Fishing is one of the most popular outdoor sporting activities in the world and it is practiced by millions and millions of fishermen from across the globe. Some consider bass fishing to be the most exciting type of fishing but getting properly prepared for this type of activity can be a hard thing to do that is why with this article we will try to create a much clearer image about one of the most important components of bass fishing, the lures which can make a difference in any fishing days.

What you have to keep in mind is that are different types of lures which can help you make a good catch but it greatly depends on knowing how to properly use such a lure and most important, when. Of course you also need to know that some lures only work for specific species of fish and using them for the rest will not offer you the expected results. The specific type of lure you need to use will also greatly depend on whether you want to opt for fishing in the shallow waters or in deeper ones.

If you are willing to start bass fishing in shallow waters that are medium deep, you need to be aware of the fact that you have many possibilities as far as the set of lures you can opt for. One of the most effective lures are considered to be crank baits but be careful that there many type of crank bait lures, some of them you can use for top-water fishing. At this depth, you might want to use streamers, spoons, wet-flies or minnow plugs. An alternative would be to use heavier artificial worms, as they can be efficient in waters that are not that shallow.

However, for shallow waters, fishermen recommend using plugs, spinner baits, plastic lures that float on the water or buzz baits. If you plan on fishing in late summer, you should bring jigging spoons, tubes and lead-heads, if you want to fill the bag. Another important aspect of bass fishing that you need to be aware of is that having the right lure for the depth of the water is not enough as the lures cannot catch the fish themselves (would be great if they could, no?).

What you need to do is to learn and practice to use them properly as they will only aid you in making fishing easy. All types of lures have their own proper ways and specific times to use that is why you must learn and practice using them. All of the lures can be efficient for as long as you know what you are doing.

For beginners we recommend starting with a fairly inexpensive line because many amateurs will make mistakes the first time, it is normal. The bright colored popper baits need to be used by casting the line and let it rest for a while and then pop it back. Especially for beginners you will need to see how that works, to get accommodated with the technique but after you get the hang of it, you will be catching bass in no time.

After reading this article you will be able to learn the basics of what to look for in a top notch bass fishing rod so stay tuned. However, choosing a quality rod for bass fishing can be a tricky thing to do but it can also be quite enjoyable. The first step you will have to accomplish is to think of the reel you will use as well as the lures you prefer utilizing.

After deciding on these two components, you now need to focus upon price, strength and sensitivity. We strongly recommend that you take the reel when you are out looking for a new rod because only this way you can decide if the combination rod/reel is properly balanced and you feel if it is comfortable or not. Logically, you will need to make up your mind regarding the spinning rod or the bait casting. After that, take into account the lures you use (crank baits, plastics, jigs spinner baits) or if you prefer mixing them up. A multi-purpose rod is available and in most cases is a decent solution with the current choices available but you have to keep in mind that it will never excel when you will be using a specific technique.

For first time bass fishing amateurs, we strongly recommend this type of rod as it offers the most balanced compromise but if you are not a beginner, choose something that will suit your needs. In most cases, a rod can be used with hard baits like crank baits for example which will require a softer rod tip and significantly less sensitivity. The reason for all of this is that there will be considerably less pressure on the rod in achieving the hook set. If you prefer using lures such as worms, jigs or plastics such as senkos, you will need to use a rod with stiffer tip and improved sensitivity because the hook set is abrupt and you will need to be aware when the fish is “taking the bait”.

You also need to consider to the power as well as the action of the rod. A medium to heavy power rod with fast action might be exactly what you need for your fishing style. The rod’s power rating will give you the needed information as to the exact stiffness of the rod along with info about where the action of the rod describes the curvature. The faster the action is on the rod, the more it will bend closer to the tip. On the opposite side, the slower the action is, the bend will be closer to the middle of the rod.

As a matter of fact, you will actually use more of the rod in casting with a slower action rating, but you must balance this with the lures you prefer using for catching bass. As far as the prices are concerned, do not go with one of the extreme, with other words do not buy the expensive rod you find and also do not get the cheapest one, something in between will do just fine.

Fish are more active during the fall, winter and spring months due to the cooler weather. A variety of watermelon green plastic worms Texas and Carolina rigged. Early morning is an anglers dream on this lake…top water baits are just about anything that floats.

Lake Amistad Texas (TX), Located on the Rio Grande River, it is 12 miles NW of Del Rio in Val Verde County Texas.
* Surface area is 64,900 acres. Maximum depth is 217 feet
* Lake Amistad was impounded in 1969
* Conservation Pool Elevation is 1117 feet
* Lake Fluctuation: Depends on area rainfall and downstream irrigation needs. Annual fluctuations can be as much as 5-10 feet. However, historical fluctuations have dropped as much as 50 feet below conservation pool. Normal Clarity is slightly stained to clear.

Known for it’s great bass fishing. Fisherman come from far and wide to fish Lake Amistad. In addition to great Bass fishing, there is an abundance of Catfish, White and Striped Bass. Smallmouth Bass are also stocked, which makes it the perfect fishing trip for the whole family.

Predominant Fish Species: Largemouth bass, Catfish, White & hybrid striped bass.

Largemouth Bass are more active during the fall, winter and spring months due to the cooler weather. Fish are active much longer during daylight hours and are normally found in shallow water early morning and late afternoon For active fish, spinner baits and crank baits are most fisherman’s choice. A variety of watermelon green plastic worms seems to work well during the hotter months fished in grass. Early morning top water baits are just about anything that floats. Normally Poppers, Prop Baits or Flukes.

There are many locations throughout the world that are known for their majestic fishing grounds. However, Thailand fishing is considered by many fishing experts to be some of the best fishing that they have experienced. This is due in part to the unique varieties of fish that are in this specific location. Namely the snakehead fish which is considered to one the hardest and greatest catches that a fisherman can ever make. Therefore, if you are looking for the ultimate fishing experience in Thailand then you should consider snakehead fishing.

One reason that snakehead fishing is so popular is due to the uncanny strength of the snakehead. Snakeheads are known to break poles and to easily capsize smaller boats when they are caught on a line. Additionally, without the use of proper fishing equipment this type of fish can easily snap a line in one bite and steal a fisherman’s lures or even their entire pole in an instant. The power of their jaw has been compared to that a shark! However, their strength alone is not the only reason why snakehead fishing is so popular when compared to other types of Thailand fishing.

Another reason why snakehead fishing is so popular is due to the size of the fish. When it comes to making that “big catch” that fishermen dream of, the snakehead is easily considered to be one of the largest catches that can be made from average fishing. Most snakeheads will weigh forty pounds or more and will come in at about three feet in length! This makes the snakehead the perfect fish to brag to your friends about in photos once you have made a catch during your Thailand fishing experience.

When considering planning a Thailand fishing trip you should immediately seek out the unique services of a company like Asian Angling Adventures. They are experts when it comes to assisting individuals, families, or groups in planning out a snakehead fishing trip. Their combined years of experience can provide you with a guide who is familiar with Thailand fishing and who knows the area. This will provide you with peace of mind knowing that you will end up in a location that is well known for snakehead fishing and will get you one step closer to making your next “big catch.”

With Asian Angling Adventures you can plan a snakehead fishing expedition around your vacation or next trip to Thailand. They offer single day fishing expeditions that you can attend as an individual or with a group. You can even schedule your Thailand fishing trip with them in advance to ensure that you have a guide when you attend. This will greatly improve your overall chances of making a catch and will also ensure that you are kept safe during your trip. Additionally, these guides provided by Asian Angling Adventures can teach you a few tricks that will help you when it comes to snakehead fishing.

Don’t neglect Thailand fishing. If you want a truly unique and exciting fishing experience then you have to schedule a Thailand fishing trip as quickly as possible.

With Asian Angling Adventures you can plan an entire Thailand fishing adventure with ease. Snakehead fishing and excitement awaits you on the open waters of the Thailand fishing grounds.

“Kayak fishing hand paddles do what?” I first asked myself after hearing about them. “That’s all they cost?” I questioned, once I heard the story and realized their benefit!

How many kayak fishermen have struggled with their ability to hold their fishing pole and paddle their kayak at the same time?

Think about it. Can you hold your fishing rod and paddle your kayak at the same time?

“This is going to be hilarious” The line was ripping off and the big red was hell bent for the mangrove roots. Sitting in a saltwater lagoon ten yards away, I mused at what was unfolding. “The look on Andy’s face as he tried to grab his kayak paddle, hold his fishing rod, fight the fish, and figure out how to do it all with two hands was priceless!”

To Andy’s credit, he did finally manage to land a nice thirty inch redfish. Despite the fact that during that melee, he dropped his kayak paddle, had to get out of his boat, lost one shoe and waded at least 25 yards! Fish on Andy!

It takes two hands to wrangle a seven foot kayak paddle, no matter how you hold it. Throw in a fishing pole, and you soon realize you need three hands! Paddling your kayak and fishing at the same time became a comedy on the water.

Kayak Fishing Hand Paddles are the answer to the kayak angler’s dilemma. The introduction of these revolutionary designed paddles has brought simplicity, mobility and stealth into the kayak fishing arena.

This paddle or fish dilemma has finally been addressed. Kayak fishing hand paddle designs evolved from experienced kayak anglers and sportsmen working closely with the paddle sports manufacturing community.

Valiant efforts in backyard paddle design have resulted in ping pong paddles, Kadema paddles, and other modified racquet devices temporarily fulfilling the kayak paddling quandary. These pioneering anglers could hold onto their fishing rod and with the other hand paddle their boat stealthily.

The kayak fishing hand paddle is a compact and lightweight paddle, specifically designed to use with one hand, while keeping the fishing pole in the other. This simple concept to a complex problem is revolutionizing the sport of kayak fishing.

Once you rig up and wet your line, stow away that seven foot, cumbersome kayak paddle. Place your compact kayak fishing hand paddle close by. When it is time to maneuver your kayak, a few silent strokes of your kayak fishing hand paddle places you back on target. You were stealthy, kept fishing and never spooked your prey. Halleluiah!

Using kayak fishing hand paddles in open waters, where drift control is essential, hand paddles provide simple, one handed tracking. Stick the hand paddle in the water and the blade acts like a basic rudder. No fumbling or cross body flailing a seven foot kayak paddle.

The beauty of the kayak fishing hand paddle solution is the cost! These hand paddles provide more benefit for the cost than any other kayak fishing accessory sold for under $20.00!

For less than a handful of lures, one simple paddle will change your whole kayak fishing game plan. Paddle one handed, chase stealthily and keep fishing.

Yes, you can fish and paddle at the same time, inexpensively!

Many fly fishing enthusiasts around the country spend a lot of money of their fly fishing gears that they end of eroding their bank account just to get the latest gear. This should not be the case. Although having the best fly fishing gear is good, one should never go broke on these things.

If you are one of those people who have been spending a lot of money of their fly fishing gear, it is time for you to take another look at your spending habits. Even if you have some money stashed away in the bank, it is not a good idea to be extravagant especially in these times of economic crisis. To help you save some money on your fly fishing gears, here are some pointers for you.

Buy Only The Things That You Need

A lot of people waste money on things that they do not really need. If you are one of those impulsive shoppers who tend to buy things that catch their attention while shopping, you better curb you impulses. Buying things on impulse is not a good idea. Besides, you don’t want to end up kicking yourself for wasting your money on something that you cannot hope to use in the near future.

Since you cannot expect to use every available fly fishing gear in a single fishing trip, you might as well just buy what you need and save some money. List down all the things that you will use during your fishing trip and then find out which of these fly fishing gears are already in your possession.

Buy only the things that you do not have yet and do away with those expendable things. If you must buy them, buy only what you need. A lot of your extra leaders, flies and lines will end up decorating your closet anyway so you might as well not buy them in bulk. This way, you get to save some money and at the same time prevent your closet from being cluttered with a lot of things that you do not even need.

Buy Rod And Reel Combination

If you are beginner, you should start by buying discount fly fishing gears like those rod and reel combination. Not only will you be able to save a lot of money on rod and reel combo, you also get to save yourself from all the trouble of trying to find matching rod and reel in different places.

Classic Game Room HD reviews SHIMANO XTREME FISHING for Nintendo Wii. Fish with a bow, spear and rod in this Wii game for fishermen. Shimano Extreme Fishing for Wii is for 1-4 players and uses Wii motion controls to simulate casting a fishing line, reeling in the feel, shooting the fish with a speargun and skewering the little aquatic brats with bow and arrow. Make sea life suffer at your superior human hands. Bag a trophy bass with real Shimano gear while turning up the bass on your stereo to play this game. Feel the thunder of the boat engine (which makes noise mf’r). Hunt gators, carp and mutated sea bass (not mutated, but they should be). Explore North American lakes, Amazon waterfalls and the Pacific reefs! This CGR review of Shimano Xtreme Fishing has gameplay from Shimano Extreme Fishing on Nintendo Wii showing game play from this fishing video game in action in Shimano Xtreme Fishing.
