<p>Hey, it is Patrick Allmond from JustAskPatrick.com, and today is Wednesday, February 15th, and I just finished up a very exciting session here in Oklahoma City that you need to know about. For awhile now, there&#8217;s been kind of a gray area that&#8217;s been missing in our offering of services, and I feel it has been doing a disservice to the other local businesses here in Oklahoma City.</p>
<p>There are various ways you can learn about social media and learn about online marketing and learn about SEO. The easiest way is to just go to one of these little chintzy $20 seminars that you see, and you sit down with somebody for an hour and you learn just the very basics. You learn Social Media 101 or you learn WordPress 101, but your whistle just gets wetted. You don&#8217;t really walk away with the skills that you need, and you don&#8217;t really walk away with any personal advice on your situation.</p>
<p>The other end of the spectrum is you sit down with someone like me on an hour by hour basis, and I&#8217;m going to change you probably $175 an hour for my time, if not more. But that&#8217;s where you get the best attention. And another option even still is paying $49 a month for a marketing mojo inner circle membership, which if you&#8217;re interested in that, I would definitely considered that because that&#8217;s a good deal also.</p>
<p>But there&#8217;s been kind of a middle area there where maybe you&#8217;re on somewhat of a tight budget but you still need some personal one on one attention or maybe some attention from a group. It&#8217;s almost like a coaching group. Well guess what Focus is going to do? Focus has a coaching group starting. We just did an hour long session over at MACU, and we covered the basics of the coaching group. If you missed it, then this video is really going to help you out.</p>
<p>And here&#8217;s what we&#8217;re going to be doing. For four hours a month, we&#8217;re going to be meeting together with a social media coaching group, and everybody in the coaching group is going to be exclusive in their industry. In other words,<br />
there may not be two realtors in there or there may not be two of a particular kind of industry in there, just to make sure that people are comfortable. Each group is going to be limited to five people max, to make sure each person gets plenty of time. You&#8217;re going to have a coach like me, Patrick Allmond or someone from Focus Consulting, and we&#8217;re going to put together a curriculum for that four hour class. Each person in that four hour session is going to be able to cover their particular situation, their social media, their website, and some issues or challenges that they&#8217;re having.</p>
<p>First of all, you&#8217;re going to get one-on-one feedback from me in a group situation, which everybody else is going to benefit from, but you&#8217;re also going to get some immediate, great feedback from other people in the coaching group. So I don&#8217;t have a particular date for these starting yet, but, again, these groups will be limited to five people max. Now nobody will be able to walk in off the street.</p>
<p>All the group members will be able to approve each other. So if there&#8217;s somebody you&#8217;ve had a bad business relationship with in the past and you don&#8217;t want them in your group and you disapprove, that person won&#8217;t be in your group. It will be behind closed doors. Each person will also sign a confidentiality agreement saying that what we discuss in this room stays in this room and you don&#8217;t share it with others, and that includes me. If I give you advice for your industry in your room, I promise to not talk about your business in another group of mine.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re going to have multiple groups ongoing. All these groups are going to cover the things that you see in the online marketing mojo circle, which you can see right there on the homepage of AllAboutFocus.com. So this is something very exciting for us. There are going to be some other features as a result of being part of this group. We&#8217;re going to host your WordPress website and back up your WordPress website for free. You&#8217;re going to get access to the membership area as part of this. This is all going to be for a very nice, low monthly price. It&#8217;s not going to be your $20 or your $49 a<br />
month seminar, but compared to spending four hours with Patrick at $175 an hour, plus the $49 we charge for hosting, plus the $49 we charge for the membership site, you are going to be getting a steal. I&#8217;m not kidding you.</p>

<p>We had a pretty good turnout for our overview meeting, and I definitely have some people that are interested. We also had some people come down from another city, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they are also interested in starting a group up in Tulsa, which means, guess what Tulsa? You&#8217;re going to get Focus Consulting Services there in Oklahoma.</p>
<p>I can see me starting to travel up the turnpike every month or so to do a coaching group up in Tulsa also. Once that expands, we can have multiple groups there, and then the sky&#8217;s the limit for us. We can start opening coaching groups in other cities. I can see us going to Dallas. I can see us going to Kansas City. I&#8217;m very excited about this, because the online marketing and the social media is a topic that I absolutely love to teach.</p>

Make sure you&#8217;re dead serious about your success. <h2>It is so far from dead. It is alive, well and you need it</h2>
<p>How do you think people find out about your company brand? You can&#8217;t sit back, play on social media, SEO, YouTube and cross your fingers that your customers find you. TV Ads still work great. Billboards are not going anywhere soon, and direct mail still brings in customers.
<p>Do not buy into any hype that says Outbound Marketing is dead. Outbound Marketing goes by another name: ADVERTISING. It is still very much needed if you want to expand your customer base. </p>

He believed that he knew a plethora of information about the world of marketing. He had a product to sell, and he knew there was a great demand for his product. He knew all of the cool marketing acronyms (AIDA, CAB, etc). He knew that it was even possible to sell his product online 24 hours a day 7 days a week. But the one thing he didn’t know what how to get his message to the world without becoming some kind of “Online Marketing Supergeek”. The online marketing terms like “Email Marketing” and “Marketing Automation” had crossed his eyes in various Google searches before, but these might as well have been Latin to him. It all seemed so complicated and time consuming, and it would take 15 different tools to get everything done that he needed as well as thousands of dollars a month. There had to be a better way.</p>
<p>One day he made a decision that would forever change his life. He signed up for a free report from a company called <a href="https://crm.infusionsoft.com/go/sbmktguide/lallmond">Infusionsoft</a>. This was the beginning of his transformation. Between the online lessons and coaching he learned how to put his business on auto-pilot. Instead of using 15 tools to get the job done he was using </p>
<p>And then he attended <a href="http://2012.infusioncon.com/">Infusioncon 2012</a>. And instead of learning on his own in his mother’s basement, he was exposed to hundreds of amazing marketing minds. For three days he lived and breathed online marketing automation. These were “his people”. These people were small business owners just like him. They knew about his challenges. And they knew how to change the world with this tool called <a href="https://crm.infusionsoft.com/go/sbmktguide/lallmond">Infusionsoft</a>. </p>
<p>This guy is me, and this is what I am hoping to get out of Infusioncon 2012. I know the basics about <a href="https://crm.infusionsoft.com/go/sbmktguide/lallmond">Infusionsoft</a>, but I know there is so much that I don’t know. Sitting by myself in front of my own computer there is only so much that I can learn. I need to be exposed to others with more, less, and different experience with Infusionsoft to continue my growth. </p>

<p>As business owners we fall into the trap of thinking that we are selling our products. But we are not. We are selling the joy or pain-relief that our products bring.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t sell online marketing. I sell a platform that puts leads in your funnel, money in your pocket and food on your table.</p>
<p>She doesn&#8217;t sell a nutritional shake. She sells the fun of being healthy, smaller, and being able to fit into something other than mom jeans. </p>
<p>My mechanic does not just repair cars. He sells the peace of mind that comes with knowing your car will start every time you insert the key.</p>
<p>So let me ask you again &#8211; what are YOU selling? </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Original: <a href="http://allaboutfocus.com/social-media-2/if-you-talk-the-social-media-talk-walk-the-social-media-walk/">If you talk the social media talk, walk the social media walk</a></p><p>Every now and then I run into the account of a &#8220;social media visionary&#8221;. These people have great websites, great marketing (heck I&#8217;m jealous of some of their features), and a pretty snazzy media kit. What do I have? Just about everything on my website is self-made and self-recorded. I handle my own social media and speaking event bookings. If you want to talk to me you can actually talk to me. Just pick up the phone and call 405 283 6287. I&#8217;ll answer unless I am right in the middle of something. I won&#8217;t send you through my speaking agency even though I have that option. </p>
<p>But the ONE thing that frustrates me to no end is the &#8220;social media visionary&#8221; who does not use social media. How can you honestly believe a word that person says? How can you trust that person and pay that person for any consulting working whatsoever? I don&#8217;t get it. I don&#8217;t get how people ooh and ahh over someone who professes the importance of the future of technology and social media, but does not know how to use it to communicate with their own audience and the masses. </p>
<p>I don&#8217;t trust clean mechanics. And I don&#8217;t trust social media consultants that don&#8217;t use social media. Neither should you. </p>

What will you obsess over. What do you want to be doing the day you die.</p>

<p>How are you doing? It&#8217;s another quick video from Patrick at JustAskPatrick.com and Focus Consulting.</p>
<p>I did a great seminar a couple of nights ago for a group of brand-new business owners who were interested in getting involved in social media. We had about 120 minutes to spend together. What I spent most of my time on was not the technicalities of creating a Facebook page or how you should create your Twitter profile or your LinkedIn profile.  As new business owners, it was very important for me to communicate to them that there are some other things you should be doing first in social media.</p>
<p>One of the first thing you should be doing before you ever think about getting involved in any of those social media sites is to make sure you have your own website and your own email list. Most of them didn&#8217;t, so I talked about how you can go to the resource page at JustAskPatrick.com and click on &#8220;Patrick Recommends&#8221;. There I give you some links as to how you can get a free email list and how you can get a website and a domain name for next to nothing.</p>
<p>Probably the most time was spent on emphasizing to them how important it was to first find what they really want to do for the rest of their lives. A lot of us have jobs that we may have just fallen into after just getting out of college or high school, or some people have a job and they think, &#8220;You know what? I&#8217;m eventually going to do what I find interesting. I don&#8217;t have time to do it now, but I&#8217;m going to eventually find it.&#8221; I told them that before you ever get involved with social media, you need to figure out what you want to do and then get your ship heading in that direction. </p>
<p>People use social media to communicate a lot about their company, about their business, about what makes them different. Occasionally you&#8217;ll find someone who is really passionate about what they do and how they do it. It&#8217;s something they want to talk about from when they wake up at 6:00 in the morning until 8:00 at night. If you can find that job, if you can find that career, if you can find that kind of day and that kind of occupation, then once you decide to get into social media, people will be able to see that you believe in what you&#8217;re talking about, and your passion, your belief and your conviction will come across in social media.</p>
<p>So before you ever decide to make videos like you see me doing, or hop on Twitter, or get on a Facebook page, make sure that you&#8217;ve really figured out what it is that you want to do. Once you get that figured out it will come across in everything you do and your passion will just ooze out for people to see.</p>

<p>Anyways.</p>
<p>Here is a quick post with two simple questions you can use to measure your internet marketing efforts. They will not take long to answer. If you ever hire me to be your personal social media expert or you ever join one of my paid, industry-exclusive mastermind groups (let me know if you are interested) these two questions will be the yardstick that I use to measure how well you are doing.</p>
<p>1. Do you have a website, and 2. do you have an email list?</p>
<p>If you answer NO to either one of those questions then don&#8217;t even ask me about what you should be doing in social media. Don&#8217;t come talking to me about mobile marketing. And don&#8217;t start a discussion with me as to whether or not you should be blogging. If you don&#8217;t have both of those items answered with a YES the online marketing conversation stops before it even gets started. Those are the  the basics of any online or brick-and-mortar business. And you cannot give me any good reason why you don&#8217;t have both.</p>
<p>Fix it right now. Fix it with the links below. Fix it before you read another blog. Fix it before drinking any more coffee.</p>
<h2>Get a website right now.</h2>
<p>Get a website domain and hosting account. It will cost you less than $10 / month. Use <a href="http://GetYourWebsiteToday.com" target="_blank">Hostgator web hosting</a>. Why? Because I said so. Web hosting is a commodity. There are 10000 places you can host a website. If you don&#8217;t know anything about hosting then take my advice &#8211; because I know plenty about hosting. I&#8217;ve hosted tons of places, and I&#8217;ve run my own hosting company. <a href="http://GetYourWebsiteToday.com" target="_blank">Hostgator</a> works as good as any, and they have a very common control panel that you will see at many other hosting companies. And I don&#8217;t care what your friends tell you &#8211; don&#8217;t host at GoDaddy. They are slow and there are other reasons that they are terrible.</p>
<p>After you get your account use your new control panel to install WordPress. Why? Because I said so. If you don&#8217;t know the difference between all of the content management systems, use the one that I say is the easiest. WordPress is very common and you will have no trouble finding help on how to use it. If you get a <a href="http://GetYourWebsiteToday.com" target="_blank">Hostgator web hosting</a> account with my links in this post I&#8217;ll even install WordPress for you for free. I am just that nice. Please just get the domain, hosting account and WordPress started today. Not tomorrow. Today.</p>
<h2>Get an email list right now.</h2>
<p>Visit <a href="http://eepurl.com/gku3L" target="_blank">Mailchimp</a> right now. Sign up and use their free mailing list plan. You can stay at <a href="http://eepurl.com/gku3L" target="_blank">Mailchimp</a> and email your customers as long as you want for free as long as your list stays below 2000 people. If you do what I say and click on the word <a href="http://eepurl.com/gku3L" target="_blank">Mailchimp</a> someplace in this post you will have your own email list started before the sun goes down today.</p>
<p>That is all I have today. Please take these two steps above. They are the two important first steps you can take to stop all over your competition.</p>

<p>Hey there, its Patrick Allmond from <a target="_blank" href="http://justaskpatrick.com">justaskpatrick.com</a>. Today&#8217;s video is more of a question for the community. And I&#8217;m going to pose the same question to you that&#8217;s been posed to me recently. And that is when you see the number of followers that somebody has on Facebook, or the number of followers that somebody has on twitter, or the number of RSS readers, or the number of newsletters subscribers on someone&#8217;s website; does that make a difference, or does that affect your decision as to whether, or not to do business with that person, or to also follower that person&#8217;s Facebook page or like that person&#8217;s Facebook page or follow that person on Twitter. That&#8217;s a question that&#8217;s been asked for me a couple times and now I&#8217;m starting to wonder myself. That number or those numbers up there showing a company&#8217;s validation or an individual&#8217;s validations is called social proof. And there&#8217;s been some debate as to whether or not you should be putting social proof numbers on your website or not. For example: if you see that somebody has thousands and thousands of followers on Twitter would that make you more likely to follow that person on Twitter? I&#8217;ve been wondering myself. First of all, how that applies in real world and I think when you go to McDonalds and you go to the arches and you see billions and billions served. I don&#8217;t recall any other restaurant I see that on, but I&#8217;m just kind of curious, does that make you more likely to eat at McDonalds? Anyways, now that people have been asking me this question, I&#8217;ve been wondering that for myself. My e-mail list has a decent following as does my Facebook page and my Twitter account. So what I may start doing is on my two websites allaboutfocus.com and <a target="_blank" href="http://justaskpatrick.com">justaskpatrick.com</a> starting to share some of those numbers at the top of the banner and see if that decreases my bounce rate, which is the number of people that comes in one time and leave, and increases the number of followers, or Facebook fans, or e-mail subscribers.
