Teaching profession is considered one of the most respectable job. However, if you go through the last decade politics, one can see how this profession has become one of the dirtiest tool of politics, specially in the cow-belt areas. Reasons are obvious ; first is the number of population aspiring for teaching job and second reason is general perception that somehow getting teaching job in government schools will settle the life of normal human being and above all the foremost reason, which attracted people towards this job was due to heavy demand of teachers in primary level schools, Government introduced many schemes to appoint teachers at very low salary and without any training and test.
In some of the schemes there was compulsion of having B.Ed degree or equivalent , else there was no requirement of any specific training. Such appointment has compelled many unemployed youth to join the teaching job , as they felt at least there is something to do and few bucks.
However, it has also attracted good number of people who somehow have entered in this profession by having fake degree and numbers by hook and crook. They have spoiled the image of teaching profession in general public. This faction always take the help of corrupt and clever politicians to be in that job. Such politicians too encourage them as they are the people who will give them vote and will also attract votes in the name of permanent job and promotion. These teachers are blot on teaching profession . Efforts are going on to curb such elements in teaching profession , but there is long way to go. They have penetrated from the lower level to higher level in the same profession and making the whole system hollow. Unfortunately, due to them innocent teachers are being punished with no fault.

Shiksha Mitra's Future : Salary and Permanent Appointment

The general perception about Shiksha Mitras teaching method and performance across Uttar Pradesh is very good. After the announcement of training and absorbing them as assistant teacher has boost their confidence and thus they are hopeful about future. However, after the announcement of UP state election , everything is in dilemma.
Shiksha Mitra are still waiting for the announcement of their increased salary. After the implementation of RTE , passing TET is compulsory for teachers. So how RTE and Shiksha Mitra Scheme would co-relate with each other is also not clear. One thing that now seems to be quite obvious is that TET can be imposed on Shiksha Mitra , besides training. As of now across India , all the teachers are going through it. In Rajasthan, High Court stopped the appointment of teachers in one case and asked them to qualify TET as it said that there cant be two rules for the same job recruitment.

Carbon Tax by EU on Aviation Sector

European Union ( EU) from January,2012 has started Carbon Tax. Now going to London through air would me a bit costlier i.e €6 (Rs.380). EU decision is to levy this tax on aviation sector.

This decision has annoyed all the developing countries specially India and China .For India it will cost $ 1 billion (Rs.4,500 crore) a year and with China and the United State will help Europe make a neat $10billion a year. This would certainly hit the businesses of emerging economies. Both the countries has decided to approach WTO to withdraw this tax.

Aadhar ID / Number Registration - UIDAI

Unique Identification Authority of India , Planning Commission, Government of India has introduced new identification number/ID known as Aadhaar. It is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by UIDAI on behalf of the Government of India. This would be used as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.

Aadhaar Number related important information is given below:

Aadhar Number is free . All the Indian Citizen are asked not to give any fees / money to anyone in the name of form, photocopy, registration , witness service, etc
For Aadhaar Registration there are many Registrar, like State Government , Bank, Post Office, etc. One can approach any of these registrar.
Aadhaar Number is given once in a life, no need to re-register for Aadhaar Number
This number is for everyone . From new born to person from any age group can have Aadhaar number
Visit the registrar with the original identity and residence certificate to get the aadhaar number. However, never submit the original papers.
While creating the Aadhaar Card , clearly express the desire to connect it to bank account, mobile number, etc.
Before taking the Receipt Print, do read the details on the computer screen or ask the operator to read it
Do check the received receipt and if found any error contact the operator within 48 hrs
It takes 90 days to receive the Aadhaar card after registration
If one is not able to register for Aadhaar card at its nearest Registrar , then there is no need to worry. As these centres will again register for Aadhaar card after few span of time.

Reverse Mortgage Loan is facility given to senior citizen by bank by mortgaging their home / flat / land and get loan from National Housing bank.

Anyone who is 60 years old and above can avail this loan. After the death of the person, this amount would be given to the spouse of the person. This person would be the owner of his or her property until he or she is surviving. After death, son or daughter can get back the mortgage property after paying the loan. If the person has not made anyone nominee of the mortgage property ,then bank will acquire the property after the death of the person.

The loan can be taken in installments or can get one time amount. Bank first examine the property and fix the rate and upon that basis it provide the loan. Upto 90% of Mortgage asset value can be given as loan .

Rhodes Scholarship 2012 - Five Indian Students

Rajasthan- 12480 more Seats in Government Colleges

Higher Education Department in Jaipur has increased the college seats in government colleges. The total increased seats are 12480. There was pressure of increasing the seats in the colleges, so keeping the benefit of students, this step was taken by the state government.

Maximum seats has been increased in Arts Stream with 7360 seats, followed by 2880 seats in Commerce and 2240 seats in Science stream. These seats are increased in 56 colleges across Rajasthan.

Greater Noida - 700 Plots

Greater Noida Authority has come up with scheme of 700 plots. After two years Greno will provide residential plots , which includes plots of 120sqm to 200 sqm.

For these plots Sector 10 and Sector 10 A has been selected. GRENO ( Greater Noida) Authority believes that it will collect amount of Rs 200 Crore in the process of Registration for these plots.

LDA – Development and Map Approval Fee increased

The internal and external charges has been increased for the builders who are engaged in Township Development. Now the external development charge is Rs.1110 for per sq meter, instead of Rs.1010. Internal development charge is Rs. 900 per sqm. Earlier the charges were Rs.820. These charges for only those, who are in developing colonies.

Map Approval Fee is now ( Ambar Shulk) Rs. 30 and investigation charges are Rs. 13. Earlier these charges were of Rs.13.75 and Rs. 6.25 respectively. Form charges are now Rs. 80 in the place of Rs. 40. Self accepted form charges are Rs.120. This charge has been doubled from Rs. 60 to Rs. 120.

Housing Schemes for Para Military Force & Indian Army

Home Ministry has decided to build home for Military forces and its department in Greater Noida. Therefore, it had forwarded housing project to Central Government. The project to build 18456 housing unit has been approved in Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee ( PPPAC) of Finance Ministry. The budget of this project is Rs. 3,818 Crore

Para Military Force under Home Ministry is facing housing problem for the CRPF personnel in Delhi, so a decade back it has purchased 100 acre land from Development Authority in Surajpur and Lakhnvali of Greater Noida. These land was allotted to Indian Tibet Border Police and Central Reserve Police Force.Both have established their Battalion there.

There is also proposal of constructing one Referral Super Specialty Hospital of 200 beds. Besides, Home Ministry, Indian Army has also launched many big housing schemes in Greater Noida. Already 3 schemes is completed under which 2500 home has been constructed. One is in the pipeline. Army Welfare Housing Society is constructing about 5000 homes.

Home ministry is has also proposed housing schemes also in following towns – Siligudi( Asam), Kolkata, Agartala, Sri Nagar, Jamshedpur, Gujarat, Shillong, Bhuvneshwar, Shivgangai( Tamil Nadu).

LDA Proposals and Decisions 2011 - Lucknow , UP

Lucknow Development Authority has increased the width of proposed Ring Road from 150 m to 100m. Some other important decisions made by LDA are given below:

In capital, now on agricultural land school, college, university and medical college can be constructed.
Those land, buildings, which are at prime location like near park, corner and road with 18 m width, they will have to pay 20% extra prime location charge. If the building is park facing , then charge would be 5% extra. Land plots or buildings on 18 m road will have to pay 10% extra charge. Allottee of corner plot will have to pay 10% extra. Those who are having benefit of all three benefit, they can pay 20% to that of 25%.
In Charbagh in the place of “Sevayojan Office” proposal has been approved for constructing parking, Hotel, Waiting rooms, Bus / Auto / Taxi stand . The expected expense for this project is Rs.28.58 Crore.
Master plan for newly included 197 villages in LDA is also approved.
The path for 2^nd Railway station from Charbagh to Aanand Nagar is also cleared. The expense of this project is about Rs.252.25 Crore .

Other proposal and decision made by LDA are following:

LDA would develop big park on the land of pond of Ratankhand of Shardanagar. Earlier there was proposal to construct community centre .
Primary Schools can be upgraded to Inter College after fulfilling few conditions and depositing fees.
Width of road between Rai Bareliy and Bijnaur can be decreased as per the choice of Builder. Earlier there was proposal to have width of 250m of ring road.
Garv Buildtech’s OMEX Hightech Township Map has been approved . This is situated on Rai Barely road on 722 acre land
Master Plan 2021 would be developed in 22 zones. Soon the presentation for this plan would come.
New rate and rules has been approved for LDA commercial assets bidding.
Under Town extension part-7 on Kanpur road , affected farmers of Haivatmau maviya, Quila Mohammadinagar, Bhadrukh, Salehnagar, Aurangabad Khalsa, Kasimpur Pakri and Utarthiya would receive Rs. 35 lakh as compensation.
5-Star Hotel would be developed on PPP model on Jiamau land.
LDA would develop bus adda and reasonable hotels on 26662 sqm land on roads of width 76m.
1680 EWS buildings would be demolished on Devpur Para. A committee has been formed for this task.

Femina Miss UP-2011 Vidhi Bhardwaj

Vidhi Bhardwaj is Femina Miss UP-2011 (Uttar Pradesh). This was announced in Pantaloons Femina Miss Uttar Pradesh-2011 competition.

12 contestants were able to qualify for the last round. Out of them, panel of judges selected Vidhi Bhardwaj of Meerut as Femina Miss UP 2011. The first runner up is Prachi Misra of Allahabad and Second runner up is Mansiv of Noida. In the first round, contestants came on the ramp in designer sari of Anju Nair, in which traditional embroidery of Awadh was emphasized. In the second round, they came in Kurta of Indian print with trendy Laggings and in the last round; they walked the ramp in designer gown of Jaya Misra. After these round top five were selected, who later on faced the questions of judges. Based on the performance in this question round, the final selections were made.

The name of 12 participants are - Saumya Kukreti - Noida, Karuna Dogra-Gaziabad, Prachi Misra - Allahabad, Aditi Vas- Meerut, Mansiv Jetli- Noida, Preeti Chauhan - Meerut,Vidhi Bhardwaj - Meerut, Ruchita Rao, Sristi Raj, Sonam Preet, Gunjan - Agra, Sheri Bharti - Dadri

UP Madrasa Teachers - Salary Problem

Uttar Pradesh Government which claims to be the patronage of minorities, has still have long way to go. There are about 14 thousand 28 Madrasa Teachers who have not received their salary from last 18 to 30 months.

These Madrasa Teacher get their salary under the grant given to Modernization of Madrasa. As Central Government has not send the grant, so these teachers have not received their salary. Besides , last time when grant was received by the authorities to distribute salary among teachers of 675 Madrasa, there were complains that staffs of concerned district Minorities Welfare asked 10% of salary as commission. Uttar Pradesh Minorities Welfare Directorate has not taken any significant steps even after so much hullabaloos has been made on this matter.

Madrasa Teachers work on Rs. 6000 /- month under the scheme of modernization of Madrasas. Teacher Association Madaris Arabia in Uttar Pradesh is fighting for these teachers rights.

Panchayat Can Purchase Without TEEN - MNREGA

Panchayat would be having not problem in purchasing anything under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ), after the Government order that they can buy anything upto Rs. 5000 without TEEN number. TEEN Number means Taxpayer Identification Number. TEEN number is given to those shops and commercial institutions, which pay tax. Earlier, Panchayats were allowed to buy anything from such shops only, which are having TEEN number. But now they are free to buy anything till Rs. 5000 from anywhere . This system was in practice to stop misuse of the fund.

However, there were strong demands from various States to give relaxation in this rule. This arrangement will be observed for six-month. If any fault is found then this new arrangement would be revoked . Because some officials are having doubt that this new arrangement can be misused. So order has been directed to State Governments to monitor the activities of Panchyats. The annual budget of MNREGA is about Rs.40,000 Crore and many scams and complains of misusing these funds have been found.

ASHA Workers : Training of 6th & 7th Module

Central Government has decided to give more responsibility to the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers. ASHA workers who look after the health related issues in rural areas will go through training of two new modules. A proposal has been passed under National Rural Health Mission to give 6^th and 7^th level module training to about 9 lakh ASHA workers across country.

Both 6^th and 7^th module training is related from the moment when child is born and afterwards caring. Besides, they are also supposed to reach every house of village and make contraceptives available to check the increasing population.

However, there are other facts that expose the reality of this training proposal. Currently not even half out of 8.49 lakh ASHA workers have received the training of 5^th module. On the other hand Central Government in this adverse state of ASHA training has decided to give responsibility of distributing Contraceptives to control population and Guaranteed Vaccination of new born infants.

Program to recruit ASHA worker to improve the health in rural areas started in 2005. However, still even in 2011 most of the ASHA workers are not having even the basic training. NRHM itself stated in its 2010 report that out of 8.49 lakh ASHA workers only 3.47 lakh workers have received 5^th module training. NRHM is itself very much worried due to the lack of training among ASHA workers

The other major concern is that ASHA workers are already under pressure due to many responsibilities given to them. Some are :

To make available Live saving Vaccination
Other vaccination related to Malaria, Polio , Kalazar diseases
To take the pregnant women to hospital for delivery
They have to also update the villagers about all the new programs of Government

As per the government’s reports some of data related to ASHA workers are amazing and this would compel anyone to ponder upon the whole situation:

All the ASHA workers have gone through the 1^st module training
In Madhya Pradesh only 808 ASHA workers are having 5^th module training
35499 ASHA workers in Rajasthan are having 4^th module training
Among all this hullabaloos of training program , Chhattishgarh is the only state where all 600092 ASHA workers are having training of all modules.

It is really ironical that the government is planning to reward the employees of Indian Railway with bonus amount equivalent to salary of two and half months. There is uniform policy through out the world that bonus is paid by the organizations who are doing well in terms of profit, quality of service etc. but none of the conditions are true for the Railway.
Indian railway has become ground of political game playing and any government doesn't want to loose the vote of more than 16 lakh railway employees and 16 lakh pensioners of the railway. However, the question is why the tax payers money should be used for political games. In last few years Indian Railway has been making continuous losses, thanks to the burden of sixth pay commission which has put burden of 55 thousand crore on the organization. Our railway ministers are always reluctant to increase the fare as they feel it might result in loss of voters. In last five years the income of average Indian families has doubled but the fare of Indian railway has remained stagnant. This strategy of the present government is nothing but political gimmick which might backfire considering the fact that any organization or enterprise which is making operating losses can't survive for long.
It is highly ludicrous that railways are planning to raise funds though a private sector bank (HDFC) to meet the salary, pension and bonuses of their employees and ex employees.
