Just came back to California, form a trip to Nicaragua. The case worked great, nothing inside got dammaged. One of the locking latches (on the outside of case) got slightly bent and needed to be straightened out to unlatch it but that was minor. I had six rods in the case, a six foot 40 to 100# troling rod, one eleven foot two piece surf rod, two seven foot rods, one seven foot two piece rod and two three piece travel rods. It was a little work to get them all arranged to fit but getting them all bundled up before inserting them is the key to making it work. The case came with three straps for bundling the rods. I went to a local hardware store and for a few dollars purchased several packages of fifteen inch Velcro straps that helped to get the rods bundeled more easily. I had also purchased the large Bazooka case at the same time as this case, figuring I'd use which ever looked best when they arrived. I looked at multiple tubes and cases from all of the vendors on the market and found this to be the strongest shell and design. I purchased this case primarily due to the ability to store rods with an overall length up to 7 feet 2 inches that works well for my spinning rods. The triangular tube shape also appears to be more solid construction and is less bulky than the Bazooka and other similar models. The handle and carrying strap make it easy to cart around. I also like the locking mechanism since this is made with real hardware that provides for two locks. Great product and travels very well.

Pretty well designed. I went with this one instead of a collapsible due to the price and the deal I got. If you don't have a full-size pickup with a six foot bed or a vehicle with roof rails, I would suggest a different design.

Great looking huge reel. First day using it, first cast, hooked an almost 80" bluefin tuna. Landed after 1 1/2 hours. The reel got a little scary sounding towards the end of the fight. Upon inspection, I noticed the large drag washer edges were shredded, the anti reverse pawl was damaged and the pawl ring was also damaged. I can order the parts from Fin-Nor for about $15. For $133, I could buy 4 Fin-Nor's for the price of one Stella. For $15 I can fix mine. This reel handled and almost 400# Bluefin tuna. $133 reel. Sounds like a no brainer. If I had $800-$1000 I could spend on a new spinning reel, I'd still buy a Fin-Nor and use the extra to go fishing.

I haven't used my reel yet, but I did purchase it without knowing a lot about the reel. Since I have purchased the Fin Nor reel, I have done some more research into pricing, and functionality. It was on average, a cost saving of around $70 AUS in comparison to the same reel from other fishing retailers within AUS.
My plan is to have it set up primarily as a trolling reel for MACKERAL, and the secondary use will be for jigging for Samson fish.

Case works great, even comes with padding on both ends. Suggestion to avoid TSA breaking your rods during inspection - only extend the middle section to the length of the rods and then put a zip tie through the hole so it won't move. The top section will still extend and be available for TSA to remove for inspection, but it won't collapse below the length of the rods and snap the tips when they put it back on.

Our $500.00 Parade Flags fit into the case and are protected. They get tossed onto trucks, into airplanes etc... We keep 2 - 4 flags in each case. So that is $2000.00 worth of gear. If you are looking for a compact, user friendly GPS Chartplotter/Sounder; buy this one. Garmin is the best, most fairly priced plotter/sounders available. My only regret was not buying the 541s. That 1 inch make a difference. I've been on the water ny whole life and for the money the 441s and 541s are the best plotters available. Amazon has the best prices on them too. WOuld have recieved 5 stars but add and tech infor doesn't state how long the transducer wire is. I took a chance and it fit with some room to spare. Transducer wire is 25-30 ft long. I also recommend buying the transducer with speed and water temp.

Not bad just a little hard to set up the different screens on it.
But with nothing added right out of the box you can do quite a few things it has a tracking thing it has a speedometer and charts of where you are going and where you have been it has a chart plotter a man over board maker a track marker quite a lot and it does quite a bit without adding the transducer or antenna or any of the other add-on's it is easy to wire up to the boat there are a lot of wires when you open it up and it scared the crap out of me they were maybe 20 or 30 wires but do not worry you only need couple of them A Positive and a ground and thats pretty much it for the basic operation and like I said you really get a lot in my opinion..

The description leads one to believe it has a U.S. base map installed. Unless I'm doing something wrong it has no map what so ever. Be prepared to spend another $99 to upload any kind of map. Yes, it is of good quality. Installation is a snap. Most of us will only use the ground and hot wire. More advanced installation will provide you with leads to your radio and other communication devices. Ease of use is good, you will have to page through a lot to find what you want though. One thing I really don't like is once you mark your position you have to page forward twice to name it then scrolling through the alphabet characacters is like pulling teeth. Don't get me wrong. I will rate it good for value, just remember you get what you pay for. If I had to do it all over I would spend the extra money for a better model.

Love my new waders... Can't wait to go fishing & try them out. I am about 5'5" & weigh about 165 lbs. I usually wear a size 10 or 12 in jeans. I have a longer torso & shorter legs than the average 5'5" lady. I ordered a size large. The legs & feet are a really long but they fit fine in the torso, with enough room to move around. The longer legs will be helpful since we ride 4-wheelers to our fishing spot. I will be able to get on & off of the 4-wheeler easier & more comfortably.

When needing a pair of waders this spring, I decided to try these waders. Hodgman has always put out quality products and I liked the idea of PVC boots. I do like the fact that these waders are very light. I have only worn them 3 times this spring and have already wore a hole in each leg of the wader. The holes are on the inside of the leg on the seam, and I can only surmise they are from rubbing together when walking. It seems that the manufacturer did not take this into consideration when putting the seams on the inside of the leg. Poor design. The uppers are a little long and bunch up, but does not cause any discomfort. Boot size runs large, but I prefer that anyways, in case I have to evacuate the waders in a hurry.

This Pontoon boat is the Best. I am disabled and had to give up fishing from a boat because I have had 4 total joint replacements which include 1 knee and 1 hip so I am very unstable on my feet. Thanks to classic Accessories and the Colorado XT I am back on the water fishing my fool head off. It has a whole lot of storage space. the 2 side bags make great soft tackle boxes. I have purchased Plano plastic storage units and put all my tackle in them. there are also 2 storage pouches one on each pontoon close enough so you can access them from your seat while you are on the water. I have seen other units that have the storage on the pontoons and most of them are too far away to access them from a seated position. SO if you have a hard time fishing from a boat because of a disablity I highly recommend you get one of these boats and throw a trolling motor on and your good... Read more

Penn has made a very solid reel in the Slammer Series. However there is one design flaw, that depending on how you fish, might be a dealbreaker. I fish from the surf, not from a boat, and as a result my reels are often soaked by waves. The drag on the Penn Slammer, when it gets wet, becomes useless... basically it sticks to itself, then gets very loose, then sticks... not smooth like it operates when dry. As a result this reel is all but useless to me. Fishing from a boat, you may not have any issues with it at all. But for me, it's a dealbreaker.

I had purchased this just before a trip to the coast to go sharking and I was in a rush because I had just learned my former reel had paid the price of being used in salt water for years. I had done some quick research and found the penn slammer series. While there are only 2 of them you can use for sharking, I was surprised at the amount of features for the price. The fact that you can use braided line without adding a lead monolithic line directly to the reel was the selling point that caught my eye. The gear ratio is set low but not to low just right for a good fight. I landed a 50 lb hammerhead off the bob hall and the fight lasted about 45 minutes. Awesome reel, and came in 2 days with amazon prime.

I have used different float tubes in the past and this Cumberland tube is the best one of the bunch. Instead of sitting in the water you sit above it in a high quality chair with a mess pocket on the back for a jacket. There is heavy duty mesh screening for a floor behind the chair that can be used for a fish holding station, but I prefer to use a wire basket hanging over the side to make it easier to remove the fish. There are two large tackle pockets on each side each with a drink holder. Two plastic flat boxes can fit in each of these pockets. Each tackle pouch has a heavy duty zipper on both sides of the pouch with a pull handle for pulling open both zippers at the same time. It is easy to inflate with the Boston air valves. I use a 12 volt air pump which attachés to the DC. power outlet in the car. Once you take it out to knee deep water you can sit down and slide the striping apron into the two pockets on each float and your all set to either kick propel your way to... Read more

I just got my combo today and I'm very happy with it. I needed to replace a rod that I broke and I didn't want to spend a lot. I chose Wild Water because of the price and the warranty. The shipping was free and super fast (UPS to Hawaii) which was great. Looks wise the rod is very basic, black wraps on dark grey, single stripping guide. Shiny metal (steel?) reel seat is a nice touch though. The reel is also very entry level but it's large arbor entry level which is nice. I took the setup out on a small stream for smallmouth and the thing was like butta. The casting was smooth and almost effortless. Full disclosure: I don't own any high end rods so I can't tell you "Casts better than my Winston (Loomis, Orvis, Sage, whatever)" but it sure casts better than my previous rod which was part of a Cabelas starter kit. The fly was going where I wanted it way more often than I'm used to. The slow action on this rod is said to be good for beginners, so I'll use this one to teach my sons to fly... Read more

I just retired and have always wanted to learn fly fishing. I looked around and after much checking decided on this starter package. It has everything you need to get going. Not knowing much about the equipment myself, I asked the guys at the anglers club that I had joined. They all agreed that it was a pretty good deal. I did want a spare spool for the reel and called Wild Water directly. I actually spoke with Eric Dodds, the owner, who was a great help. He sent me a spare spool at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this package.

"I have been teaching fly fishing for many years and have always been asked "what is a good starter set for beginners?". I have always had reservations about starter sets, as most are junk. I had some experience with Wild Water so I gave these a try. They are in my opinion the best starter sets I have used. Several of my students have purchased them either as a 1st rod, or as a replacement for another manufacturers starter set and all have been very pleased. They should have the term "just add water" with them as they are complete. Anyone starting the sport or wanting an affordable set for a family member should grab this."

Purchased the "lefty" version of this reel and I am totally satisfied with the quality and function of this reel. This was my first baitcaster and I wanted quality. The Abu Garcia Revo reels are professional grade fishing tools and are as good or better than anything out their. Amazon and its partner offer good prices for these items as well. High points for this reel are the easy brake adjustments, the super powerful drag, they are reasonably light, and, oh yeah, they catch fish. I have since bought more Abu baitcasters including another couple SX's. They are an excellent value.

I have borrowed several different float tubes from friends for fishing trips, and I have also used inflatable kayaks and Zodiac-style boats. When I was finally ready to buy a float tube of my own, I bought this one.

After taking it on its first fishing trip, this is what I can report:

First, I was amazed to discover that the designers of this tube apparently expect you to blow it up entirely with your lungs!!! The only air valve on the two pontoons is a tube about the size of a large drinking straw with a twist-to-close cap. Every other inflatable watercraft I've ever used has dual-sized inflation valves-- that is, one opening about 1" in diameter, and another that is about 0.5" in diameter, which can be easily inflated with an air pump and quickly deflated at the end of the day. I even bought an air pump at the same time that I bought this tube, expecting a similar valve system. Luckily one of the adapters on my air pump kind of fits over the drinking straw... Read more

I am exceptionally please with my Togiak float tube. Unlike a previous reviewer, I really prefer the seat blocks in the tube as they provide a comfortable, stable and bouyant platform that keeps me sitting up high in the water unlike many tubes. The cover material is strong and the stitching and other workmanship appears to be very good. I really enjoy this boat.

I'm new to float tubes. But, I do my research. I was surprised to see how well this "budget priced" tube stood up against it's high end counterparts!

Watching small mouth bass jumping at eye level, just a few feet away, gave me a whole new outlook on fishing! No rumbling motor, no gasoline smell, no tangling your line with the 6 other people who keep crowding you on the shoreline. :-)

Pros:
TONS of pockets! I mean, seriously. I loaded nearly all of my fishing tackle on one side of the boat, leaving the other FIVE pockets pretty much empty! PLUS, there's the mesh area behind the seat. Load that area lightly, it will affect your paddling if you load it heavy. There are also 3 D-rings on each side. Great for securing items if you're prone to dropping things, like I am.

Nice color. I like earth tones, and was a little leary of "gold" (I don't want to look like a flower to the bees!) But, it's a darker gold color, I think it's more of a dark spicy... Read more

purchased a 100-foot spool of the 10-lb test, along with a 100-pack of the size 0 (0.025) sleeves to build some light tackle leaders for fishing in the Gulf surf...

one of the leaders i built handled ladyfish (which normally abrade and cut bare 4-lb test mono) and also helped me land a nice 2-lb pompano on 4-lb test - tons of fun, and no more lost rigs!

SUGGESTION FOR MANUFACTURER: Include a chart showing the proper sleeve size to order with leader test.

- btw, this stuff also works great for tripwire or QRP antennae

Have tried tons of flouro lines over the years. This is my favorite. I have this line spooled on all my reels except my topwater outfits. (Not a braid guy) Flouro sinks and interferes with the action of a topwater. Have found this line to be the most mono like of the flouros as regards handling and softness. Highly recommend. One caveat - make sure you really wet your knots well before drawing down or you will cause a weak spot in the line. I think everyone who has complained about breakage with this line has failed to wet their knots properly. As long as you make sure to inspect your new knots to make sure that you did not damage the line, this line will not let you down. One can spend much more on flouro but I just don't see the point.

I have used this line now for the past 5 years and all I can say is incredible. I fish bass tournaments in some very clear lakes in Michigan and this line has always outproduced others I have tried. It was the line diameter to strength ratio that first drew my attention to this line and with the light refraction almost the same as water, this line is very close to being invisible underwater.
