Calling All Adventure Ladies!

We are very excited to share the upcoming Adventure Goddesses Kiteboarding and Yurts Weekend Getaway being held at Flora Bora. The weekends are Feb 8-10 and March 8-10. The fun begins on the Friday night with appetizers and drinks along with an introduction to kiteboarding. The lessons start Saturday morning and run all day , with festivities wrapping up Sunday around noon.

Come and join us on beautiful Emma Lake, as we catch some wind with your fellow Adventure Goddesses!

Wedding in the Woods

Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting the Mark and Kristina’s wedding, such a great couple to work with.

The wedding was beautiful; from the weather, to the decor , to the amazing menu. Lux Events did super job of balancing the forest rustic with elegant decor, their planning went off with out a hitch.

Once again Chef Jenni pulled off an amazing meal “The Locally Sourced Forest Feast”, it was unbelievable as always!

Wild Blueberry Hand Pies with Seabuckthorn Caramel,Haskap and Bakeapple Sorbet…I seriously wanted to lick the plate however my small amount of etiquette did prevail.

Hello friends, today I am sharing with you Christopher Lake’s very own, the deliriously delicious Yellow Fender Coffee House and Eatery!

This wonderful bistro is a little gem and if you are coming to this neck of the woods, I highly recommend you stop here for some tasty nourishment.

It is owned and operated by a mother Connie Freedy, who is also a Red Seal chef, and her daughter Heidi O’ Brodovich. Together they lovingly prepare fresh food made from local and Saskatchewan ingredients. The restaurant it’s self is warm and inviting, with the smell of fresh baked artisan bread and gourmet coffee brewing, it’s instantly relaxing. Their creations are extensive from hearty soups, to fruit smoothies, to lentil walnut burgers and don’t worry meat lovers they also have local bison and their house burgers. You always feel good after eating there as they use the best quality ingredients.

They also specialize in small event catering, so if you are planning an upcoming event, give them a shout at 982-4240 and let them work with you to develop the perfect menu!

Yellow Fender is open year round and hours vary depending on the time of year, just give them a shout to verify.

During the summer they are open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Tuesday – Saturday, Sunday 10:00 am – 6:00pm and closed on Mondays.

Chuckla Productions visits Flora Bora

Last summer we had the privalage of having Charles Laferriere of Chuckla Productions visit Flora Bora and create our very first video. It was a treat to watch him in action as it was evident he has finely tuned his craft with his attention to details, creativity, and ease of progress.

Charles has over 20 years of experience writing, editing, producing and directing television productions. Hello…I hope your day is moving along splendidly. I just came across this great website called Give Tree Gifts, which I am so pleased to share with you. This Saskatchewan business offers a whole range of green gift ideas, but what strikes a cord with me is the tree seedling gifts. There are so many special occasions that would benefit from such a thoughtful gift, from party favors to Earth-day celebrations. The one I fancy, is the use of tree seedlings as wedding favors for couples wanting a more eco-friendly day…I love it! Such a beautiful way to start their lives together.
