Uni Knot How to tie the uni to uni knot. Dave Henault demonstrates how to tie the uni to uni. The Double Uni is an excellent knot that is used to join to lines that are close in diameter. In fishing applications it is used to join fishing leaders to fishing line. Braided fishing lines like powerpro and fireline used in conjunction with a fluorocarbon or monofilament leader are highly effective. The leader serves many purposes it offers abrasion resistance, stretch and is easier to handle for the angler. To join the leader and the braided line the uni to uni offers strength and reliabilty while maintaining a natural presentation without the weight or bulkiness of a swivel.
