Olympia, Washington – December 1, 2012 – The Fish Tale Brew Pub, an Olympia area gem, will be featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Guy Fieri knows great food when he sees it and the staff of the Fish Tale Brew Pub know how to deliver. Locally-sourced foods which highlight the Pacific Northwest are what the Fish Tale Brewpub is all about; watch Guy Fieri roll into Washington’s capitol for Fish Tale’s Bangers and Mash. This brewpub favorite features two hand-cast English-style sausages, sautéed carrots and garlic-mashed potatoes.

Food Network host, Guy Fieri, brought the “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” crew to this Olympia area favorite for filming in October, selected from a field of over fifty other hot spots in the south Puget Sound, to get down and dirty with this modern version of the English classic. Guy had his work cut out for him deciding which of the popular menu items to choose. While filming, it was apparent to those on set that Fieri would have also liked to try some of the other menu items as well since “he was also sneaking bites of the Fish Tacos and the nachos” confessed Fish Tale Brew Pub Head Chef, Kerin Lewis.

Also featured on the show will be the Brew Pub’s Crab Cannelloni—a mixture of Dungeness crab, shrimp and ricotta in an eggroll wrapper and baked in a roasted red pepper cream sauce and served with side Caesar salad.

“This is such an incredible honor for our entire Fish Tale Brew pub family after over a decade of commitment and hard work. Words cannot describe how thrilled we are to have our story broadcasted to the rest of the country,” Max DeJarnatt, who manages the brewpub, said. “We can barely contain our excitement because we want to share this achievement with the community that has supported us over the years!”

“When the red Camaro pulled up in front of the restaurant at our downtown location in Olympia, it was fun to watch people as they began to realize what was going on,” DeJarnatt recounts the scene on the street. “Everyone had a great time and Guy Fieri was really good about letting the staff and the regulars get their Triple D fill.” After all the hoopla died down and Fieri left the brew pub, DeJarnatt reflected on the experience and said, “Now we know that people really love our food and we’ve accomplished something.

Recently, Fish Tale Brew Pub opened a second location two hours north of Olympia in Everett directly across from the Comcast Arena. Featuring the hand-crafted beers and ciders of its parent brewery, Fish Brewing Company the brewpub’s fare, decor and namesake are inspired by its flagship brewpub in Olympia, Washington.

The show is currently scheduled to air at 10PM ET/PT on February 11, 2013 on the Food Network.

EVERET, WA, August 5, 2011 – The Fish Tale Brewpub opened its doors in Everett Washington today at Broadway and Hewitt directly across from the Comcast Arena. Featuring the hand-crafted beers and ciders of its parent brewery, Fish Brewing Company the brewpub’s fare, decor and namesake are inspired by its flagship brewpub in Olympia, Washington.

“Craft beer is meant to be shared and enjoyed with good company,” said Jeff Wells, Director of Marketing for Fish Brewing Company. “The local and organic entrees, vibrant atmosphere and attentive service at the Fish Tale Brewpub will allow our guests to enjoy our highly- acclaimed ales with a light snack or an entire meal.” The Brewpub will feature the award-winning beers and ciders of Fish Brewing Company: Fish Tale Ales, Leavenworth Biers, Spire Mountain Ciders and it’s newest brand Reel Ales.

The 175-seat Everett brewpub is family friendly and features a variety of seating options, including high-top tables, high-back chairs and bar seating. The menu is the fruit of years of hard work and dedication from the flagship brewpub’s staff, brewers, cooks and servers.
Samples of the menu include:

- Fish Tacos – Arctic Cod, jack cheese, spicy jalapeno-cilantro sauce, pico de gallo and cabbage
- Pub Sausage – in-house stuffed Bratwurst, Jagerwurst or Kielbasa with kraut and caramelized onion

- New Zealand Lamb Burger – with organic mixed greens, roasted red peppers & tzatziki dressing
- Fried Wild Salmon & Chips – lightly breaded in our own Fish Tale Ale batter

“Fish Tale Brewpub is the perfect pre-game and post-game destination for our visitors and residents,” said Nick Bernard, General Manager of The Fish Tale Brewpub. “Our convenient location across from Comcast Arena makes us a natural stop on game and event nights.”

Everett’s Economic Development Director Lanie McMullin hailed the announcement as part of the city’s effort to grow downtown’s appeal. “The development of downtown Everett is important to my administration,” McMullin said. “We recognize that maintaining a critical mass of retail is needed for existing and future downtown residents, as well as building an attractive visitor and tourist market. Fish Brewing Co. will be a welcome addition to the existing mix of eclectic and one-of-a-kind restaurants and shops already there.”

The Fish Tale Brew Pub is located at 2019 Hewitt (at Broadway). The restaurant and the lounge are open Monday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Prices range from $4.95 – $17.95 a dish.

Fish Tale Organic Ales have garnered a piece of print immortality. In his newly-released work, Product Design in the Sustainable Era, author Dalcacio Reis devotes a two-page spread to Fish Tale. The book is from the Cologne, Germany-based publishing house Taschen.

A 440-page compendium of innovative products designed “with future generations in mind,” the volume’s Fish Tale pages come in the book’s sixth chapter, “Retail Products”. Other chapters focus on electronics, energy, furniture, home & appliances, lighting, sports & apparel, and miscellanea.

“Of course, we’re elated,” said Fish Brewing’s Director for Arts & Crafts, Scott Miller. “Mr. Reis contacted us nearly a year ago explaining the book and inviting us to submit materials for consideration. Naturally, we sent the kitchen sink, hoping we’d be lucky enough to land a logo or a photo of the brewery. Two entire pages—that was a bit beyond our wildest imaginings.”

Typical of Taschen publications, the book is graphics-rich. On Fish Tale’s pages, both the hoped-for Fish Tale Organic Ales brand logo and the brewery shot appear, as well as Fish Tale Organic Ales style logos and product shots.

Also featured in side-by-side English, German, and French translations are two paragraphs of Fish Tale’s philosophy on clean water. In addition, the pages include Fish Tale’s web address, organic certifier, and awards, plus the names of the Mighty Fish Brewers.

Famed for its multi-lingual volumes on art, design, and culture, Taschen lists Product Design in the Sustainable Era at $39.99.

Hot on the heels of their break-out triumph in Los Angeles (see Leavenworth Biers Win Big, below), two Leavenworth Biers have again been honored by a discerning jury.

This time, judges from the World Beer Championships weighed in. Their verdict: Gold Medal ranking for Boulder Bend Dunkelweizen, and Bronze for Whistling Pig Hefeweizen. The WBC results mirrored those from the LA International Commercial Beer Competition, where judges also awarded Gold to Boulder Bend and Bronze to Whistling Pig.

“For Leavenworth Biers, this has surely been a compelling month of vindication and redemption,” observed Fish Brewing Company’s Chief Operating Officer, Al Triplett. “Sixteen years since the brand’s last medal, now this: five medals in four week’s time. Already, there is talk of optioning this story for the Guy Network’s Afternoon Movie of the Week.”

Founded in 1994, the World Beer Championships claims the title of America’s oldest international beer competition. In format, it is unique among beer competitions.

Rather than judging multiple styles at a single event, WBC juries convene every other month to judge beers in style groupings. Judges review these groupings on a rotating calendar.

The WBC’s June/July panels judged Wheat Beers in categories including Dunkelweizen, Bavarian-style Hefeweizen, Kristall Weizen, Weizen Bock, Berliner Weisse, Filtered & Unfiltered Wheat Ale, White/Wit Beer, and Flavored Wheat Beer.

Results from the Wheat Beer judging will appear the August issue of Tastings, a publication of the Beverage Testing Institute. Based in Chicago, the BTI organizes the World Beer Championship.
