Why a new name bitlanders?

In my last article i introduce Film Annex whom i consider a phenomenal social media site that started to pay its members "bitcoin" then after a few weeks the name was changed to BITLANDERS . I was surprised to know , it was early in the morning when i found out because i cannot login on my account using FILM ANNEX . so i asked my self Why a new name bitlanders ?

What comes to my mind ?

Film Annex had been sold out and needs a new name - i tried to search the domain name and owner

The owner had not changed so maybe its really just the named and it probably was not sold out. Since i am an active member for more than a month so i did not see any changes, except that there were questions on my mind that are not answered until now.

It came to mind that probably the reason for the change of name was that " film annex" the former name was probably more related to film industry which was way back started a long time ago. The new name is needed to give it a new image and paying members in "bitcoin" is a new image and a motivation for the company. This is my guess " Why a new name bitlanders?"
It also came to mind was about regulations. There is a pending regulation in New York city where "bitlanders" is having its office. The regulation is about " those who have business about bitcoins, will have to register" so bitlanders is now separated with film annex.

I have posted this article in view that there was no one explaining " why a new name bitlanders". Maybe others wont mind them as long as there's no changes as with film annex. For me any changes, new polices or features are subject to questions, inquiry and need answers just like "why a new name bitlanders"

So the name is not only my concerned here, its also the system within the "bitlanders" its not clear who are the admins, what is the organization structure within the site ( if you have questions whom to approach), the scoring system is not clear ( though i perceived - they cannot quantify it). There are some issues inside that are not addressed. I do believe if you have a public site then its mandatory to hear issues and addressed on it or else there will be a problem.

With the invention of the internet " countries are now more closer". The distance between countries are no longer a problem and relationships of people with different nationalities, cultures and businesses are great, fast and developing. Though there are countries wihich are not in good terms politically and economically but the rest of the world are interconnecting , sharing and having ties.

There are a lot of things happening now all over the world and the popular news are not so good about the spread of new disease, the wars going on on different countries and the unthinkable changes of the climatic and enviromental conditions that makes people fear of what's we are heading to. In spite of these events and catasthrope's life had to continue and governments had the responsibility to take care of the economic and political life of its own countrymen.

Inter- connecting of different countries with different languages to ease communication was not a problem even before because there are courses of different languages in schools of different countries like in my country you can learn, spanish, korean, japanese, english, and other languages. But with the invention of the technology where the relationships of people and transactions of businesses are now transpiring online it is now more faster, feeling closer, intimate and exact. You don't need to go to a certain country to transact your business internet takes care of your business transactions. By a click of finger, if you need a financial translator you can hook for one or a company especially skilled to this kind of craft. The internet had even developed more sophistication like "the app" which makes life more easier.

Online technology even further pushed its high end that even money now or later in the future is now on the web not handy, not a paper, not a check but digital its bitcoin.

In my experience as a blogger and online i know that there are social networking site that pays but i had not been a member. But when i stumble upon "Film Annex" i readily registered and became a member. What attracted me of the site was it is a social media site that pays. Adding to my excitement was that it is paying with "bitcoin". I am an early adopter of bitcoin and it is my point of activity since last year up to this day and maybe until "bitcoin" stays on the mainstream.

Film Annex is a social media not a social networking site though it is almost the same but the difference with Film Annex was that it's more about film making which was really its background. On the early stage of the internet and when email started its a whole lot easier and safer to have communications. But as it get years in using the internet and emails life begins to be uneasy. It had been a long time since i had my last article posted and it really pains me to missed writing about some events which had been emotional and historical about the latest catastrophe that befall to my countrymen in the Philippines. What is the tale or belief behind the Chinese Horoscope

As you know we are discussing about the Year of the Dragon and a TV program of Kris TV got my attention because in one week before the start of the Chinese New Year January 23, 2012 they featured discussions about horoscopes and predictions about the Philippines and on prominent politicians, filipino actors and actresses. They also have famous actors, actressess and fengshui experts as guest in the program to reveal the horoscopes of their guest stars.

From their production a brief and concise description of the history of the 12 animals on the Chinese Zodiac was played. I did not know that story.

Legends and mythology are a big part of Chinese culture, especially in relation to the Chinese Zodiac. The 12 animals that appear on the Chinese Zodiac calendar include a rat, buffalo (ox), tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. It’s an unusual combination of animals for sure, and their appearance on the Chinese Zodiac is the topic of countless legends and is deeply embedded in Chinese mythology.

The most well-known of the Chinese zodiac legends states that Buddha invited the animals to participate in a race. The prize was a coveted position on the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The first 12 animals to cross the river would appear on the Chinese Zodiac calendar in the order in which they completed the race.

The first animal to make it across the finish line according to Chinese Zodiac legends and mythology was the rat. It seems unlikely that such a small animal could win such a strenuous race, especially when one considers all the contenders.

Chinese Zodiac legends and mythology explains that the rat used his brain rather than his brawn. It hitched a ride on what it perceived was the mightiest swimmer. Just before the buffalo reached the shore, the rat jumped off the buffalo’s back and crossed the finish line before the buffalo, putting the rat in first place.

The buffalo came in second and as promised in the legends and mythology, was the second animal listed on the Chinese Zodiac. The tiger, also being strong, came in third, followed by the rabbit that jumped his way across and was helped during the last stretch by the dragon. A snake hid in the hoof of the horse which is how it managed to make it across the river. At the last minute the snake jumped out and scared the horse into seventh place.

The sheep, monkey and rooster helped one another across and earned their spots on the calendar as well. The dog made it too, but decided a bath was more important than the position which is why it came in eleventh. Finally, the pig appeared and is listed last. According to Chinese Zodiac legends and mythology, the pig feasted and rested half-way through the race, but made it across guaranteeing its position.

Regardless of the specific version of Chinese Zodiac history to which you subscribe, the Chinese Zodiac has amazed and entertained people around the world for thousands of years.

The Chinese New Year's Day is January 23, 2012. The Chinese New Year's Days are also called the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival lasts 10 days, the Dragon Year lasts one lunar year (12 months) --until Feb. 9, 2013.

The Dragon personality The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast - the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. What tricks did Marquez have on Pacman?

The fight of Pacman vs Marquez became a controversial one when Pacman's supporters where not satisfied with the kind of fight he had performed with Marquez. And from Marquez camp they believe there warrior was the one who won.

Though for the filipinos whether Pacman win or lose he still is the great fighter and Champion. Not this fight alone with Marquez can ever loose the faith of the Filipinos and to the world. Pacman is a pound for pound champion and an eight division champion. We should accept that decision had been made and the judges are knowledgeable with their votes and decisions.

From Pacman's interview he accepts that Marquez is really a tough fighter. He really was because the episodes of their fight won't reached this "Third One". And from the people of both camps they want to see who really would be down on the canvass just to say that "One is the Greatest"

I had been following the news on Pacmans preparation from the Philippines and the US. Pacman had really had a tough preparation for this fight because he knows Marquez is not that easy to be beaten. Pacman's preparation was all that physical and no tricks.

On the other hand news about Marquez preparation was not much seen on TV and newspapers. What i heard about Marquez was his drinking of his urine, Is this the trick? So its quite obvious that maybe there was something that Marquez was preparing for the fight not only the urine.

Obviously from the pictures you can see that Marquez trick was to step on the foot of Pacman, so as Paacman would be off balance. This might be the reason why the fight tricks of Pacman did not materialize. I just dont know why the judges or referee had not seen this "Foot Stopper Trick".

What had Marquez had to say on this, thanks for people's keen observers and a watchful eyes on the fight. At first i would really believe that Pacman had the hard time fighting Marquez but i was wondering why? what happened. And probably this is one of the great reason? though this was not mentioned by Pacman after the fight. You be the judge, i am not a boxer but seeing this images, i would see that Marquez deserves to be a loser and a un fair fighter. Pacman should have another fight with this guy. ..LOSER ,,MARQUEZ

Cell phone use source of disease

One item on the news on The Filipino Channel catches my attention. Its about cellphone use as one source of disease. The news was about the study conducted in United Kingdom that e-coli bacteria had been found on cellphones. So it is not only in the Philippines but, also in any country. Watch this video;

So what is e-coli? It is a bacteria from human waste. It is a deadly bacteria than can cause anybody to be sick. It is being transferred from one person to another through the cellphone. So if you have not wash your hands thoroughly you can be contaminated with e-coli bacteria which can be a cause for you to be sick. You might hold your face, your cellphones or other cell, computers or anything. The sypmptoms of the disease are severe abdominal cramps, fever and vomiting, bloody diarrhea and nausea.

The basic, safest and the best thing to do is wash your hands very well with soap and water. There is also a right way of washing the hands. It is not safe that you wet your hands with water and soap, Filipinos should do this religiously because we have the habit of not using paper whenever we defecate. Besides washing the hands with soap and water dry the hands with hand dryers. In public, commercial or business buildings there are special air hand dyers or restroom hand dryers. I am sure with the heat coming from this drier the bacteria will surely die and prevent you and anybody from the contamination of e-coli.

Thanksgiving Day from a flip

Yes its Thanksgiving Day here in Canada, a national holiday that falls on the second Monday of October. It's a day from what history is saying a day to give thanks for good harvest for the farmers and other fortunes for the past year.

I am a flip (filipino) and since its holiday I just have to follow a good day. But thinking me as a flip, I cannot let go in my mind the sufferings the people in the Philippines are in right now. Whenever I watch the ABS-CBN radyo patrol there are always that bad or good news. But it is always striking on our hearts and emotions news of accidents, crimes, disasters specially with the latest floods brought about by Typhoons Pedring and Queil. It's emotionally hurting to see people from northern and central luzon walks and swims on the roads from knee deep to above head floods. It's apathetic to see people, children, sick, crippled and old ones being transported from their houses to evacuation areas.

People in evacuation areas chilling, hungry and sick not even a crowd control system can discipline the surge of affected Filipinos. And the those managing the evacuation centers had not learned to use stanchions or velvet rope to put order in their rationing system. They should have provided barricades to separate the different families to put system of checking and temporary lodgings. Though as a whole the government system is always unprepared and unskilled for this kind of disasters. All we can say Thanks to God, there were still many people safe though there 200 dead and billions of pesos worth of crops and properties were devastated.

After almost two weeks the typhoons had gone, the floods set in and now its going back to, but not in all the places. There are still areas flooded. Nevertheless it's still a Thanksgiving Day people are going back to their homes and will be moving on to their normal life.

Life is a Gamble

Gambling is the primary source of living of my father when he was still alive. He was able to make a living with her craft. He was able to provide for the family and made all of us his seven children finished schooling up to college. But in real life never he taught us how to gamble.

But when your thinking how he was able to make the family economy secure with just gambling alone, it's amazing. He is very good in his own trade. I was wondering if he had taught us about his secrets there's probably a good chance I will not have problems with money.

When you want to gamble here in Canada you have to go to Casino. This is always one of the favorite places that everybody visits be it for fun and trying your luck. This is where I always remember my father. I am also trying my luck on online casino, you never know I might hit a jackpot. But I only play slot machines on real casino and online casino's.

I always had this thought in mind that "life is a gamble" then why not try gambling its part of our life.

Identity information is what thieves online are after. If they have your personal information, then they may be successful in theft and fraud online. I continue to see this online, especially in my own emails. If you are receiving emails asking for your personal information, that seems to not be coming from a true source, then these thieves are trying to get your information.

Crocodile in the Philippines

The captured biggest crocodile in the Philippines is now recognized worldwide unless there is a new one which would be more bigger than this. The crocodile is 21 feet in length and weight a more than a ton. The government of Agusan in the southern Philippines hunted the crocodile because it causes fears in the community , one girl and a farmer was also killed, they suspect that this "croc" was the culprit. One hunter was also killed in the process of hunting the animal, he was "Lolong" , and now the crocodile was proclaimed to be name of the Crocodile and the town of Bunawan is now proclaimed and be developed into a "tourist" spot" .

Talking about Crocodiles in the Philippines , there are really a lot of "Crocodiles" in tagalog word "Buwaya". In colloquial terms these also means "Crocs' or more of "Crooks" in government . This also means that the "Crocs" in government are those people in government who are taking there position to make selfish robbery of the people's tax money for their ends. At this period of Pinoys governance the biggest "Crocs" now is being investigated and formal charges will be filed. These "crocs" or "crooks' is not easily captured unlike "lolong" , these people are powerful and wealthy but now they are now on there downside getting sick and maybe later on they could be put in jail.

Newly constructed residential houses Canada

My sister had bought a house for almost a year now in Brampton. Ontario , Canada. Actually its a brand new house newly built. Majority of the houses in the place are new , others still on the process of construction but the roads are all passable. All of the newly built houses if you examined had no addresses.

So i ask my sister why until now for almost a year since they occupy the place there are no addresses. She told me they have a number for their house but they had no time to look for finding a right kind of plates or plaques for her house. So i told her that i could look for it and find a right plaques for her and she agreed.

I personally believe in natural remedies which ensure the health of our body.

The life and our body that had live for so long had been accustomed to ready made or processed foods that were not beneficial to our system. Jobs Hard to Find

When i came here in Canada in 2005 i was inspired to work and had been very active and focused on my job as a caregiver. I love the work of caring for the children and adult. The job is really not that hard, its just like your home taking care of your children but the difference is working and then being paid.

After my contract in three years , i decided to change my job and try to find one being a caregiver or just any job. It took me almost a month to find a job and all i could be accomodated was doing manual job. Its really that hard to find other jobs except for my background as a caregiver.

But my doing manual jobs had forced my body to be more weaker and also because of my age, i am already 60. I was influenced by my friend to work with Canada Post , i believe i can do that job like a postman. But surfing the site and looking for possible position , there was none available at the moment and i was surprised that Canada Post is already selling playstation 3. and other stuff on their websites. Its not only for personal used but as well as for business.

But clicking on the careers button , i found out the letter carrier position where i could apply but reading all the requirements there were items that i think i would not be accepted like driver experience for 3 years, experienced with the public and some other items.

I was back to where i have to started to look again for what is available that is best fitted for my qualification. The present financial crisis is really being felt even in Canada.

Philippines beset with denque problem

Its very alarming that a lot of children are being hosptalized now this rainy season because of denque problem. To date there are 6000 cases of denque in the whole Philippines and majority of these are in Metro Manila. Manila is the capital city and a lot of cases came from Quezon City a part of Metro Manila.

Every rainy season this denque problems arise and had not been eradicated. And compounding to this problem poor children of depressed families are the common prey to this menace. They dont have money to pay for their hospitalization . And they are now resorting to paying the hospital with a promissory note and any valuable belongings they could provide with the government institutions. Families cannot afford to go the private hospitals . Its a good thing that a new ruling from the Secretary of Health had been disseminated not to accept this valuables from sicked families.

Eradicating the denque before it becomes an epidemic should be done before the onset of rainy season. In my experience as a barangay chairman , i see to it that the community should be clean not only before the rainy season but everyday. And the goverment cannot do this alone , the residents in a community should join forces to fight this denque and maintain the cleanliness within their own homes.

Corruption cases of the former govt discovered

The first year of President Noynoy Aquino is showing the primary program being implemented , that is getting rid of corruption in government. The present administration believes that with this programs , those who corrupted will be punished and the corrupt money should be returned to the government.

This primary program was strategic in the sense that doing this thrust ranks the administration with good credit ratings from other countries especially US and loan agencies . I also presume that a lot of people want to know the real truth about the many cases of corruption and anomalies during the former administration of President Gloria Arroyo. The people of the Philippines have been denied of the truth .

These are the cases being investigated by the senate in aid of legislation ;

1. Fertilizer fund scam – fertilizer fund that was not given to the farmers but diverted into election fund

2. AFP corruption cases ; a certain Colonel Rabusa a whistle blower who implicated generals who had
benefited from some funds of the military

3. PCSO misused of Funds - issue about bishops of Catholic Bishop of the Philippines given luxury cars . issues on inteligence fund, issues of funds used for election purposes and others

New development is surfacing now , that are leading to most famous corrupt and fake President Gloria Arroyo. Governor Zaldy Ampatuan who was charged with multiple murder in Mindanao is now shouting out Gloria Arroyo as the mastermind in the fake election result favoring camps of President Arroyo . A comelec official Beedol now surfacing and implicating President Gloria Arroyo in the manipulation of the election in 2004 and 2007.

With these scenarios , it is just befitting to know the real truth and punished who were involved in corruption and looting of the governments money. This is the first time in the history if this succeeds that top government officials willl be punished for corruption. But on the other hand , there are other issues of poverty, rising prices and employment that has to be given solution by the present administration. And these also cannot wait..

Pinoy’s first year as President

President Noynoy Aquino had finished his first year in office and the filipino people will assess what he had done for the country. My opinion is coming only from a distant place, based on the news and solicited from friends and relatives.

Before the presidential election i organize a group “bloggers unite”and the primary aim was to mobilize all bloggers and filipinos both abroad and in the country to see to it that there would be election , not supporting any candidate . It was only for the purpose that election must be held to change President Arroyo who on those times were rumored to make the election a failure. I was able to mobilize almost 50 members and the objective was reached.

Luckily the people choose President Noynoy who was favored and elected because of the people’s anger for Arroyo and the people’s sentiment from the death of her mother former President Cory Aquino. If you analyzed what i said it is a vote of sentiment, not a choice for any requirement of what a president should be given the countrys poor economy and corrupt administration. There was no plans for Noynoy to run as president , it was his running mate Sen. Mar Roxas .

So he won and the first year had passed. The theme of his campaign was focused more on “Getting rid of corruption”. It is “Kung walang korup, walang mahirap” The tone sounds if you dont have corrupt officials in government then there will be progress or there will be no more poor people. He is also saying that his government would take the right path “ matuwid na daan”, but taking the right path is still vaque and had to be seen on what he had done in “taking the right path.

Since the main focus of his program is “getting rid of corruption” i would just give some focus on this and say that he is heading towards that direction. These are some of what i know that he had accomplished;

1. There were a lot of income tax deliquents who were charged including big time politicians like Cong. Mike Arroyo. The the military comptroller Carlos Garcia’s will now be tried again for plunder.

2. Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez was forced to resign, she is being accused of delaying many corrupt cases of government officials related to the former president.

3. There were also two gentlemen from the Ombudsman who were dismissed because of charge of neglect of duty in sitting down the case of hostage man Rolando Mendoza.

There are many cases of government officials that Pinoy will go after but these will still have to be tried and justice system in the Philippines takes a long time. But he had started with big time government officials and probably the former President will be tried.

In my own point of view “getting rid of corrupt officials in government” is one good step but i am hoping this will give lessons to others in government not to corrupt . My doubt is that the system of corruption in the Philippines is already “part of a rotten system” and its historical since the time of Spaniards. With the present infrastructure of government , there is corruption from the lower level of barangay to the highest. The path that Pres. Noynoy will be treading with only be a symbol and the substance will still had to be seen in the long run , six years of his term i would say would not be enough to change corruption in government.

It will be a historical struggle to rid the government of corruption. This had always been the campaign slogan of any politician. I wish there would be “significant changes” with the Presidents program. Because if nobody will be penalize for corruption then also the poor will remain poor, which just makes the slogan “walang korap, walang mahirap’ useless.
