Here are some tips to make the senior portrait deadline at your school, find a Yakima Photographer that's right for you with the little time that is left.

As of this writing the deadline for Yakima senior yearbook portraits is close. Yakima high schools have not release a definite deadline date at this time. Avoid paying late fees to get a portrait in. Also you don’t want to submit some old mug shot… you want to look great, right?

Here are some tips to make the senior portrait deadline at your school and find a Yakima Photographer that is right for you within the little time that is left.

Tip 1: Make the decision right now about what size and quantity photo units you need to satisfy your family members. This should included those in your family you want to give pictures to and those your parent(s) want to bless with this special moment in your life. Use the guide at the bottom of the article.

Tip 2: You must decide what you want the photographer to capture. So decide what style of portrait you want, what you want to wear, if you want to change cloths during the shoot. Try to stay with mid tones not to busy of patterns, and remember the shoes and socks. Senior portraits consist of full body shots and close ups. Take any special props needed for fun and expressive photos. Express yourself… yeah do it.

I’m a lifestyle photographer, I strive to capture my clients in their favorite environment… doing what they do best. Be proactive to make it a fun photography session, to do what you can to insure your true personality is captured.

I won’t stand for a fake background and less than the best vibe from my clients. Twenty years from now my clients and I will remember a very positive photo session.

Tip 3: Remember that you deserve a great photo session. So don’t hesitate to interview photographers to find someone you like… If a photographer doesn’t have time to connect with you prior to the session, she/he/crew will not likely have the time during the shoot to connect with you and get truly creative.

A great question to ask initially is, how much time will be allocated to my photo session? A photographer stretched for time… tight schedule, is not the fun Yakima photographer you’re looking for.

I took an unlimited amount of shoots of this client because of good scheduling. We had a lot of fun being creative on a Terrace Heights location. Our proofing and retouching meeting was just as relaxed. I make every effort not to be rushed during a photo session.

Tip 4: Have the photo session done no later than September 15th. If you are ordering a large unit package have the yearbook picture processed separate from the other shots and express return to make the yearbook deadline. This will avoid having to wait for other units to process.

If you act fast, choosing a photographer who will guarantee to deliver your senior portraits no later than the last week in September… it shouldn’t be a problem.

Take action today so that everything get’s accomplished. [self promotion] I recommend this Yakima photographers services and specials.

Yakima's largest timber fire within the city limits at Boise Cascade. Third fire at this location in three months. Not a photo editing trick, a huge number 3 in the flames.

Yakima Valley’s biggest sawmill was the site of Yakima’s largest timber fire within the city limits. A four alarm fire, what a blaze, forty foot flames and extreme heat, was more then I have ever experienced. Imagine a camp fire times 10,000.

This is actually the third fire at this Boise Cascade location in three months, check the largest flame in the picture below. This is not a photo editing trick. I found it a little spooky capturing a huge number 3 in the flames.

This Yakima fire caused a power outage for the entire downtown area and several neighborhoods until 7pm, most of power is back on but the fire is not nearly out. While taking these pictures I could feel the intense heat from this fire melting my skin, this sawmill blaze has got to be the hottest the firemen have ever fought taking a toll on there bodies, but they are amazing and are fighting this fire diligently.

Strange that on July 18th 2009, The Yakima Herald-Republic did a article stating that the left over logs at old Boise Cascade site raised fire concerns, the log piles remain on the former Boise Cascade property after the sawmill was closed and today Boise Cascade is blazing.

It appeared that the blaze was so huge and hot that they had to let it burn out and control it from spreading. Boise Cascade stored stacked timbers in multiple rows about 50 yards long. It looked like four of these rows were burning and some surrounding grass.

Yakima photographers keep your camera ready at all times. These are not the type of photos that I prefer taking but many site visitors are interested in them.

Looking back at this time in my life it has inspired me to create the "remember the time" photo clock featuring Michael Jackson and many other customizations in our photo clock gallery.

(Repost from July 2009) Remembering the time back in high school, it was Yakima’ s West Valley High for me. We all tried our best to moon walk up and down the halls playing Michael Jackson on the boom box, well some of us. A few had there red and black Michael Jackson leather coat on with a Michael Jackson T-shirt. It was a blast. What pop star did you connect with in high school? Do you remember the time when (just visualize a very special time in your life) you did this or that?

I look back now and I realize that in many towns and cities everyone danced together and the lines of separation were broken. As kids we had fun listening to great music and learning creative dance. Looking back at this time in my life it has inspired me to create the “remember the time” photo clock featuring Michael Jackson and many other customizations in our photo clock gallery. I will always remember the times that Michael Jackson added to high school fun and filled those days with great memories.

A new generation has picked up on the legacy of the greatest entertainer of all time? Just play Micheal’s music. the younger generations listen and love it as we did. My daughter was listening to the radio and asked who was singing the song playing. We told her his name, and she went home and Goggled Michael Jackson, she learned all she could about him. That he is one of a kind and a legend that transformed pop culture to what it is today. He also created comfort between the cultures world wide.

His music inspired her to sing a few of his songs in competitions around the Yakima valley. We recently went to Gary In. to visit family there. My daughter insisted on going to see the house Michael lived in as a small child 2300 Jackson st. She took pictures and it meant so much to her.

2300 Jackson ST. Michael Jackson’s house in Gary IN as a child

On June 25, 2009 the Lord took Michael Jackson home. Michael spread love, joy and peace world wide through his example and his musical message. If you don’t know Michael listen to his songs. He also pioneered action against world hunger through his music. Michael was a genius in his time and just like Einstein he was much misunderstood. I will always remember the time, Michael.
