<description><![CDATA[<b><div class="inlinepanel"> Description</div></b><br> <div>Following the successful Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Mission 4, the HST Control Center and support areas are implementing Automated Operations systems and combining and consolidating operations.  Currently, the FOT provides 24x7 operations support, and as AOD is implemented, that will eventually lead to 8x5 routine operations.  The successful candidate will be expected to work rotating shifts until such time as the HST Project authorizes the elimination of third, and then second, shift.</div><div>andnbsp;</div><div>The primary responsibility of this position will be to support Sensor Analysis and Calibration (SAC), Scientific Instruments Subsystem (SI), Pointing Control Subsystem (PCS), Optical Telescope Assembly (OTA) Subsystem and Safing (SAF) Subsystem.  In addition they will support interfacing with DMS/IandC/EPS/SAC console to coordinate completion of shared daily SAC tasks while training other Flight Controllers for certification, helping to build a new training program, performing User Planning System (UPS) and Space Network Access System (SNAS) testing and transition, and contributing to HST Life Extension Initiative (LEI) work.  As consolidation of console positions progresses, they will be expected to certify on the Data Management Subsystem (DMS), Instrumentation and Controls (IandC), Electrical Power System (EPS), and additional SAC duties.</div><div>andnbsp;</div><div>The Senior Satellite Specialist conducts HST specific real-time flight and ground system operations during operations.  They may develop/modify detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support and analysis in areas such as orbital dynamics, satellite performance analysis, and on-orbit command and control and special operations.  Provide technical coordination and direction for on-orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support.  Provides first-level failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellite to include subsystems and instruments.  Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and improvements.
