Fort De Soto Pelican Show

For those of you that do not know, Fort De Soto was named America's Top Beach for the last two years. It is well known for it's white sand, calm clear water. Unfortunately with the state budget cuts the grassy areas are beginning to look more natural since no maintenance is sparse. But there are still some really cool things to photograph in the way of birds and landscape. The Habitat area is r...

Early Sunday Mornings is my favorite time for slipping out of the house and walking around the corner to a nearby pond. This morning I was out in time to see day break through the night and hear Mother Nature as she began to awake.
As I have said before, morning light is the most kind when shooting nature. Just as she begins trickling herself over the area. The water, the foliage, the animals,...

FWC brings habitat-conservation tools to the Internet

Anyone in the land-use planning and development industry can tell you that pulling together pertinent wildlife inform...

Snowy Egret's Wry Look

The look he was giving me was a little disturbing. Since he was courting and looking at me with this funny gaze I almost ran in the other direction thinking he must be really confused!

Snowy Egrets are quite smaller than the Great Egrets and are completely white in color.

At the height of courtship their plumes are remarkable in appearance and they do not mind displaying them.

It is an...
