Before any Soros typing monkeys or FBI interns trawling through the blogosphere think this is some MAGA INCITEMENT OF VIOLENCE!!!, trust me it is not. However, I do pay attention to various data points, and what I see coming together is disturbing at best. New York Rep Dan Goldman offered this bit of effluent last week (emphasis mine):

Trump knows his campaign can’t win New York. But he also knows that the path to the House majority runs straight through New York.

Why does he care? Because he wants Mike Johnson – the architect of the 2020 effort to overturn the election – to be Speaker of the House on January 6, 2025 in order to execute a coup when he loses.

We cannot let that happen.

Combine that with Rep. Jamie Raskin saying the quiet part out loud in that when Trump wins the Dems will just stretch the law to disqualify him from taking office.

Then there was A Disturbing Number of Democrats Think America Would Be Better Off If Trump Were Assassinated. As PJM’s Matt Margolis writes (again, emphasis mine):

According to a new survey that RMG Research conducted for the Napolitan News Service, a staggering 17% of voters believe that America would be better off if last week’s assassination attempt on Trump had succeeded. This includes an alarming 28% of Democrats, with another 24% unsure whether America might be better off if Trump were dead.

Only 48% of Democrats could definitively say that the country would not be better off if Trump had been killed.

Let that sink in. Using my brilliant mathematical brain, I was able to deduce that 28% + 24% = 52%. There is no subtle way to say this – half of all Democrats are clinically insane. If you seriously believe that assassinating a presidential candidate is definitely/might be better for the country you are a couple of cans short of a six pack. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that these 52% are heavily represented in the media and Democrat politicians.

The final piece for today is a story that got surprisingly little coverage when it came down last week – Police Towers and Brick Pallets in Springfield, Ohio. The half minute video isn’t verified, but a local resident noticed that ahead of this Saturday’s “P****d Off Americans March” there suddenly appeared a small tower and a few pallets of bricks. It’s looking like if The Radical Left can’t get another Charlottesville Big Lie ( A lie so egregious that even the Leftists at Snopes finally debunked it)  to happen they’ll just have to stage it. Hopefully I’m wrong about this. Hopefully I’m wrong about all of this. For everyone’s sake.

“I wanted to do the work that was about protecting the most vulnerable among us”

Those are the words spoken by Kamala Harris on September 20, 2024 at a campaign event in Atlanta. It was, as you probably guessed, primarily about abortion.

And we know, in America, freedom is not to be given.  It is not to be bestowed.  It is ours by right. It is ours by right, and that includes the fundamental freedom of a woman to be able to make decisions about her own body and not have her government telling her what to do. Yes, we must trust women.

Then, of course, she went on to blame Trump. She brought up an allegedly “preventable” death of a woman. It’s complicated, but Harris omitted a lot of facts and the fact is that her death, while tragic, was not directly related to the abortion ban in Georgia. I might tackle this separately.

As for facts, let’s look at some. Harris is all for abortion. Does she have any limits? No one knows.

When “Face the Nation” moderator Margaret Brennan asked Harris what week of pregnancy abortion access should be cut off, the vice president repeatedly said “the protections of Roe v. Wade” need to be put back in place, but did not directly answer the question.

About the claim that there are late term abortions, Brennan came to Harris’s aid:

“It wasn’t crafted into law. And that’s why I’m asking you for the specifics there — because Republicans say the lack of a precise date in cutting it off — you know this — they say that allows Democrats to perform abortions up until birth,” Brennan said, noting that the claim is not statistically accurate. In 2020, less than 1% of abortions were performed after 21 weeks and a majority were performed before 13 weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And Kamala?

Harris called the claim “ridiculous” and a “mischaracterization of the point,” but declined to be more specific.

She dodged the questions as adroitly as she dodges interviews.

I asked Grok about this and this was the answer:

Based on Kamala Harris’s public statements and actions, particularly through her X posts and the Biden-Harris administration’s policy stances up to September 2024, there is no indication that Kamala Harris supports any restrictions on abortion.

Then she said that, with some coaching by Priests, Rabbis, Imams and Pastors, women could freely have all the abortions they want.

And let us agree, and I know we do: One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree the government should not be telling her what to do.  If she chooses — if she chooses, she will talk with her pastor, her priest, her rabbi, her imam.  But it should not be the government or Donald Trump telling her what to do with her body.

That, of course, presumes there’s only one body to consider. Even Roe had limits:

The Court divided the pregnancy period into three trimesters. During the first trimester, the decision to terminate the pregnancy was solely at the discretion of the woman. After the first trimester, the state could “regulate procedure.” During the second trimester, the state could regulate (but not outlaw) abortions in the interests of the mother’s health. After the second trimester, the fetus became viable, and the state could regulate or outlaw abortions in the interest of the potential life except when necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.

All of this leads to one question- who is most vulnerable among us? That would be a good question to ask Harris.

Oh wait, she doesn’t take questions.

The answer is the most vulnerable among us are the unborn – the ones Harris and her democrat party are so determined to kill.

And there is another group who are among the most vulnerable. You might recognize their names:

• Mollie Tibbetts
• Jocelyn Nungaray
• Maria Gonzalez
• Sarah Root
• Lizbeth Medina
• Kayla Hamilton
• Rachel Morin

They were all young women murdered by Harris’s beloved illegal aliens.  They get no mention in her campaign, as though they never existed. Someone should ask Harris why young women should continue to be made vulnerable to this kind of tragedy.

Oh wait, she doesn’t take questions.

democrats usually respond to this by spouting out something about the rates of homicide, rape and murder in order to distract you from the fact that without the Harris illegal alien invasion these young women would still be alive. Harris is offering up young women to illegal alien predators. When do their deaths matter? How many do we have to absorb? Are the deaths of these young women acceptable collateral damage?

And chew on this:

More than 150 Democrats voted against Republican Representative Nancy Mace‘s bill that would ensure undocumented immigrants convicted of sex offenses are deported or deemed inadmissible to the country.

Kamala Harris does not care about the most vulnerable. She cares about an issue that benefits her and is exploiting it. She steadfastly refuses to do live interviews and press conferences in which she’d have to defend these positions as well as explain her amazing epiphany reversals.

She is not a serious candidate. Her proclamation above is hollow and without merit.

The more Kamala Harris speaks, the more she reminds me of Chauncey Gardiner, the lead character in the movie “Being There.”

This is one summary of “Being There”

After the death of his employer forces him out of the only home he’s ever known, a simpleminded, sheltered gardener becomes an unlikely trusted advisor to a powerful tycoon and an insider in Washington politics.

Harris, like Gardiner, rose to where she is largely by an odd set of circumstances. Harris and Gardiner are equally quotable.

Here are a few quotes to for you to think about:

• “In the garden, growth has its seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.”
• “You know, every election cycle we talk about this is the most election of our lifetime.”
• “As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden.”

• “What can be, unburdened by what has been”

• “This is just like television, only you can see much further.”
• “Bob and Doug returned to the Kennedy Space Center. They suited up. They waved to their families, and they rode an elevator up nearly 20 stories. They strapped into their seats and waited as the tanks beneath filled with tens of thousands of gallons of fuel. And then they launched. Yeah, they did,”
• ‘It’s time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day’
• “Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country.”

Some of those quotes are from the movie “Being There” with Peter Sellers portraying Chauncey Gardiner. You have to admit that they all sound like they could have been uttered by Kamala Harris, as vacuous as she is. And yet in some ways, she also seems like a real-life Frank Underwood.

Underwood has come into office without a single vote cast for him, he’s tarnished by political scandal from the previous administration and he has a whole host of worries at his feet, Willimon says.

But Frank Underwood was smart.  He could speak without sounding like an airhead. Harris, as did Frank Underwood, finds herself at the political pinnacle without a real vote. She was nominated to the position of VP but escaped any primary efforts once Joe Biden was deposed. It was the primary ritual that saw Harris’s early elimination as a candidate as even the American left recognized her substitution of dilettantism for intellect.

She continues to dodge the press as thinking is her greatest weakness. That vacuousness was on full display when Harris sat down with Oprah for another hard-hitting interview.

“What is on your heart” asked Oprah.  That really drills down to why Harris should be elected President. But there was this simply outstanding stream of consciousness.

THIS is why Harris is being sequestered from the press. This is why she is not allowed near a live microphone unless it’s a rally and there’s a teleprompter.

When asked by Jake Tapper about the lack of interviews Kamala Senior Adviser and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said this:

Then Bret Stephens tried asking Stephanie Ruhle of MSNBC why Harris doesn’t do interviews. Via Eric Abbenante:

Stephanie Ruhle: “If you don’t like her answer, are you going to vote for Trump? Kamala Harris is not running for perfect, she is running against Trump. We have two choices. There are some things that you might not know her answer too. In 2024, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is, and the kind of threat he is to democracy.”

Bret Stephens: “The problem that a lot of people have with Kamala is that we don’t know her answer to anything.” Ruhle: “But you know his answer to everything.”

Stephens: “People also are expected to have some idea of what the program that you’re supposed to vote for. I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for her to sit down for a real interview.”

Ruhle: “When you move to Nirvana, I’ll be your next door neighbor. We don’t live there.”

Stephanie Ruhle thinks it’s ‘utopian’ to demand Kamala Harris go through the process that every other candidate for president has gone through, a public vetting process.

I will keep saying this- Kamal Harris is an airhead. She fares poorly when all conditions are not tightly controlled in her favor. She would be completely hopeless facing off with Putin, Xi, or Iran and all three have endorsed her for a reason.  Joy is great but it solves nothing of the world’s problem. Events like an Oprah’s could not have been made any more tailor-made for Harris than it was, and she can’t even handle them without her trademark vapid pomposity. And that audience was clapping like trained seals once the word salad was served.

It’s a bit distressing seeing women so enthralled by driveling, meaningless logorrhea uttered by the 2024 version of Chauncey Gardiner. Harris is a perfect fit for The View.

There are ample reasons not to vote for Kamala Harris. I thought it would be fun to at first present a collection of quotes from people who would know.

1. “Lives have been a little bit difficult. Rent’s too high. They don’t have 20% for a downpayment on a home.”
2. “The American Dream is elusive — it’s just actually not attainable!”
3. “America, you don’t have to live like this anymore.”
4. “I grew up understanding the children of the community are the children of the community.”
5. “I am feeling very good about Pennsylvania because there are a lot of people in Pennsylvania who deserve to be seen and heard.”

I cannot argue with any of them. The authors? At the end.

She has had two sit-down interviews in as friendly environments as you could pray for. The first one went like this:

“When we talk about bringing down prices and making life more affordable for people, what are one or two specific things you have in mind for that?” Taff asked.

Harris replied, stating, “Well, I’ll start with this. I grew up a middle-class kid. My mother raised my sister and me. She worked very hard. She was able to finally save up enough money to buy our first house when I was a teenager.”

The Democratic candidate continued: “I grew up in a community of hard-working people, you know, construction workers and nurses and teachers. And I try to explain to some people who may not have had the same experience. You know, a lot of people will relate to this.”

The second one was with three journalists from the National Association of Black Journalists

Kamala gets asked what her plans are for the economy.

“I grew up a middle class kid.”

How did the interviewers react? They said she didn’t answer.

Co-host Deepa Fernandes asked, “You had asked Harris about whether some…sort of federal response could help the Springfield, Ohio community heal. What struck you about her response?”

Daniels answered, “That she didn’t answer. I think that was probably the thing that struck me the most. Because I was trying to get at, there is an underlying concern that people who live in Springfield have that has nothing to do with race, right? There are questions about the lack of resources that were available before any new people came in — Haitian immigrants came in. And they were having the same things after, right? There are long lines at hospitals and issues at schools because of a lack of translation services, for one. So, I was trying to see if she believed that the federal government had a role in it. And, instead, she took the opportunity to talk about the racist conspiracy theories that have been spread by both former President Donald Trump and his running mate.”

There is, however, one quote from the debate that stands out like a fish riding a bicycle. It’s this one:

“There is not one member of the military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world for the first time this century.”

The conversation between Martha Raddatz of ABC and Gov Maureen Healey of Massachusetts gets to the heart of the dilemma:

When directly asked by Raddatz why Harris would make the claim, Healey deflected, instead comparing Harris’ character to Trump’s.

“I think what’s important here, Martha, is that Kamala Harris in contrast to Donald Trump demonstrated herself to be commander-in-chief. We are in a world where there are all sorts of conflicts and it’s all the more reason we need somebody who’s serious and who supports the military,” said Healey, who endorsed Harris the day after Biden dropped out of the race.

Raddatz doubled-down on her question.

“You say she demonstrated her ability to be commander-in-chief, but did she not know about these people in Syria and Iraq? Why would she say that?” Raddatz asked.

And there it is. This is IMO the single most important event of this Presidential campaign. The question is – was she intentionally bulsh*tting America or is she as stupid and ignorant as many of us think she is? The first possibility implies she doesn’t give a damn about US troops in danger. The second one is more likely – she’s a complete airhead, incapable of independent thought. She just doesn’t understand the world at all.

Being an airhead is preferable to being a callous liar. One is excusable, one is not. Either one should be disqualifying.

This is the reason Harris’s handlers keep her away from live interviews.

Axios:

The Harris-Walz ticket is on pace to do fewer interviews and press conferences than any major party’s presidential pairing in modern U.S. history.

Why it matters: Vice President Harris‘ team is betting she and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, can avoid many tough interviews and still win as they run down the clock to Election Day.

• That strategy comes even as many voters say they want to learn more about Harris — and as her campaign has said she’s changed many of her past liberal positions to more centrist policies.

• The previously press-friendly Walz has joined Harris in largely dodging the media while campaigning before friendly, enthusiastic crowds.

We cannot and must not have an airhead as President. This isn’t the prom. It’s not the most popular kid on school contest. It’s the damn Presidency. Harris has no gravitas and no brain. It’s no wonder she’s been endorsed by Putin, Xi, Iran and Dick Cheney. Biden hid from the press and look what he’s done to the country as a consequence. It must not happen again.

She is incapable of being President.

It is time to turn the page on this nonsense. She does have a record and it’s a record of failure- broadband internet, electric school buses, space czar and the border. All failures.

Harris would like nothing more than to treat America with one of these:

An alleged affidavit suggesting that there was collusion between the Harris campaign and ABC News prior to the debate was met with skepticism, ridicule and scorn.

And no shortage of intrigue.

For Trump supporters it’s cheese on a possible mousetrap. We’d love to believe it’s true but some of us are hesitant to embrace it too deeply as there is yet provenance to be establish. But things are getting really interesting now.

As I have written, I absolutely believe the debate was rigged so I want to believe what you’re going to read.

But he was right- as of then ABC had denied nothing.

And he took more crap for it.

But let’s review for a second before moving on to the rest. ABC did design the debate to embarrass Trump. ABC made a smaller podium for Harris so she would not look so diminutive. ABC did not really fact check Harris or do any serious follow-up. They didn’t ask her about her support for the MN fund which released rapists and murderers.

ABC did finally issue a statement

“ABC News followed the debate that both campaigns agreed on and which clearly state: No topics or questions will be shared in advance with campaigns or candidates.”

Yesterday, ABC made a statement regarding the whistleblower affidavit. The only thing ABC said was that they did not give the questions or the topics to the Harris campaign. Well, nobody accused ABC of doing that. ABC has been accused of the following:

1.) Giving the Harris campaign sample questions, similar to the actual questions that would be used for the debate.

2.) Agreeing to give Harris a smaller podium and other arrangements to minimize the size differential between Harris and Trump.

3.) Fact Checking would be done for Donald Trump and NOT Kamala Harris

4.) Harris campaign gave questions to ABC that were not to be included in the debate. Including questions regarding her time as DA in SF and her time as California Attorney General.

Out of all these accusations, the fact checking of Trump has been admitted to. The podium and split screen appearance to keep the height differential have already been proven, ABC did NOT deny communications with the Harris campaign without the Trump campaign being present and they will never deny that because they cannot. According to the whistleblower, ABC executives made numerous phone calls with the Harris campaign without including the Trump campaign on the call. Everything the whistleblower has submitted has been proven except for sample questions. There will be another tweet later today announcing action to be taken against ABC and the affiliates of ABC.

He followed that with this

I do not know whether this is all real, but a lot of the pieces fit the puzzle. He posted these accusations a week before the debate, and it pretty much went down as he predicted. It would not surprise me one bit to learn the assertions are all valid. if so, this would be a bombshell. For now, it remains unexploded ordnance.

America’s Founding Fathers were nothing short of extraordinary.  Never before had a group of men come together to do things that would so change the arc of human history.  To a man, it’s likely that they agreed with Sir Isaac Newton’s adage from 1676:  “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” This particularly applies to the two men most responsible for the nation’s founding documents, Thomas Jefferson & James Madison.

Jefferson, whose extensive library was the basis upon which the Library of Congress is built, was extraordinarily well read.  From Plato and Plutarch to Chaucer and Shakespeare to Blackstone and Burke, he was a voracious reader. Perhaps none more so than the giant of the Enlightenment, John Locke. In addition to the intellectual arsenal, all of this gave him, there were specific documents he drew upon in writing the Declaration of Independence.  Among these were his draft of the Constitution of Virginia, George Mason’s Virginia Declaration of Rights as well as the English Bill of Rights and its antecedent, the Magna Carta.

Madison shared Jefferson’s familiarity with Montesquieu, Locke, Blackstone and crafted the Constitution with many of the same sources in mind. Given the different functions of the documents, Madison focused the Constitution on the fundamental nature of man and the need to constrain men’s most based instincts. In contrast, Jefferson’s Declaration was focused on the passions that impel men to act.

The nation they bequeathed to us is of course, imperfect, but it is extraordinary nonetheless.  Based on these documents and the 2000 years of Western civilization that preceded them, it has evolved with principles that have been, in aggregate, the most providential in all in human history. Fundamental elements such as freedom of speech, press, religion, the right to a fair trial and to be free from government molestation in your home created an almost crystal clear limitation on the powers of government and the tyrannical nature of men. At the same time, outside of the explicitly government sphere you have things like private property, Capitalism, and the Judeo-Christian tradition that reinforced the framework of the nation.

As everyone knows, America had extraordinary challenges from the beginning, starting with her Original Sin. But throughout she has had at her disposal in the form of the Constitution the tools to evolve and overcome her imperfections and advance.

The culture Americans have today, or at least did until recently, focused on things like community, church, freedom of speech, limited government, private property, merit & individual achievement.

All of that took generations to build.  It took patriots standing on the shoulders of giants to build… And the result has been nothing short of spectacular.  For most of the last century, the United States has been the most powerful nation in the world from both a military and economic perspective, and perhaps most of all, from an opportunity perspective.  From universities to Silicon Valley to Wall Street to Main Street, America has led the world in scientific advances, economic advances, and, again, opportunity.  This is nowhere more clear in the fact that of the 954 Nobel Prizes awarded since its inception in 1900, over 404 of them (42%) are Americans, and of those 404, approximately 35% are immigrants.  And it’s not just intellectuals. There’s athletics. Of the 21,000 Olympic medals awarded since the revival of the Games in 1896, Americans have won over 3,000 or 15%. In this year’s games, approximately 10% of the American team was made up of immigrants or children of immigrants. And money. Of the world’s 2,781 billionaires in 2024, 29% of them, or 813 are Americans. Of those 813, approximately 11% are immigrants.

All of this suggests that immigrants are good for America.  That’s true.  But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a problem.  We do. Because culture matters…

Unfortunately what we have seen over the last 30 years has been a flood of illegal immigrants from nations with no concept of the basics of American culture. The breakdown of the countries of origin tells the tale. The top ten nations from which illegals hail are as follows:  Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Columbia, Ecuador & El Salvador. Together they make up 80% of the illegals crossing our border. Those nations have no sustained history of free speech, limited government, private property, free elections, or Capitalism. Contrast that with the previous waves of migration (1840-1889 & 1890-1911) when 89% of immigrants came from fellow European nations with overlapping western values.

It is simply not sustainable for a nation to import tens of millions of people from nations with cultures that are anathema to its own. Indeed of the top ten most dangerous cities in the world, eight are in the countries listed above. The basic elements of Western culture, of American culture, are not found in DNA, they are found in communities, in the shared history of the citizens, and the laws of the nation. Large numbers of immigrants from nations with different mores can be destabilizing. From crime to the hundreds of billions of dollars necessary to support illegals to the strains on services such as education and healthcare to the dollars sent back home, illegals harm America.  Just this past week we’ve seen reports of Venezuelan gangs taking over  neighborhoods in Colorado and unleashing chaos in Dallas while 75% of arrests in midtown Manhattan are illegals.

The only solution is deportation. By the millions. It will be ugly, it will be difficult, it will take courage in the face of withering media assaults and Democrat lamentations, but it is necessary.  If we do not build a wall and send the illegals home, it will be seen as an open invitation to the entire world to cross our border… and as Roy Beck explains with gumballs, that’s not sustainable.

Culture matters. The reality is, not all cultures are equal. If they were there wouldn’t be millions of people seeking to cross our borders. Western civilization in general and American culture in particular has taken centuries to develop, and a quick look around the world will demonstrate that cultures and civilizations that maintain themselves for centuries are few and far in between.

If Americans don’t recognize that what we have is a gift and is something to be valued and protected, our shining city on a hill will soon devolve into a morass of chaos, violence, scarcity, and tyranny where much of the rest of the world resides. If we want to show compassion to those longing for what Americans have, the solution is not to open our borders and let them in, but rather seek to export the basic elements of freedom which are at the foundation of our success. There’s an adage of much disputed origin that perfectly articulates the idea:  Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime. Our goal should not be to suckle the millions of illegals who swarm our borders and overwhelm our cities, but rather we should be to export the fundamental tenets of freedom and prosperity to the billions around the world so they can build their own shining cities on their own hills…
