Goodbye, Duke

Two days ago, our dog Duke had passed away. He had what they called Distemper. ♥ He survived almost two years ago. I remembered him being not able to walk. It’s almost like a stroke. He was on IV therapy and meds. Then he got back on his feet again but the vet said there’s no cure for it. We kept him from mingling from our other dogs in case of infection. Last Tuesday, he wasn’t able to walk again. There’s IV again and meds. But I think the last incident already took a toll on his health. Last Thursday, he passed away. ;( It’s hard talking about this. It’s hard losing a pet. He’s been with us for years.
I’ve always believe, again and again, that all dogs go to heaven. ♥

Still going floral

I’m currently on Day 2 of my vacation leave from the hospital (aka work). Life can never be so sweet (and boring at the same time). :) You know what I mean. Spent most of the day in front of the screen, catching up on some long overdue blog reading and deciding whether or not to go ahead with the blog design changes for the next month or so. I know. I have nothing to do except tweak a few codes here and there. Anyway, If you need help on your WordPress site, just email me and I’ll make sure to email you back.

I’ll be asking someone to do the blog header. Just the blog header. The rest will be coded by yours truly. ♥ ;) And I think I’ve found the perfect person for the job. She’s Filipino like me and I’m sure you’ll love to meet her soon. ;) ♥ I think the theme for the header will still be pink. Haha… And as always, floral! I’m thinking a lot of peonies lately. Don’t you love these flowers? ;)

I can’t believe it’s almost February! It will be six more days to go till my vacation starts! ;) It will be one of those days when I don’t have to drag myself every morning to work five days a week! Work is killing me slowly, physically and emotionally. You probably haven’t heard my whole story. I’ve been through a lot. And I mean a lot. It will be great taking a break from all the stress, and enjoy the simple things that life has to offer. ♥

Anyway, I just wanted to share with you a new software I’ve been playing with since I found out about it from Lisa. I totally love this, and you also probably will.

Here is the original photo taken just last weekend.

And here’s the one after I used the ToyCamera AnalogColor. See the lovely vignette? And the bluer sky?

Of course, there are lots of presets to choose from.

You can also tweak your own settings and achieve that analog-looking photo or until you’re satisfied! Sweet. ♥

You can download the software and try it but I think you have to buy it to be able to save your photos. You can buy ToyCamera AnalogColor for just $13-14. ;)

Dinagyang Festival 2012

Yesterday, we celebrated the Dinagyang festival. We went downtown to check out what everyone was selling. ;) The streets were closed for the event and local sellers were able to find their spot to lay out their wares. ♥ There were also clothes, jewelry, hats, etc… and even food.

These are made by the Gawad Kalinga Terracotta Youth Artists Group. The terracotta project was initiated by the SMART communications to tap artistic talent in the youth and to provide a means for their livelihood.

There was also these colorful alphabet bracelet for the kids.

There were also these rubber critters that my boyfriend was excited about. He bought one roach for me because he knows I hate them.
I can’t wait to show this to my almost two year old niece. ♥ Haha!

We took a lot of pictures of people in costume, those who joined the ati-ati dance competition. ♥ They colored their bodies dark brown and must use indigenous materials for their costume and props.

I really had enjoyed my weekend mostly because the festival gave me a reason to take out my camera and take pictures. ;D Have a great week!

Damn flu again

I must definitely have low immune system. I got the flu again. *sigh* It’s my first flu this year. And definitely there’s more to come. I drank lots of water and taken my Vit C’s, but there’s no stopping those runny nose and watery eyes. It’s perfect for the humid weather right now. ♥ ;D

Anyway, it’s better to have the flu right now than this coming weekend. We’re celebrating Dinagyang 2012 in Iloilo! ♥ It will be the perfect time to get hold of my camera, and take some pictures without worrying what might other people think. ;) It might also be the perfect time to finish the film roll I have with my Superheadz UWS. ;)

Oh, you might have noticed I removed my GFC widget on my sidebar. That’s because Google will make it available only to Blogger blogs soon. And since I’m on WordPress, I wouldn’t be able to use this much longer later on. It would be probably best if you subscribe via feed or via email. ♥
