Happy Halloween Eve! Today’s song is from a character I did a few years ago named, “FrankenRhymes”.

I did a crazy voice and wrote about 8 songs for it, and it got picked up by Radio Disney, and he even had his own live show.

Dee from “So Flawless” said he had a hot and unique beat, one of his all-favorites, so I couldn’t wait to hear it.

It lived up to the hype and hits really hard! It’s got a cool “clinking” sound you’ll hear that reminded me of swords or blades clashing together.

The first verse I wrote for it was actually based around a “stab in the back” concept to tie in the blade sound, but it didn’t fit very well with the vibe of the beat, so I completely changed it up. What do I think of when I hear swords? Ninjas, of course… nympho ninjas!

Fokissed ft. Blurry – Take You There on MySpace

It’s been a long time, but I finally came through, and here’s the first new song in… I don’t know how long. I’ve been sitting on a few new ones, which will be coming soon, but this one is hot off the press as of last night, with some final tweaks this morning.

The beat came from none other than my old partner in crime, Dee (of So Flawless), who’s responsible for the beat behind “You Must Be Mistaken”.

I figured it would be fitting to come back with the same great producer I started with.

I loved this beat as soon as I heard it, because it had a really unique feel, so unique, in fact, I had to experiment with a few different vibes for the track.

It’s kind of dark and gloomy, but also kicks up and has a club vibe to it too. The first version of this song was too high energy, so we took it down a notch.

The other challenge was finding and choosing the right flow. With a fast beat like this (115bpm), there’s a ton of options. You can flow really fast, super slow, or somewhere it between.

I actually recorded two versions, one really fast and one really slow, so I could get feedback on both, and I ended up with a morphed version of the two, which changes from verse to verse and even within each one.

There probably aren’t as many people around here as there use to be, since it’s been so long since my last release, but once we get our audience built back up, then I’ll be pitching those kind of behind-the-scenes decisions to you all too, so we can work together.

I can’t believe that last post was almost a full year ago!

Looks like I definitely am a little late, but after many false starts, it’s official: I already have 5 brand new completely completed songs, and I’m finishing the 6th today.

I’m going to start rolling them out on a weekly basis this weekend.

No more delays, and I’ll try to stay ahead of the current backlog of 5-6 songs, so there will be a new song every week.

For those of you who’ve never heard of me or my music (i.e., most of you):

I’ve been making music for several years now, and I went through the standard career path for indie artists: get manager, do shows, radio play, interviews, put out album, etc.

While I always enjoyed making music, there were several aspects of the business that turned me off, so now I make indie songs for me and the people that listen to them.

It’s much more fun now, and I love interacting with fans and other artists to help any way I can.
