District 4 County Commissioner Brent Chesney has made some upgrades for all to enjoy so get those bathing suits ready for summer fun at Parker Pool.

The pride of Flour Bluff was shining bright today as JJ signed.  This is a dream come true for all athletes and their family .  Life after high school football and now playing college ball inspires all of our young athletes to know they can achieve their dreams if they are willing to work hard.

The Flour Bluff/Padre Island Coastal Cotillion held their etiquette workshop on October 5th, 2025, at the home of board member Mrs. Roberta Soward. The topics for the meeting included introductions, manners, dining etiquette, resumes and job interviews.

 Flo East, senior adviser, provided a review of upcoming events and necessary preparations for the Presentation Ball in February 2025.  Mrs. Soward began the workshop with dinner etiquette and varied formal place settings. The debutantes were given the opportunity to view a table prepared by Mrs. Soward for the most formal dining setting and then another less formal dining option. Appropriate social graces were reviewed by the board members and the senior debutantes were then told that these skills would be applied during the dinner at the Coastal Cotillion Presentation Ball in February 2026. Other topics discussed were social media and new techniques for job interviews.  Questions from the debutantes on formal dining were addressed. Flo East concluded the workshop with a review of the November dress critique that will follow the Fall Luncheon. She also discussed invitations for the Presentation Ball and the individual tables decorations to be created by each debutante.

 The Coastal Cotillion is an organization established to educate and enlighten the young women in Flour Bluff and Padre Island community about the social and educational opportunities available to them as they move through their post-graduation training or college endeavors and create their professional careers. They are provided social development through guest speakers, workshops, and social functions where they can advance interpersonal skills as they approach adulthood. The Coastal Cotillion is open to any senior high school transfer student or girls living in Flour Bluff or on Padre Island.

 The next Coastal Cotillion Event will be the Fall Luncheon in November with the special guest speaker, Mrs. Jeanie Paluseo.

Friday 9.18.2025 was a beautiful evening to honor children with pediatric cancer.  It was a heart felt moment for all as we heard about those with cancer , in remission and deceased.  I always say say everyday is a gift from God.  Be Thankful!.  The children were all smiles as they trooped in with the varsity foot ball team. How special is that?  Very special!  As I looked around the stadium from the home side to the spectator side I wondered is any of those kids might be the next statistic.  I pray not.  Great strides have been made in the cure for pediatric and adult cancer but not enough.  Last night was a moment to reflect and remember.

Afternoon Delight

            The Flour Bluff/Padre Island Coastal Cotillion began the new season with a Mother/Daughter event at the elegant home of Mrs. Ashley Gage and daughter Miss Presley Gage were the hostesses for this event.  The “Afternoon Delight” began with a of delicious desserts which included mini cupcakes, decorated cookies made special for the debutantes, fruit and sparkling lemonade.  The dress attire was Sunday apparel. The purpose of this first social event was to introduce all twenty-three girls and their mothers to each other.  The debutantes for the 2025-2026 season are: Miss Natalie Candler, Miss Emmerie Chapa, Miss Samantha Click, Miss JoHanna Copeland, Miss Lola Fisher, Miss Michie Freeborn, Miss Presley Gage, Miss Alexandra Garza, Miss Savannah Gerlach, Miss Zoe Gil, Miss Sophia Koester, Miss Audrey Lee, Miss Morgan Nelson, Miss Camille Neri, Miss Alexandria Orta, Miss Journey Paluseo, Miss Presley Poole, Miss Sadie Rinard, Miss Andrea Sies, Miss Kate Smith, Miss Isabella Taylor, Miss Mya Walker, Miss Emily Williams,

After the delicious dessert and fruit buffet, the girls were given their packets

which included information on the Presentaton Ball, social events for the season, dress etiquette for all events, the purpose of R.S.V.P. and thank you notes, and calendars for the rest of the season. Upcoming events include a luncheon, an etiquette workshop, a dress critique and a Christmas ornament exchange.

The Coastal Cotillion Club is an organization established to educate and enlighten the young women in the Flour Bluff and Padre Island community about the social and educational opportunities available to them as they develop their college and professional careers.  They are offered speakers, workshops, and social functions where they can develop their personal skills as they approach adulthood.  The Coastal Cotillion Club is open to any senior girl attending Flour Bluff High School.

The Presentation Ball will be held on February 7^th, 2026 at the Omni corpus Christi.
