Disrespectful Advertising

I was riding my bike home tonight and I took a quick shortcut through a quiet neighborhood near St. Luke's Hospital. Cruising down the block, my eyes were suddenly diverted by a series of obnoxious hot pink American Apparel ads. The ads were wheat-pasted all over the boards surrounding a house under construction. I slowed momentarily, rolled my eyes, and pushed on. But further down the block, I thought twice and circled back around to take a second look. In an otherwise non-commercial block, completely devoid of any advertising or commerce, this company had decided it was appropriate to blast everyone with its advertising.

First, for those who aren't reading this via RSS reader, you'll see that I'm in the middle of installing a new WordPress theme. I'm kind of halfway there, so bear with me as I fiddle. Also, if you haven't already seen it, how awesome is it that according to the title drawing I did for last week's post, I apparently think it's 2001. Ah, fuck it. I'm leaving it. It makes me laugh.
