently naive eyes to build backlinks to your competitor, wait until they are indexed and then delete them ALL and re-index the pages/domain without their links there. Nothing says your website sucks like 100′s or 1000′s of authority sites then removing your links especially all at once!

So where do we stand now and what’s the future of SEO?

Unfortunately it’s really hard to know for sure but here is my take on things…

Personally i feel this is a way for google to get rid of the small time marketers, just rank the big brands,the true authority websites and the websites that grow virally or naturally rather than faking it.

Right now when you use google to search for things lots of even longtail keywords are bringing up the same sites in the results no matter how you re-word. But I’m not talking about just 1 or 2, I’m talking about all 10 or 5 or more sites being exactly the same.

Aside from that it’s the older site that haven’t been touched for months, that have had NO backlinks built in even sometimes years and overall are actually of a lower quality than the websites that were ranking which obviously had a lot of money put into them for the SEO and so had good content that gave the visitor what they wanted and directed them in the right way (even if it was to a product or service).

So how do we survive?

Most people Ive talked to are currently moving into local seo and business services for offline clients now because they are either waiting for the next update to see how things turn out or b). they are adapting their business models!

Me personally I’m just adapting and actually started doing this about 3 months ago so had a slight head start but now I’m really powering forward with it!

If your going to build things for yourself to earn you money and not work for others then you need to focus on the following…

Not relying on Google!

-You can still build links and try to rank but it can’t be the foundation to you succeeding or not) and if you are then please BUY an aged authority domain so you can’t get hit as easily!

Work on OTHER Traffic sources!

- Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Article Directorys (with good articles) and web 2.0 sites, Flickr etc!

Make GOOD Content!

- This has been the foundation of any site before and if you have a good site with good content people will share it! So make sure it is sharable too!

Make a Product or Service Instead!

- Instead or promoting a product via SEO move your business model so you actually own the product or service and promote it!

Open up an Affiliate Program!

- Affiliates drive traffic no matter if your ranking 1st or 1000th for your keywords so get them on board and sending you traffic to make sales!

Build a List!

- Many internet marketers do this but only in the IM field so branch out and use it in other industry’s, then if you get hit then you have something you can still use to make money with!

This ended up being a fairly long post so sorry for that but it’s something i feel really strongly about and have personally been effected by on a number of sites!

That was until i remembered something which i use to use (well it was automatic) and then completely forgot about when i updated firefox and the Firefox spell checker just didn’t work anymore.

So while it’s fresh in my mind i did some research, re-enabled it and then came here to tell you how to do it too!

How To Enable The Firefox Spell Checker…

Let’s take a look….

Type about:configin address bar and press enter.

Now in the filter field, type the following value- layout.spellcheckDefault

The default value of this parameter is 1. Double click on this parameter and change the value to 2.

Close config file and now open any page which has a text box and check for wrong spelling (no restart required).

Note: In case the spell check is still not enabled, right click on the text box and enable spell check.

Still not working? visit the firefox official help page!

There you have it, how to turn yourself from a dumb idiot who can’t spell at all into an educated Harvard PHD degree in spelling in 5 minutes ha ha!

No but on a more serious note people do form a picture of the person you are by the words you write and spelling things correctly just makes sure that that image of who you are is higher or un-tainted by your spelling.

Sounds stupid i know but it’s true and I’m sure you remember a few times you have seen people who’s spelling is so atrocious that you just think to yourself “what an idiot”!
