Ravi Famous is a new womenswear fashion brand based in London. Their prices are really reasonable; plus there are some discounts on offer and there are some really great pieces of clothing and so in this blog post I'll review some of them..

I got this Hailey Fitted Dress from them. I really like it because it's very simple but stylish still. It kind of reminds me of a posh look I used to see in Yves St Lauren clothing campaign ads, where posh rich boys and girls were all dressed up in a similar clothing, that reflected their unique, posh lifestyle.

It's dark blue navy colour. It has white collar attached and white buttons statement at the front.

The dress is available on sizes S/M and M/L.

It's possibly not a perfect season for dresses apparently, but when you like something, the sooner you get it - the better.

There's nothing worse than not buying something now and regretting it later as it might be no longer available.

University of Sunderland students spend a day with Channel 4

"The Power of We" Blog Action Day 2012 Entry:

The University of Sunderland got a chance to hold a special 4Talent Days session with Channel 4 at the Tom Cowie Lecture Theatre this Thursday, the 11th October. It has united those interested in creative industries and want to become a part of a “4Talent family” that will hopefully help them build a career in the media.

A dozen students from various backgrounds came along to listen to Priscilla Baffour's inspiring talk about all the opportunities 4 Talent can offer across the board, new media, TV, film4, online, journalism and many more.

What are 4Talent Days like?

For those who have never heard of them, as it is stated on Channel 4 website, 4Talent Days are events where they "spill the beans on how their creative industry works", encouraging new, young people, who have fresh ideas and bright minds to join their team through placement opportunities that might lead on to something bigger.

Who are 4Talent Days for?

They refer to anyone who is over 16 and who wants to break into the media or creative industries."We never say ‘you must have this’ or ‘you must be like that’ – we love it when the group is really diverse. All that matters is that you’re truly passionate about our industry, and that you’ve got a bit of raw talent that sets you apart from the crowd," reveals Channel 4 website.

What it was like to attend the 4Talent talk in Sunderland?

Priscilla Baffour started her talk straight to the point encouraging us to think out of the box. “You are all here at the university at the moment, doing fantastic job - doing your degree - but it is all about what’s next. While you here what you guys can do to get yourselves prepared for work in a big media industry.”

Priscilla was very artistic and friendly. “Do you guys have your phones? I want you to take the phones out, I want you to use your phones - I want you to get tweeting!”

She pointed out that now we can do so many things ourselves using social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube) for promoting ourselves and we should all take advantage from that. “You can put your content out there and you don’t have to hang around and wait for someone to give you that job!”

She also shared examples of people who made it and who are now "getting millions" and I’m sure that inspired some students who haven’t thought of using social media tools much more professional before.

Apart from honest responses and advises guest speaker Priscilla Baffour gave us, what really surprised and inspired me was how much some people working in the media and creative industries can be determined to help and assist to young people. Especially it helps those people who have nothing yet, but who are at the same time willing step by step to get all that so needed experience in the creative industries.

Attending such inspiring talks can definitely be a life-changing experience for some students. Miton Gafur, doing his second year of a Media degree in Sunderland, said: I've always wanted to work for Channel 4. This masterclass was really useful. Now I'm at least one step forward and who knows."

Josh Coles, Media Production (TV & Radio) graduate from University of Sunderland, said the talk was really encouraging. "Finding the right job in the media is very difficult, it requires both, knowledge and relevant experience. It gets easier once you're in the row and that's what Priscilla was basically saying."

Now as we’re part of 4Talent family - what shall we do to kickstart career in creative industries?

Now we know it’s very competetive and hard to get into. Thus, it’s changing so much. We were inspired and taught to be really out there networking, meeting loads of people like Priscilla, not being afraid to talk to people you admire, as the worst thing that can happen is that they’ll say “no”, speaking to colleagues who are over there, knowing what’s going on in the media industry and who can we meet and get information from. And even more importantly before that we need to know exactly what we want to do.

It started when I was a little girl gloating over the gorgeous dresses on the television screen, when I first saw Miss Universe beauty contest. For somebody else it would have been the actual dress, but for me it was more about that subtle and inspiring feminine walk, which my bittersweet memory muscled in on. I’ve always wanted to be that girl - confident and beautiful - ever since. I felt it was something about the footwear. And now, I know, that it was all about the heels...

Falling in love with them came gradually, though. Switching from the black leather steel toe boots to high-heels wasn’t easy for a 16-year-old-punk me. Something radical should have happened, but there was nothing - just a dramatic, ultimate fashion contradiction. I started attending a modelling school at the age of 16 and here the confession continues...

That was the first time in my life I was not sure what I was doing, but, I absolutely loved it. We were taught various things, including dancing, acting, posing, that helped me to obtain and develop self-confidence in the role of model, although I found catwalk lessons really challenging sometimes. In the very beggining, it was quite embarrassing to appear on a catwalk with such a confidence as if you were a diva (making sure everybody believed you actually were), while everyone was watching you, especially while other girls secretly laughed at me.

I knew some of them did. There was even a reason for that. I was the only girl in the group who never stopped wearing military leather steel toe boots. The thing is, I never wanted to be the girl next door. I thought I’d rather look cool. I’m sure I did.

I couldn’t tell anyone and kept hiding the fact that I was carrying heels with me to my classes, so that I wouldn’t lose, what I thought, was my own identity. That’s how my very first experience with high-heels started. Poorly and cautiously.

I would never have guessed I would be soon running about the busy streets of one of the fashion capitals; running in circles from one metro to another, catching and breathing hot air from the buses. holding a map in my hands and, at the same time, having twelve-centimetre-high platform wedges on, when thermometer showed no less than 33 degress. That all happened after only a year.

I lived and worked as an assistant in a modelling agency in Milan. This city made my reinvention possible. Living there became an endless catwalk that worked even stronger than a scary mirror hall. It didn’t even matter that italians were already shorter without me even wearing heels. “I’m living in Milan“ - I kept repeating to myself. I became aware of that and didn’t go back to my teenage look again.

Now my boyfriend comments, with reproach, “Why do you nearly always wear heels?“ I know that on occasions like this I appear to be an inch taller than him. However, that doesn’t stop me wearing my beloved platform shoes. I love them... both. And why shouldn’t I? I am not yet Miss Universe, but I am, at least, confident and beautiful.

It might be difficult to understand how in the middle of nowhere some old-fashioned trends are welcome back again. It happened only very recently when stiletto nails have pushed the round and squire shapes from the top, but it feels strong. Especially after celebrities took on it, scarily sharp and long stiletto nails are officially on and it’s very much likely to become a long-lasting trend.

When we’re talking about long pointy nails, we no longer associate them with Cruella’s de Vil as it is not that type of thing. Now, after being captured on the hands of Rihanna, Fergie, Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga it is much likely to be seen as the hottest way to emphasize and sharpen our feminine fragile beauty and self-confidence.

Lana Del Rey is one of the biggest inspirations of how to follow the trend. Even though not that much time passed since we first heard and saw Video Games and felt obsessed by her talent and extraordinary beauty, it's official: Lana’s Del Rey obsession is on. She colours her long, pointy nails in bright red, in yellow or gold. We love.

When it comes to the season, for the summer we see bright red, orange and yellow palette. Much darker colours, such as dark blue, purple, brown and black may appear for the next season. It is a well-deserved prediction, as it would be a perfect match for this autumn/winter’s femme fatale look, seen in Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and many other collections.

Not sure how it would look on you? That’s still worth to have a goal.

Fashion always requires some efforts so there’s no excuse not to.

Barbour designs 2012 Ne1’s Newcastle Fashion Week Promotional T-shirt

NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week promotional event will be taking place on Monday, the 30^th of April in the exhibition park, in the heart of Newcastle city centre. All the profits that will come from sale of Barbour designed NFW T-shirts will go to Metro radio’s charity, Cash for Kids.

Taking the British countryside as their inspiration, the Barbour has designed commemorative NFW T-shirts and pendants that are aimed for fashionistas who want to get their hands on a piece of NFW memorabilia.

The upcoming Newcastle Fashion week 2012 is predicted to be massive this year. As the press release has announced, it will start from Saturday 26^th of May and will run until Sunday, the 3^rd of June.

According to Sandra Tang, Newcastle Fashion Week and Digital Co-ordinator, NE1’s Fashion Week will be massive this year, as “ it will be upholding even more events when it did last year”

A young fashion designer, Suzanne Porter, said: “It’s fantastic to be showcasing my collection again - I’m sure that every year NFW will get bigger & better".

Another person in charge of this event, Sara Ragan, said “Last year, New1’s Newcastle Fashion Week’s Limited Edition T-shirts were sold out three weeks before Fashion Week even started.”

This year, demand for the exclusive celebratory T-shirts is likely to be massive, thanks to Ne1’s collaboration with international heritage and lifestyle clothing brand, Barbour.

Merchandise will be available exclusively in Fenwick from 1^st of May 2012.

Liz Lamb: "Long hours, no lunch brakes, but if you enjoy it - it's worth it""

Career in fashion journalism is not all easy glamour - it can often mean hard slog. Raminta Paukstyte talks to a journalist who discovered how true that is.

Not everyone has a legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour in his or her family to open the door to a career in fashion. Liz Lamb, blogger and fashion & beauty writer from the North East, currently working at ncjmedia, for the Evening Chronicle, The Sunday Sun and The Journal Live Blog knew that well but that didn’t stop her. Liz shares her own experience, how she went to long far distances to achieve what she really wanted.

Fashion business nowadays appears to be shocking sometimes. In the early beginning of her career Liz went for the interview for the Cosmopolitan and was rejected because of the funniest reason ever. „I was told I was too experienced for the role and I didn‘t get that job“- Liz admits smiling. It appears soon, she accepted it more like a lesson that rather strengthened and challenged her more than faced down.

That wasn’t the only time when she was not selected for the role, though. After she finished her degree in University she did an internship in Daily Mirror based on fashion coverage. While she was there a job came up. “I thought: ‘Brilliant, I’m gonna get this job that I always wanted but, unfortunately, the job went to a friend of the fashion editor’s daughter, who never done any experience there’ “– sadly memorizes Liz.

However, life is full of rises and falls. In order to improve her news writing and interviewing skills, she took an intensive six months course of Newspaper Journalism in Newcastle. After that she had a chance for eight months job training where she worked on a weekly newspaper of the North East. “I did various things such as reporting, feature writing, council meetings…”- mentions Liz.

The way she listed these, however, revealed quite a lot of monotony she may experienced there and some kind of disappointment too, as she did not exactly what she wanted. Later she went to work for Northern Echo, where Liz promoted regional reporting, covering all sorts of stories as well as feature writing. All of these positions lacked fashion background. Even then she didn’t surrender and didn’t forget her real goals. “But I really really wanted to get into features and get into fashion.”

Eventually, successful start at Evening Chronicles was what helped her to become more independent in her writing. She is already two years writing features there. But that’s just a little part of her role today. “I do two pages of fashion every week for the Journal, two pages for the Chronicle. I do a fashion column on Saturday on a journal; I’ve got fashion and beauty blog. ” – she says.

Her responsibilities may sound enormous. It seems that she hasn’t got time for herself, especially after she admitted cheerfully: “I haven’t found my wedding dress yet”. There appears no complains from Liz’s lips, though. “I do a lot myself. It‘s long hours, no lunch breaks, but if you enjoy it- it’s worth it.” Time stops even this girly chat becoming conversation slowly, leaving a lot of positivism from such an inspirational, full of enthusiasm personality.

Long black leather shoes

That was a really funny story how I've got those shoes:

I was in my way to uni; perhaps it was a first time I was not running late so I was going very slowly and when I felt I'll be too early an idea topped up into my head to go to have a look to any of the high-street stores. New look was in my way. At that time I felt that one of my heels (poor quality shoes but at that time I really wanted them and ordered them online from chinese online store) is not stable and I felt uncomfortable about that. This is how my already slow catwalk into super-slow walk.

Basically, after 2 mins in the store I ended up leaving it with a new pair of shoes -I must confess that was quick, that is just not me to be that quick and careless - it was a massive 70% sale so I grabbed the last pair of long leather shoes for only 30 pounds and managed to put my old Chinese shoes to my (luckily empty) bag so that I wouldn't need to come back home to get rid of them.

That is exactly the same outfit I was wearing that slow walk to uni day.

On the plus side, shoes proved being really comfortable and good quality. I've never been a huge fan of leather - usually if I liked some shoes I didn't care much is it the real leather or not. I've never been a huge fan of long shoes either - it always seemed to me it is something I can hardly adapt to my daily life, especially after many years seeing my mother wearing all kind of long leather shoes to her work.

However, these kind of shoes are not for everyone - you won't look elegant or girly wearing them.

Another minor detail- they do not have a zip so sometimes it is not that easy to take them off.

To sum up, I think these shoes are ideal for someone who is confident to be extraordinary and to play with their look.

I am happy and somebody doesn't like me??? Perhaps, but it is not the story I wanted to tell you this time. That is a song I can't fully understand but still I can't take out of my head sometimes -

Can men and women really be 'just friends'? (+VIDEO)

“We’re just friends.” Whenever I hear this statement it leaves me looking like Mr Bean at his last attempt to smile. Not necessary because I don’t believe it can be true, and not even because I remember ambiguously claiming it myself only several months ago, while I must admit it was not exactly true. As we all know well, exceptions are like love - 'always in the air'. We hear many cases, stories, glories about it, but there is always a big room for debate – can men and women be ‘just friends’?

Surely, being too categorical and flat about close friendships between opposite sexes is not ideal for a greater analysis about this issue. However, having a strong belief from personal experiences that it’s not possible for men and women to be just friends because of sexual reasons as well as a dozen of people and psychology lecturer’s opinions combined, this feature challenges and unravels that matter from its ground.

Around 20 students were interviewed and most of their thinking sounded far too optimistically innocent. Several said they believe it’s not possible for men and women to be ‘just friends’ without sex getting in their way. According to many more, such friendship is very possible and they admitted having different sex friends themselves. Although the matter of how much time they spend together with their opposite sex friend was not included in the questionnaire. Could it be the case?

It might be argued that it’s enough for the opposite sexes to spend much time together to make them fall in love with each other. “The more time you spend with someone the more you find him or her attractive”, psychology lecturer of University of Sunderland, Dr Daniel Farrelly says.

It appears that this is especially the case for males. “They have a high level of testosterones that leads to being more likely to be looking for any sort of sexual relationship.”

Moreover, males can be wrapped around the finger much easier if you’re flirting and giving them signs. According to Farrelly, people, especially males, do pick up on that. And is this where the status ‘just a friend’ vanishes?

“Probably could be. For more long-term relationships”, he continues, “it’s definitely a good idea to have a good understanding of what person is like first” rather than going straight into relationships.

I won’t start crying now complaining about how “just a friend” managed to steal my ex-boyfriend’s heart from me by spending much time playing football together with him and his mates (what I was physically not able to do being 2000 kilometers away). That made his “I won’t ever need any other and moreover I don’t want nothing but you” statement not valid. However, that does say a lot.

On the other hand, according to Dr Janet Reibstein, professor of psychology at Exeter University quoted in Psychologies (April issue 2012, UK edition I picked up in my way to University this morning) feature Just good friends, sometimes “you become so used to someone you can’t see them as a sexual object.”

After interviewing three “couples” a journalist Zoe Strimpel discovers that men and women can be friends of the closest and most non-sexual variety. However, a confession of one pair of friends featured in the magazine: “We used to sit and cuddle and watch films” do not convince me at all as it doesn’t sound very innocent and promising.

It’s a clear fact that different sexes attract each other. Thanks to the physiology and the natural gravity of attraction there’s nearly no chance that none of us have ever dreamt of ‘what if we could be together?’ when in practice the spoken language should be translated to "I want him or her in my bed!"

MYSTERY OF VALENTINES

"Buy 1 get 2 free" deals are never that horrible like they are on Valentine's day. It's such a massive consumption fest; as if the more you get for your beloved, the more you love him/her. Many people know that does only show how much money you have in your pockets but they still keep buying expensive stuff 'just in case'.

I saw a young man yesterday carrying a massive Teddy-bear and two bouquets of flowers with a "buy one get second half-price" label on it.

I heard on a metro two teenagers talking today. "What did your new bf give you on Valentine's day?" (another girl quickly listed things she got from him!) Oh that sounds nice.. he really loves you!"

But what if a man of your dreams cannot afford to buy you something expensive?

Looking back to my own Valentine's day experiences, as far as I remember it was never a good day of mine. When I was around 14-year-old that was perhaps the most fun times to celebrate such a ridiculous fest like this. Together with my classmates we made so much fun writing secret love letters for each other as well as for our young year crushes. We used to stick whole faces with those funny little heart-shaped stickers and made pictures of each other. Then I was 15 though, things slightly changed. I'm not sure was it more because I started caring about having a boyfriend or just simply I wanted to feel older I've experienced an affair during Valentine's day. We were drinking before lessons and later during lessons as well and we were caught and written to police records. To appear on the school's notice board was an adventure at that time, so all in all I regretted nothing I think.

I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the evening of 13th of February this year.
However, sitting nearly in the same place like I did last year, a painful memory popped up into my head. I remembered of something, I found that something and had a read through everything I've ever received and that all felt so bad.. Nearly like as if I've experienced that all again. (One more reason to hate this fest?) I've always been a memories keeper; I hardly open to other people but when I do so, it is so hard to take those people from head.. and sometimes from my heart. First love, love, love. What it's good for? Absolutely nothing.

You are only young once

I overslept and missed my lectures today. Oh no, not again! However, must confess I did it in purpose, actually; I had such a lovely dream about me having amazing holidays, tasting gorgeous food from South America’s kitchen and, at the same time, kissing the man of my dreams very pleasantly. I wanted that all last forever…or at least another hour or two. Sometimes I wonder - why should we always do what we are supposed to do instead of doing or looking for creative ways of realization of something we really want to?

There are so many things I’d like to do, including..
traveling to the beautiful places somewhere around UK and also in other countries. Finding and getting an internship possibility somewhere in most amazing place ever, what I’m sure I’ll get someday soon, meeting and getting inspiration from influential people and keep inspiring others too, get acting experience, go to the seaside much more often, spend as much time as possible with the beloved ones and keep dreaming about new different things. Instead of saying “I don’t have time”, which is absolutely true in most cases, I bare that wish in mind, keep writing about it in my reminder, keep adding a little note about it in my notebooks, papers, everywhere, so that I would always see it and keep refreshing myself with this dream, so that I keep thinking about it that I want to do it so much and there are no big reasons why I shouldn’t try it once I get all the things organised on time.

Miss Britney Spears turned 30 on Friday (December the 2nd) and with it the desparing realisation that time doesn't stand still, looking back how rapidly and suddenly idols change. Britney used to be the goddess for many teenage girls but times change and princesses do also. Sadly but true - she is not that pop princess anymore.

I used to love Britney. Absolutely adore her, actually. Those big eyes, blonde wavy hair - I am sure there was something in her innocent look that every teen girl tried to seek. And there was nothing wrong with that.

I kept buying magazines just because of her every time I found a little picture of the girl who did it again inside of them... I was proud of myself knowing word for word (as I've learnt them by heart!) and kept singing every single song she sang, even though I didn't know English then.

Then there's even more embarrassing (?!) memory that I tried to do my hair in the way not a girl, not yet a woman did and looked for clohes similar to those she wore, so that I could look like her. All in all: that was all rather positive impact she gave to me.

It's not even because she got older or something that we stopped admiring the girl next door look. We don't actually need that innocence anymore - sadly or not - it is no longer attractive in this sexualized society we live in. Then it comes to judgment - what do we have attractive today?

There's no such a thing as 'innocence'. We have Rihanna, pop princess, who sings about how badly she wants sex and that chains and whips excite her...

We also have Lady Gaga, whose music video clips could surely compete with pornography and American culture "beauty", music awards' winner Nicky Minaj, whose plastic surgery-shaped ass for a public eye is much more important than she and her music is. Some artists, to be honest, actually deserve much more to be nominated and awarded for the best bump of the year rather than the best album of the year, but, anyway...

This is where it all goes. What is wrong with that? I'd rather be kicked and misunderstood but would ask the new, next generation's Britney to hit us, babies, one more time, because I'd never like to see my future-teen-daughter seeking to look like one of those new, sexualized pop princesses.

How the New Media Works: Print vs. Online

World’s leading fashion Website Style.com has just launched the print magazine this Monday, 31st of Oct. That could be seen as a risky step in this “networkable” society we live in. Many concerns have been expressed during the last years, especially after digital products, such as iPad appeared. Print is consistently predicted being in crisis. How online publishers challenge the “offline” market? Is the print dead?

What “online market” really matters?

Social media is becoming more and more significant; it is the tool for many of new organisations and businesses to start and expand their branding campaigns. Kristina Vasilieva, who started as a model and today she is also a photographer, a graphic designer, an executive beauty editor for faceonmagazine.com, High End retoucher and a digital artist, who also owns KVmedia Studio explained, how the New Media allows succeeding and how she attempts to benefit from that: “Personally I don’t think that any other media form could help to achieve this level of authority I have now. I literally don't have enough time in my day unless it will be reasonably beneficial to myself and my businesses.”

Taking into account career prospects, while print magazines reduce jobs, online websites keep expanding them. “I used to be a magazine writer, but when the winds started to shift, I ventured into the virtual world”, an ex feature writer, now a blogger, Ronnie Citron-Fink wrote for Care2.com. There is immediacy, indeed, to write about things and explore them in the most interactive and accessible way, the “offline” dimension cannot offer.

Where the “offline” market overcomes the new media platforms

Information is definitely more accessible online; however it is not always reliable. “Everyone is opening up online magazines and blogs, but not everyone can be a reliable publisher”, Adam Danyal, the branding consultant and the founder and director of Superstarmagazine.com said.
Similarly, difficulty remains in finding quality contents. Everyone is writing the same content that can simply be copied across hundreds of websites, so that the strongest story may not always be read. Results we get while searching for a story on Web are categorized depending not only on its relevance; e marketing is the leading stage for that (Google AdWords, for instance). There is information overload, especially in the entertainment sector, and it cannot be controlled or regulated, as it would be in print publications.

Is the print dying?

The “battery life” for digital devises such as the iPad and other digital products is still not good enough. It is first of all an imaginary dimension, so that it cannot fully compensate the hard copy of a magazine. Additionally, advertisers still pay much more for print editions than they would ever pay for an online magazine. Having these factors in mind, a very recent Style.com decision to launch a brand new print magazine could be possibly seen not as challenging as respectful. It can make a difference.

Adam Danyal had also something to add to this: “I have also always wanted to launch a print version. I think it creates a new dimension into reaching an “offline” market that is only used to a physical product and to tap into the 'offline' advertising market.” Print will always be there, even if it is a declining market. “Women still prefer having a physical copy of the magazine to read on the train or when travelling”, Adam Danyal said.

Looking to the future

Writing for print requires a continuous investment in time and greater analysis of the regular reader needs. Major companies (such as Apple, iPad) are pushing this further and no doubt publishers are, and, nevertheless will be, taking even more advantage of that.

There are more considerations of how future magazines can transform. The major new trend we are seeing, especially in fashion industry, is the publishing of content as it happens (such a fashion show) on online magazines such as Now Fashion or reporting about it live on Twitter. This might expand into other sectors, such as music and film too. A very likely prediction to happen is that print will become more exclusive and we will see a rise in luxury magazines that are targeted at a niche market. Ideally, subscriptions will be forgotten once there is an established market leader that delivers quality content, instantaneously on whichever device we are using.

Pretty girls are the happiest girls in the world: they have the man and job of their dreams; they are the people everybody wants to be friends with. Until this very moment, when the success ends, love is gone and those “friends” seem happier than ever before. The only thing that left is to be an object of desire. It’s not that easy.

I’d never thought what exceptional are the lessons of life I can get working as a bartender. “Be careful, there are many men who will try to get into your pants”, whispered stranger once. “I know”, I remember, was my answer....

The truth is I don’t realise sometimes, how often I get much attention from men only because they think how pretty I am. Honestly, I give many efforts to believe that there might be more reasons, why they fancy me, but, unfortunately, there is usually nothing just that. You might think it is easier for me, but actually it is harder to know when somebody is saying that beyond the surface.

“But at least you get that attention, so shut up b*tch!”- is that something what you all are thinking about? Yes, I do get it, but do you really think this is what truly makes you feel happy? “Every time I come to this bar I fall in love with this girl.” “You’re beautiful.” “Thank you.” “You’re absolutely beautiful”. “Thank you!” “Do you have a boyfriend?” “Yes.” [Lying] “Please, smile!” “No. I don’t want to.” “Why?” “Because I am sad.” [Bartender. Is. Crying]. Why I was lying and why was the bartender crying?

That is far from enough to fulfil my expectations to meet a man of my dreams. Let’s blame fairytales and movies that make you think about “the happy end”. OK, talking about love, it doesn’t necessary have to be true. I consider my romance criteria (like any other girl I suppose?) rational if not mature, and this is what lets me down so much: that won’t last, and even being pretty can not handle with it.

People change, don’t they? I’d never guessed how ruthless I can become after hearing those compliments repeated for me all over again and again. Fake words, fake smiles, fake expectations, and fake people and fake me- I just can’t take it anymore.

It is so hard to believe in what people say. My “no” became stronger than ever before; I did not actually care much about the hurt looks on their faces. I stopped thinking of connivances at all. I relied on extremity instead. I stopped being myself for a while… The question here: was HE really worth THAT?

And only recently I decided to reorganize my thoughts about that by giving a chance for someone I like and started listen to my heart again. Feelings, you say? They are always here. “Love never change; those feelings are always here just they are transferred to another person”, a male friend says.

I am half-joking, of course, grasping so much from my own experience, as if it’s something nobody else have heard about and have never experienced. I know my personal life would not make the front-page news right now, but I believe there are many girls who might think: “Look at her, she is beautiful, life is much easier for her.” Think once again.

“Bartending life-school” keeps me refreshing. “Do you have a boyfriend? Would you go on a date with me?” [That person could be my grandfather. He looks really old. Cynic, random joke- isn’t it?] I disgusted so much of what was just being asked; tried to calm down and then again: “Would you date me? “[Pause] “I have money, you know…”

That just killed me. But this is something we should deal with.

When: It was somewhere in between summer and autumn, can't remember exactly because it took ages until I finally got all the images.

Theme/Inspiration: The link is no longer working, but brief sounded something like this: Wear something black, grey or white and as plain as possible, this is about you as the subject, not the clothes, no make up, hair down and a little messy. The most important thing is the natural and 'deconstructed' look and feel.
Clothes - simple - combination of black, white & denim pieces. Short denim shorts from label; high-wasted denim shorts, Topshop; denim vest, RiverIsland; white shirt from Milano, Italy; black jeans, Bershka; white mini skirt - h&m (all my own)

All in all, I felt really myself in this natural look. Some of them comented me being Barbara's Palvin lookalike in these pictures - if so -I don't mind at all. Barbara is even same age as me. She's definitely one of those new fashion world faces I like at the moment.

I absolutely adore going to the seaside sometimes! Usualy alone, but with my mum this time. She misses me so bad.. She came to uk to visit me for a couple of days. She is leaving tomorrow.
Today we gonna go for a drink (some cocktails probably) and later I will show her the club, where I work at the bar. Excited! btw, comments live here, promise.

Dream a little dream of me

Another photoshoot I had at the end of this summer. This time I simply feel like telling a story behing these series of fashion photography...

Remember having no idea, where I'm actually going, but at that time of my life I really wanted to go "somewhere - anywhere" - and perhaps maybe even not come back at all. (If only I could..) A wish to espace or dissapear - others would say. I call it an eternal piece.

I enjoyed every minute of my journey: looking through the train's and buses' windows and gloating over the gorgeous scenary of wild nature. That was all village, something I adore so much.

I arrived there in the early afternoon. Photographer took me to the cottage, where she and her family came for couple of weeks for holidays, where actually is her father's home. That is such a lovely place to live I think!

When it comes to the shooting, I felt being a character of a beautiful fairytale and that feeling continuously kept me inspiring all day long.

At the end of the day I maybe felt tired and cold, that doesn't really matter sometimes, when you feel taking an important part of creative process, such as photography.. When you devide yourself into little pieces and give all your feelings, fantasies and hopes into something bigger, that's what I call a truly piece of art.

I've never guessed that wearing 4-5 sizes' bigger than usualy blouse could be so fun! That was uk size 16. Monsoon. Weather was just perfect. But I ended up my day wet anyway, because that was raining in Sunderland when I came back from Newcastle and plus the bus (yes, the bus, that was funny that day when I came to metro station it was written:"no metro service today" , that was the first time I had to go there by bus.) so it stopped not near where I needed.
