Monday's were fun at Jack's place and i was there most Mondays for the past 5 years, enjoying the laughs before the songs began and those that came after the songs were over for the night. Though my own songs were more on the pop side musically, my lyrics were hardly that and became sharpened, less wandering, more to the point, because of our gatherings. Jack was a pleasure to be around even when he was blowing steam about some irksome politician or situation. I became a regular attendee, making my world that much richer for all the great people i came to know and share such personal thoughts in song with. His loss is deep and wounding to me. When John Lennon died I felt the world was so much poorer. I feel that same way about Jack's loss, with the difference that Jack was my friend and it hurts even more.
