The Point feels we have all been rather hard on poor Malemamunchkin. Really, it's a little like baiting a baby or teasing a toddler. Except, of course, that these days most toddlers can figure out how to turn on a computer.

And then there are his friends. Can we really blame young Juju for the fact that Floyd never figured out how to use that book with all the wordy things in it (in Pedi or any other language)? I, for one, think
that the word "cretation" enriches the English language. I have already used it today. Twice.

When faced with insolent technology: "Argh! This cretation is a piece of (expletive deleted)!"
Somewhere in between filling out countless irrelevant forms at MTN and being 'escorted' out of the building: "Cretations! All of you! You hear me? C-R-E-T-A-T-I-O-N-S!"

Floyd the Maverick.

And yet, despite the enviable company he keeps, I still feel a little sorry for the Munchkin, which is why I plan to balance this week's snide comments with soothing lullabies. I may have tried to sneak in a syllable or three. Here's one to get us started:

Rock-a-bye Juju, on the internet,
When the tweets flow, the cradle gets wet,
When the taunts start, the cradle will fall,
And down will come Juju, Shivambu and all.

It would seem that the ANC's kiddies club has also been baffled by technology this week. Floyd, clearly not quite understanding how the interwebs work (or, for that matter, what a hacker is), has lashed out at all the online Juju-haters.

"There are computer hackers who have created twitter accounts in the name of the President [the prince-ling not HRH Msholozi] and recurrently posting misleading messages [sic]."

Hmm… perhaps he meant hacks. You know, those online bottom-feeders like… erm… me. Or – and let's face it, this is the more likely scenario – perhaps Floyd is to computers what Malema is to a block of wood. Proving that they are also clueless about the size of the world and the relative sway that they hold, the pipsqueaks threatened to bring about the fall of the Twitter Empire. Think David and Goliath. Except David was clever.

"The ANCYL has in [sic] more than one occasion reported these impersonators and hackers, yet no action has been taken against them by the Twitter administrators. [What? Bloody agents!] We will now approach the relevant authorities to report these hackers and call for the closer [Closure, perhaps? Or do you really want Twitter closer?] of Twitter, if its administrators are not able to administer reports for violation of basic human rights and integrity."

Ah yes, because it worked so well when you tried to shut down Nando's. And Nedbank. And the Zillenator.

The itsy-bitsy Juju,
Got too much political clout,
Down came Motlanthe,
And washed Juju's mouth out,
Out came the youth league,
And dished out all the blame,
And the itsy-bitsy Juju,
Ate up all the fame.

Few things please The Point more than an insult gone awry. Particularly when that insult originates deep down in the well-padded gut of the country's Chief Bully.

"You have put the cockroach in Cabinet. People of the Western Cape, we are asking you to bring Doom to remove this cockroach… And Doom means voting for the ANC."

Or, to word that slightly differently, voting for the ANC means Doom.

Kgalema Motlanthe – driven, perhaps, by embarrassment at the youth leader's apparent inability to extend a metaphor – chastised the prince-ling in Parliament.

"We must put our points across without trying to demean each other. And I think the fact that the gentleman you alluded to [that would be Juju] referred to a good lady, like she's a cockroach, I think it's a bad thing myself. I think it's downright simple bad manners."

Simple. Bad manners. Julius? Never!

Of course, a little tongue-lashing never did deter the kiddies club. Their retort on discovering that angry threats were followed by even more online mocking was… well… predictable.

"We'll trace them… that is very possible to do," said the guy who couldn't seem to understand that an email address is all it takes to set up a Twitter account. "We don't want to expose our strategy on how we will get them [largely because we haven't figured it out yet]. But we will get them and we are going to report them to the police."

Ah, yes, because that worked so well with PigSpotter.

Followed by the obligatory racism: "We are sure, when they get exposed, you will see it is white people. Reactionary, rightwing, white people."

Floyd sees white people. It's a sixth sense. It goes without saying that they are all rightwing racists. Unfortunately it prevents him from seeing all those intelligent black folk who also like to use computers and laugh at antics of bumbling idiots.

Malema again ignores the law ....

ANC Youth League president Julius Malema now has until Monday to pay the R50 000 fine ordered by the Equality Court, a spokesperson for the group that took Malema to court said on Friday.

Mbuyiselo Botha, of the Sonke Gender Justice Network, said the sheriff of the court had indicated that a planned seizure of Malema assets would not take place on Friday.

"Our lawyers, together with the sheriff, have decided that they will only be able to execute it on Monday morning," he said.

"That will give them a chance until Monday if they want to pay the fine, or apologise."

Malema was found guilty of hate speech and harassment by the court in March over comments he made about President Jacob Zuma's rape accuser.

He was fined R50 000 to be paid to a women's rights organisation within a month and ordered
to apologise publicly within two weeks of the ruling.

He lodged an appeal against the order but the time period in which the appeal had to be "prosecuted" lapsed on July 14, said Sonke.

"While under oath, Malema said he would abide by any ruling given by the Equality Court. As the time for appealing has passed, Malema now needs to make good on the ruling and his word," said Botha.

He said a writ of execution had been issued by the sheriff for attachment of R50 000 worth of Malema's property.

Sonke was prepared to take further action if he failed to apologise.

Youth League spokesperson Floyd Shivambu referred Sapa to Malema's lawyer, who was not immediately available for comment.

Sonke took Malema to court after he said, with reference to Zuma's rape accuser, that "you don't ask for taxi money from somebody who raped you".

Zuma was acquitted.

During the hearing, Malema called Sonke "Mickey Mouses" funded by white people.

Johannesburg - bodyguards police assigned to the President of the Youth League NAC Julius Malemba were removed to a new threat assessment, police spokesman Col. Vishnu Naidoo said Wednesday.

"First of all a threat assessment was conducted and it justified protection.Qui provision is under review, and it is clear that the protection should be removed, said Naidoo.".
Malemba Office was informed on October 6, Naidoo said.
He wouldn't details of how expensive bodyguards to taxpayers, saying it would give an indication of the level of protection, a person has been assigned.
He said "even you" can claim protection if you think that it is necessary, in response to a question on the question of whether Malemba had the right of the bodyguards.
In November last police department spokesman Zweli Mnisi said the guards had been assigned to Malemba but also would not say what was the threat.
"Wrote us a letter saying that his life was danger.Notre intelligence then studied and passed the recommendations of the Commissioner of police crime, he said at the time."
"Based on these findings, VIP protection was then decided on," said Mnisi.
Succession battle grounds
Pressure group AfriForum wrote to the national Commissioner of police asking the threat was and said that it was cost the taxpayer R300 000 per month.

Malemba entertained alternately and furious with his public statements, some have led to lawsuits against him.
A spokesman for the League was not immediately available for comment or was spokesman of the Minister of police Nathi us after a suggestion in the move may be linked to the ANC succession battle star.
Theory, according to insiders to NCAS unnamed, was that it must be considered in the context of the battle of the succession of the party and Deputy Minister of the great ally of the Malemba Fikile Mbalula police being at odds with the US and the Commissioner of the national police Bheki Cele.

ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has until Monday to respond to the SA Human Rights Commission regarding a complaint laid against him by the Afrikanerbond, the organisation said on Friday.

"The Human Rights Commission has confirmed that Mr Malema, despite several requests by the Human Rights Commission, did not respond," chief secretary Jan Bosman said in a statement.
"The case was referred to Mr Malema's attorneys with a request to respond by Monday 13 September 2010."

The complaint stems from the ejection of a BBC journalist from a ANCYL press conference, earlier this year.
The Afrikanerbond
also complained that the commission had done nothing about approximately 500 complaints that were lodged following Malema's "shoot the boer" statements.
"It seems that in a society that is supposed to be equal, the Human Rights Commission regards the rights of some individuals more equal than those of others."

Friday's statement also hit out at Malema for comments he made on land restitution, at a press conference on Thursday, during which he complained about the need for negotiations with land owners during planned restitution processes.

I believe Malema's only interest is in becoming President as soon as possible. he uses the ANCYL as a platform to promote his political ambitions. Comments such as these are poularist as is his defiance of any form of criticism from the white right. ..... What do you think?
