Hi Everyone;

It has been a really long time since I have posted here I have left the world of blogging due to other fashion journeys that I wanted to pursue, it really saddened me when I gave it up, and so as of recently I have decided to come back and really put the effort back to all the loyal followers by recommitting my love of blogging.
I promise not to let you down and will add a post later today on my fashion inspirations, and loves this season.

Yummy Yellow

As the weather looks up, and the feeling of fashion is always apart of me, I wanted to bring up that YELLOWS. The color yellow is beginning to be my ultimate must have.
I put this outfit together for a client and thought I would share it.

This amazing Karl Lagarfeld piece started the outfit, you all know that the biker jacket has been in for a few seasons and is becoming a staple in everyone's wardrobe, but this well constructed jacket that is available exclusively through Net-a-porter has brought the yummy yellow into high alert for the fashion conscious. This Jovanna stretch denim biker jacket @ $335 also comes in a faded grey for those who are not ready for color.
The pop of yellow will brighten up your other staple pieces that you have in your wardrobe.

I have paired the jacket with some subtle pieces that you can either find in your wardrobe, or look for them to add to your spring wardrobe.

This is a Helmut Lang's micro modal tank that is incredibly super light and because of how it falls on the body it is super comfy, and a staple for sure.

You can definitely layer this with other or add a white tank top underneath that is more fitted and pair it with a great pair of shorts to take you to the summer.

I do have to tell you this is sheer so keep that in mind to keep it fashion forward and not a fashion mess.

This tank is $80, the asymmetrical cut is a favorite of mine so I can justify the price for what it is, plus I am a big Helmut Lang fan, and find that his clothes last and always looks good.

These pants are my ultimate favorite for the season, I know all of you are all into the skinny jeans, skinny trousers, but try these tapered pants. I find that this is tapered pant is a refined version of the oh so harem pant we all fell for a few seasons ago.

These Theory Arai silk georgette trouser for $190 is super classy whether you want to wear it to the office or girls night out, these pants are versatile to add to your wardrobe.

I would have to say that it is an essential to have.

The shoes that I have paired with this outfit is for more for a casual look. I have to admit when the wedge sneaker came out I was a little taken back, and thought it was a bit K-pop star like, but after seeing the fashion possibilities with the wedge sneaker I have converted.

These wedge sneakers are Giuseppe Zanotti @ $725 Wedge sneakers is a fashion must-have, and I love Giuseppe Zanotti's bright leather and suede pair for a high-impact take on the trend.

To take this Yummy Yellow to the the max I have chosen pieces to enhance the amazing jacket.

Fashion Inspiration 2

Each day I see different things, but also do various things that are truly part of fashion, my daily inspiration comes through my work, I can share what I see, and do.

I love the season of color, which comes seems to be a strong fashion influence in the Spring and Summer, and with the choices of colored denim throughout all sorts of stores, the presentation is the key for your eye appeal to want to purchase all the colors out there.

To find the look that best suits you make sure the color enhances your skin tone, and body style; don't just do a color just because everyone else is doing so make sure it looks and feels good too.

Windows are a true passion of mine, and when you get the message across by showing amazing styling, and color what represents the season is always a fashion feat!!

This window is from a year back from passing by Bergdorf Goodman, but I truly love the simplistic modern way that is represented by the Shlappie mannies!

and having Prada, and Lanvin on them doesn't hurt as well!

I love a great accessory table, and when you find a presentation filled like a feast table, it is alway a way to truly find great statement pieces to add to your fashion wardrobe!

So next time you go out shopping, look around and see how the presentation is presented to you for you to shop!

Jump into a ParaJumpers Jacket

It is that time of year again and when the weather becomes cold I find that I want to spend the extra money finding a warm and proper jacket to keep me toasty.
In the past I have been known to fall for the Moncler but this year I am totally crushing on the Parajumpers jackets.

I am wanting the Kodiak coat, has unique features. The down coat in black has a fur-trimmed drawcord hood with exposed zip gusset and logo hardware. Button and concealed zip front closure. Canvas trim at placket. Velcro flap pocket, wraparound zip pocket and press stud flap pockets at bust. Press stud flap pockets at waist. Slit detail at back. Zip gussets at sides. Tonal
leather trim. Velcro logo patch at sleeve. Patches at elbows.

This jacket is quit pricey @ $975, but with all the sales around, and if you are willing to hold out a little longer the sales will come, I checked online and found it at a 20% discount so I know it is well worth that.

Wen product review

Fashion Forward Journal is doing a review with the product Wen from Chaz Dean; and when you watch the informercial you are completely drawn in with the fabulous outcome of how the hair is treated.

I have to say that the product is worth the money, and works wonders but you have to use the product correctly.

I have read some bad complaints, and reviews but people haven't been using the product correctly.

You have to know that it isn't a shampoo that lathers, it is a cleansing system that restores your hair with all the right oils that other products stripe away.

After getting the product and using it a few weeks, I too have had mixed feelings about the whole Wen hair care phenomenon, at first I found it that I was getting greasy head, and it didn't look or feel like the girls on the informercial; and so I decided to go on You tube and the Wen hair care website to really understand how others use the product.

I found that I was rinsing too fast, and not massaging the product thoroughly through the scalp created the greasy head look.

You really need to take the time with this product, and the more that you use, the better the results, and you will find changes happening to your hair.

The bigger package deal is around $90 for a 3 month supply and honestly it is worth it.

So for all those of you who found you didn't like Wen hair care from Chaz Dean I challenge you to try it again and do it correctly.

Red Riding

The punch of color to add to your wardrobe is always an expression when it comes to style.
I have had the great pleasure of meeting a new client Emile she wanted to start building her wardrobe for fall. I always say it is always never to early to start building for a fall wardrobe.

Emile's regular style is very conservative she wears suiting on a regular basis, so I took her to the casual weekend wear; we found the perfect pair of skinny jeans from Citizens of Humanity that extra stretch is always nice to have in denim. To pull of the great look I always recommend a tall boot for the fall and winter months and these stunning beauties are from Alexander McQueen.

Throughout this whole process Emile was never afraid to tell me what she did like and what she didn't so the process of editing certain pieces were easy. I pulled out the reds within the accessories to make sure that her expressions were met with her eclectic personality.

Using a shirt dress as a top is being bold and is timeless because of the sleeves you can always add a long sleeve shirt underneath, but in this case we decided to get a great camel cardi with a belt, this is always a staple in your wardrobe whether you wanted to do it with just leggings and the boots you will find that this Vince cardi will do the trick.

All the little extras are just the topping on the cake so the one thing I had to get Emile get was the fantastic ring from YSL it has been a huge contender for the last few seasons so take it from me you might as well find your style by building your wardrobe.

Finally do add the look of red riding was the scarf from Alexander McQueen which is timeless, and the clutch from Marc by Marc Jacobs although we carried off this look casual adding a bit of dressy with a clutch can add that fashion dimension.

I love the Maxi dress, and it is definitely a Fashion Forward Journal favorite; but just because it is a long romper doesn't mean it is for everyone. Ladies know the limits of where to say no to a maxi dress or how you can make the maxi work.

Here are my favorites and I will share the rules of it all and also some style tips of what you can do with a great Maxi.

I do believe that you need some height to pull off the halter dress, it really depends but if you are a petite frame you can do the maxi but you might have to adjust the length by getting it altered; but make sure it fits your frame because it can swallow you whole.

Most maxi dresses are sleeveless, and although I am a believer that you should have nice arms to pull it off there are great covers like shrugs, petite cardis, and boleros that can solve that issue.

If you do the shirt dress maxis which is one of FFJ's picks; make sure you add the right balance of accessories a thick belt, gladiator sandals, and a big hobo.

Ladies do everyone a favor, find the right size maxi dress that fits your body, I mean look at your self through a 360 degree mirror, or get a trust worthy friend to tell you the truth. I have seen so many girls pulling the wrong look from behind thinking they look hot and amazing in the fron,t and just because you are doing a full comfortable maxi makes you think the butt doesn't matter, well YOU ARE WRONG! when the world can view panty lines, butt cracks, and places that only you or only your significant other should see then you are pulling the wrong size and look; DO us all a favor and find the right size.

So don't get Max-ied out by choosing the wrong look for your summer style; find what you fall in love with but make sure it loves you back.

Another day in the city for inspiration and the one designer in the last year that has continuously shown whimsical designs with such fantasy is Alber Elbaz. When the fall collection started to roll in to Bergdorf Goodman; and they featured the mannequins with such styling this outfit hit the mark.

I wanted to share with you the fantastic look especially the incredible accessories.

Art-Deco Cocktail

I recently got a call from Lyndsey again, and she is going to Paris for the week for work and wanted to have a dress for a dinner that she will be attending. Lyndsey's is very aware of what style she wants, and she always wants to look the part, but also be different.

This sharp amethyst color purple silk dress from Derek Lam is purely delish on; and is super comfortable but ultra sexy. I decided to pair this dress with a blunt anklet Python booties from Mr. Loubie himself, and then added the creative flair of art deco with the necklace from Missoni.

My suggestions with the eyes, and the blush was strong from Nars, but tailed back with the nude lip color with a great gloss from Bobby Brown.
Lyndsey knows how to play to color in specs, if the color is bold she is know aware to tail back on certain areas. This seasons hottest trend of color blocking has been everywhere, you will find that I pulled back in the outfit by just adding one color, and the bold colors through the necklace to add that punch.
You can definitely do a great strappy sandal but I like the bold nature of the bootie, and so take it to the next level when you are going to go for dinner, or an event and stand out by collectively adding the right color and pieces.

Hey Everyone! a few months ago I received and an email introducing me to a line that I found exciting this Fashion Forward Journal pick has been created by Stacy Igel.
I had the pleasure of getting the scoop from the creator of Boy Meets Girl® and thought I would share this amazing line with all of you.

1. Who is Stacy Igel?
Abby Gardner of Fashionista.com, Glo.com & currently site Director of MarieClaire.com describes Stacy Igel as “a force of nature and one whose talent and drive I admire tremendously. What I love so much about Stacy is that, despite all her success, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty – in the course of a single day she’ll take on the role of accountant, salesgirl, PR guru, merchandiser, company psychiatrist and -- of course -- designer. That's how much she believes in her work. Basically, Stacy is the Boy Meets Girl® brand all rolled up into one dynamic little package.”

2. How did the concept for Boy Meets Girl start? The first time I met my husband’s parents was for dinner at their apartment. While they were giving me the tour, I noticed a picture frame containing silhouettes of their three children from when they were younger. My parents had a similar picture of my sister and I from when we were about the same age. I thought about us and how we still both had these young, playful, carefree versions of ourselves inside of us and I knew right then and there my brand would be called Boy Meets Girl® and that I’d use our silhouettes for the logo. The logo driven product came first and we have been growing the collection organically from there.
3. Where do you find your inspiration? I draw inspiration from a variety of eclectic influences: vintage clothing, the vibrant New York art and music scenes, Hollywood glamourati. As far as business mentors/role models goes, there’s Ellie Tahari, Donna Karen, Zandra Rhodes and Elsa Klensch, all of whom I’ve worked for and all of whom were hard workers in there own right even after they’d “made it.” That was an eye opener for me. I was smart enough to recognize that the hard workers were usually the individuals who got the big opportunities in life. They were also the ones who were prepared to capitalize on those opportunities.
Stylistically, I’m going to give you my holy trinity of influences. First,
Coco Chanel, who famously said “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses
only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the
way we live, what is happening.” I agree. I think that’s why I am so happy
working as hard as I do. Second, Kate Moss. Of course she’s a
beautiful and confident woman, but what I love about her is the way she
effortlessly transitions from eclectic vintage to high fashion. She never
looks like she’s trying to put an outfit together – everything looks like it
just naturally belongs on her body. Third, Patti Smith. She’s
stayed true to her edgy stylishness since the 70s. She’s unflappable.

4. What would you like the Fashion Forward Journal readers to know about you?

Of course, retail is crucial to our success and we want to continue to have a strong presence in key boutiques and department stores. Obviously, we feel very strongly that we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface. There are so many areas for us to expand - whether its new product categories, licensing and collaborations or building our presence abroad. Not that we’re in a rush. We’re going to grow organically and intelligently.

8. What did you feel when you featured your collection at New York Fashion week (for Spring/Summer 2011? answered it for this b/c this will be what is selling on my new ecommerce site))?
It was a whirlwind. Because I had just moved into my new offices with my new partners, we had decided not to do a show for [this/that] season. However, I got a call from my friend Claudine Gumbel at Think PR who had told me that she had been speaking with Starbucks and that she thought I should partner with them for a fashion week show with her and Style360. This call came in literally the day after I moved in to the new offices. We had about a month to prepare for this show - put the line together, get samples made, find additional sponsorship, cast models, style the show, generate press, send invitations, make a seating chart, etc. It was a lot of late nights, but thanks to my incredibly dedicated team, we made it happen. It was really a character building experience for all of us and it was well worth it in the end. We had an incredible show and we’re continuing to build off of the momentum generated at that show. It really was a dream come true. Can’t wait to do it again next season with a bit more time!

9. With this seasons inspirations of the Intrepid traveler what is your ultimate favorite piece from the collection? I love everything about jumpers. Of course I would have to choose the Boy Meets Girl® Missing Pieces Jumper (www.boymeetsgirlusa.com) . They are so versatile; you can pair them with platforms in the spring or tights in the winter! This specific jumper is extremely comfortable, and unique with its cutout details on the shoulders.
10. What is the most exciting experience so far with Boy Meets Girl? Wow, that’s a tough one. There have been so many amazing moments. I always get a kick out of seeing someone walk down the street wearing BMG. Even now, from time to time, I’ll stop them on the street and tell them who I am... or I’ll call my mom and tell her I saw some cute girl rocking my line while getting a coffee or at a concert or something. So yeah, I’ll admit that seeing a cute, happy girl out on the town wearing my clothes is life-affirming!
I also am so grateful I am able to give back through my brand. Working with several charities to raise awareness in collaboration with Boy Meets Girl® and me brings smiles all around.

Day Shift

Hello Everyone it is me Marni; who wanted to show the outfit of the day I love love the Day dresses this season, and this shift dress is simply me!!! This flattering number with the fern print is so Jackie O and with the Chloé Python Handbag and the sunnies surely brought the vintage in me today!

I did do some shoe options with the black platform pumps, but having the comfort level of wedgies is always great way to make this dress casual for that Sunday afternoon.

I have fun with great earrings that are from Ippolita and they do frame the face and add that extra elegance with the dress.
Look and feel amazing with pieces that fit your body, and create the style of elegance.

Well I will continue to share looks that I love, and now that I am taking over the styling efforts from Fashion Forward Journal I am looking forward in meeting and excelling in the world of fashion.

It was a great day to see Lace play into a stunning look; A new client Kelsey wanted something new to wear for an evening wedding happening next Sunday and asked for lace.
I played off that with a fabulous skirt from 3.1 Phillip Lim and that was the starting point, this skirt is so feminine, and fits to size and is stunning on.
I decided to continue with the feminine feel and found a great silk a one shoulder rosette top from Tibi, we definitely tucked in the shirt and added a belt for some dimension, but you don't have to do so if you don't want to.
The accessories are bold and different which in this case fit the client Kelsey, always have choices whether or not you are comfortable with jewelry or bold pieces, you will find what is best for your look. Kelsey as a client was truly a joy to work with and style. This event she wanted to elevate her feminine look which I am glad we have achieved.

Kelsey is a makeup artist so I decided not to suggest makeup considering she has a beautiful kit to work with and knows what look would work best with this outfit.
Carrying out the trends, but making it your own is what make finding pieces so exciting once you develop or find your style.

Chloé Loves Japan!

We still need to help support the natural disaster that has crippled Japan; Even though they are rebuilding daily any support that can happen is simply a blessing for all.

As an act of solidarity towards Japan and its inhabitants who have suffered from the catastrophic events of March 11th, Chloé have rallied and created an exclusive “Chloe loves Japan” t-shirt.

This t-shirt, intended as a strong support statement, will be available worldwide with all proceeds to be donated to the Red Cross in order to help it in its mission of providing support to the Japanese population.

The t-shirt is available at most Chloé boutiques worldwide.

The t-shirt is $100 and remember All proceeds are donated to the Red Cross.

Every so often I take the time and visit the windows of one of my favorite stores in NYC Bergdorf Goodman to get inspiration, but not only do you get inspiration through these windows you also have a sense of sadness.

I cannot believe that it has been over a year since the loss of a brilliant mind like Alexander McQueen.
