The cook can make the dough from rice, beans, lentils, potatoes, or other common grain flour.

Masala dosa started with the Ancient Tamil region of Southern India in 300 BC. Masala dosa was developed during the 15th century. There are two types of dosa in Tamil Nadu: the first and second types. The first type of dosa consists of rice-flour batter, usually deep-fried and seasoned with curries. The second type of dosa is usually cooked on the floor in one or two pan pans. However, the fried dosa will normally only be cooked by a household help and in a kadhai or a banana leaf, the dosa is normally not served to the public. In the southern region, these dosa are usually called tiffin, and the batter is made of rice flour, curd, and jaggery.

Recipes of the South Indian style of making dosa are traced to around the 3rd century, suggesting that it may be more than 2,500 years old.

Dosa is described in the romantic folk epic Mahabharata. It is also the subject of the hymn "Dosa".

Instructions

1. Follow these steps to make a batter for masala dosa. Make a regular dosa batter and divide it into four equal portions.

2. Make a thick batter by adding more water or flours and make four thin batter portions. Add a tablespoon of green chili and salt to each batter portion and mix well.

3. When you are making a large portion of batter for the masala dosa, cook each portion individually. Before you put them in the pan, check the oil and water levels and adjust them accordingly. When you put in the dosa batter, leave space between the dosa so that they will all come out easily when the pan is full of steam.

4. Heat a non-stick pan over a medium flame and add about half a teaspoon of oil and heat until it is hot but not smoking. Gently add the batter with a spoonful at a time, being careful not to cook it completely.

5. Cook each portion for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden and cooked through. To keep them from drying out, cover the pan after you have taken out a portion of the dosa to let it continue cooking. Cook until each portion is ready.

Health Benefits Of Mysore Masala Dosa

Mysore masala dosa is a healthy snack that promotes good digestion and regulates blood sugar. As soon as you pour the Batter, put some Masala paste in the center and spread it across the Dosa. Pour Oil along the edges of the Dosa and add a blob of butter in the center. Let the Dosa roast to a crispy finish without touching it with a flat ladle. Do not remove the Dosa until it is well roasted. Once it is roasted crisp, set the Potato Curry in the middle, fold the Dosa and then remove it from the pan and serve.

FAQ

Can you make a standard masala dosa at home?

Yes, you can make a masala dosa at home. The recipe calls for chickpea flour or besan. This is the same flour that is available in the bulk section of the supermarket.

Can you make thick masala dosa?

Yes. The thicker the batter, the more likely it is that it will stick to the dosa maker. If the batter is too thin, it will not spread evenly when it goes into the pan. As always, if you are making the batter from scratch, add more water or flours and test until it forms the right consistency. You can do this by making some dough balls and rolling them out before you use them in the dosa maker.

Who invented dosa?

People started making dosa in the 8th century BC, which started from Andhra, Kannada, and Telugu speaking areas. In the later period, the northeast was also included in the dosa recipes.

Dosa originated in Kerala.

Where is it serve ?

In India, dosa is very popular in the south of the country and some states in North India. Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Maharashtra are some of the best-known dosa-making states.

What does Dosa taste like?

If you've been to an Indian restaurant, you probably know what Dosa is. The little crispy crepes are stuffed with anything from spinach to potatoes, peas, chives, tomatoes and so much more.

You May Like This Recipes :

> Kaju Mushroom Masala

> Panner Butter Masala

> Pav Bhaji

> Dhai Bhalla

> Kadai Panner

How to make Kadai Paneer Recipe |Homemade Kadai Paneer Recipe

How to make Kadai Paneer Recipe |Homemade Kadai Paneer Recipe

Contents :

° Recipe Card For Kadai Panner

° How To Make Kadai Paneer

° FAQ

In the early 20th century, when Mumbai's Indian Jewish community, known as the Bene Israel, first started trading in spices from Gujarat, it brought along their Gujarati cuisine too. The Jewish community and its traders started serving parathas, dosas, kachoris, jalebis, puris, and even homemade Kadai paneer to the city's elite. One of the most popular dishes that the community served was the Gujarati Kadai paneer. The dish uses paneer, or cottage cheese, and is flavored with a blend of mustard, garlic, onion, red chilies, dried and fresh coriander, cumin, green chilies, and red wine, baked in a banana leaf.

According to the Baroda Heritage Society, Kadai paneer was sold by members of the Jewish community as a substitute for cheese at their eateries. Kicking off around the year 1880, it slowly came to be popularised by famous Muslim and Parsi Gujarati restaurants in the city.

As popularised by Kadai paneer dishes, Parsi Gujarati was the first sub-caste of Gujarat who migrated to the city in the 16th century from Surat, as per historians. Most of them came to be known as Old Paris, and eventually, the community was made up of people who hailed from a clan of Zoroastrian merchants.

Recipe Card For Kadai Panner

Preparation Time : 10 mins

Cooking Time : 40 mins

Total Time : 50 mins

Servings : 3 Servings

Ingredients Of Kadai Paneer

200gm Boiled calf feet, 200gm Flank, skinned and boned

2 Lbs Ghee

1 Onion, finely chopped

½ Cup Chilli powder

2 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped

3 green chilies, chopped

1tbsp Dried red chili

5 Kg Corn

2 tsp Salt

½ tsp Red chili powder

1 cup Curd

½ cup Plain Yogurt

For Ghee

1 Medium Onion Ginger

garlic cumin

green chili

red chili

salt

1 tsp oil½

tsp grated ginger

chili powder

1 tsp red chili powder

How To Make Kadai Paneer:

* Fry Onion, Corn, Curd, and Red chili powder in a pan. These calcium-rich foods will keep you healthy, without impacting your waistline. Some people are allergic to yogurt, but it is still a good source of protein. The best thing about paneer is that it is a great source of calcium and protein.

Are there any benefits of eating paneer over regular cheese?

Paneer is rich in protein and calcium, and it is low in fat. It is also a good source of many other nutrients. It is more easily digested than cheese, and so is easy to digest and keeps your tummy feeling full. The fat present in paneer makes it very satiating. It also makes paneer a great option for low-calorie diets. Some people, however, are allergic to cheese, and so paneer is a good substitute in these cases.

How can you consume paneer?

It is easily available and can be purchased from all major supermarkets, gourmet or traditional stores. It is also available in many curries, sabzi, or snack recipes. Like, ghee, curd, yogurt and paneer empanadas, paneer paratha, paneer pizza, paneer soup, paneer masala, paneer kebabs, paneer in curry, paneer kadhi, paneer is considered as a healthy alternative to paratha and naan.

Are paneer cheeses harmful ?

Paneer is not harmful but shouldn't be consumed for the long term. Consumption of too much of it can lead to the growth of blood vessels in the stomach that can result in high blood pressure or damage to the kidneys. However, healthy people with a normal GI can consume it on daily basis.

Varieties of Paneer ?

The versatility of paneer makes it a difficult nut to crack. To answer this, we will first define what paneer is and then take a look at the available various kinds and all the different uses they have.

Paneer is a fresh curd derived from cow milk and is a solid block of curds. It has a sour taste and it is very soft. This curd is a major source of proteins (especially the A1 and A2), omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, phosphorous, and calcium in our diet.

The most common varieties of paneer available in the market are:

Fresh cottage cheese

Cashew paneer

Ghee paneer

Fresh paneer in curd form

Fresh paneer cooked in vegetable gravy

Paneer in curd form

What are the disadvantages of paneer?

It is a low-protein vegetarian product that is low in vital nutrients like proteins, iron, vitamin B12, folate, calcium, zinc, phosphorus, etc.

It is a very high-fat product, with about 11 grams of fat per 100 grams of cooked paneer.

Paneer is processed from grass-fed animals. Low-quality paneer contains carcinogenic content, such as acrylamide.

Raw paneer that is used in baking and may be contaminated with microbial content and can cause food poisoning.

Traditionally paneer is stored in huge cold conditions. It does not react well to the aging process and molds quickly.

Paneer contains cows’ milk which contains trace amounts of antibiotics and growth hormones.

Is panner is healthier than Cheese?

Yes, Definitely. Panner works as well as cheese, the only difference is it's not as easy to get at for being healthier. But I think that the main reason panner is healthier is that it is not saturated in fat as the rest of the foods.

Does paneer gain weight?

Yes, but this isn't something to be worried about as paneer's weight hardly differs from the usual dairy products. However, if you want to maintain the usual weight of paneer you can reduce its fat content by reducing the quantity and adding essential nutrients like vitamin D, choline, and K2 to it.

Is panner good for the skin?

So, what does panner do for your skin? Well, it'll moisturize, soothe and protect it from the sun, it is anti-inflammatory and there are lots of different variations on the ingredients list, such as rose, shea, apricot, and neem

You May Like This Recipes :

> Kaju Mushroom Masala

> Panner Butter Masala

> Pav Bhaji

> Dhai Bhalla

How to make Kaju Mushroom Masala Recipe | Kaju Mushroom Masala

How to make Kaju Mushroom Masala Recipe | Kaju Mushroom Masala

Content:

1. Also, if you want to increase the flavor of the mushrooms, you can add the red chilies and grated raw ginger at this stage, instead of adding these only when it is time to cook the curry.

• Add more water if the Kaju chunks turn soggy.

• You can serve Kaju mushrooms with parathas, roti, bread, or simply with dal

• Add rice or roti with the Kaju and it will take on a different taste.

• I use frozen Kaju and am happy with the results.

• Paneer powder or fresh paste is optional. It depends upon your taste preference.

• Kaju mushroom masala can be enjoyed in one sitting.

• It can be stored in the fridge for two days.

• Try a mouthful of this delicacy and let me know what you think.

You May Like This Recipes

• PANNER BUTTER MASALA RECIPE

• DAHI BHALLA RECIPE

• PAV BHAJI RECIPE

• TOMATO MINT CHUTNEY RECIPE

Paneer Butter Masala | How to make Paneer Butter Masala Recipe

Paneer Butter Masala | How to make Paneer Butter Masala Recipe

Paneer is a dairy product made from the hind legs and neck of a calf, but this is not always the case.

Some paneer may be made from cow's milk, but in India, the best-known paneer is made from goats' milk. Treating paneer with vitamin B and D at regular intervals can keep the calcium levels healthy.

3. Preventing osteoporosis in women by eating paneer, is not supported by any study.

4. Paneer can be made of either fresh or frozen milk.

5. Raw paneer is higher in iron and iodine content, but both are lost when it is made into paneer.

6.Paneer is low in saturated fat and can lower cholesterol.

7. Paneer is a high source of protein, which helps to add bulk to a diet.

8. Once you try it, you will never look at paneer the same way again.

9. Thaw the frozen blocks in your fridge overnight and then pulse them in the food processor until they form a paste.

Paneer Butter Masala Recipe Card

PREPARATION TIME : 5 mins

COOKING TIME : 20 mins
 TOTAL TIME : 25 min
SERVING : 4

INGREDIENTS

200 gms Paneer

5 Tomatoes

1 Onion

1/4 cup Cashew Nuts

1 Inch Cinnamon Stick

2 Cardamoms

2 Cloves

1/2 Ginger Piece

4 Garlic Cloves

1/2 tsp Crushed Kasuri Methi (dried Fenugreek leaves)

3/4 tsp Coriander Powder

3/4 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder

1 tsp Sugar

4 tbsps Butter

Salt

2 tsps Kashmir Mirchi Powder

1 tbsp Oil

1/2 cup Fresh Cream (Milk Cream)

2 tsps Fresh Green Coriander

300 ml Water for Gravy

1/2 ltr Water to cook Tomatoes

How to Prepare Paneer Butter Masala?

1. Low-quality paneer contains carcinogenic content, such as acrylamide.

Raw paneer that is used in baking and may be contaminated with microbial content and can cause food poisoning.

Traditionally paneer is stored in huge cold conditions. It does not react well to the aging process and moulds quickly.

Paneer contains cows’ milk which contain trace amounts of antibiotics and growth hormones.

Is panner is healthier than Cheese ?

Yes, Definitely. Panner works as good as cheese, the only difference is its not as easy to get at for being healthier. But i think that the main reason panner is healthier is because it is not saturated in fat as the rest of the foods.

Does paneer gain weight?

Yes, but this isn't something to be worried about as paneer's weight hardly differs from the usual dairy products. However, if you want to maintain the usual weight of paneer you can reduce its fat content by reducing the quantity and adding essential nutrients like vitamin D, choline and K2 to it.

Is panner good for skin

So, what does panner actually do for your skin? Well, it'll moisturise, soothe and protect it from the sun, it is anti-inflammatory and there are lots of different variations on the ingredients list, such as rose, shea, apricot and neem

You May Like This Recipes

DHAI BHALLA RECIPE

PAV BHAJI RECIPE

TOMATO PUDINA CHUTNEY RECIPE

However, the Mughals who ruled Delhi as well as Uttar Pradesh for more than a thousand years claim that the recipe was handed down to them by King Kalidasa himself. The king was said to have popularised the recipe among the masses.

It is believed that the 'Dahi Bhalla' was later made in parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, and even abroad.

The importance of this idli-dosa-dal combo and its importance in the Maharashtrian diet can be gauged from the fact that during September or in English, Dahi Bhalla Month is celebrated.

A traditional Gujarati dish, Dahi Bhalla has a very rich, creamy, full-bodied flavor. Every aspect of this dish was carefully crafted to bring out the best of each ingredient. Since Dahi Bhalla is traditionally made with ghee, this dish has a healthy note that makes it even more beneficial.

Dahi Bhalla Recipe

Preparation Time: 5 hrs

Cooking Time: 30 mins

Total Time: 5 hrs 30 mins

Cuisine : North Indian, Punjabi

Course: Snacks, Starters

Ingredients:

1 cup (200 ml) full-fat ghee or butter

1 cup (200 ml) whole milk

1 tsp cardamom powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp dry ginger powder

10-15 sliced onions

1 red chilli

2 tsp cilantro

1/4 tsp garam masala

To taste – Salt and Pepper

Instructions:

1. Heat the ghee and bring it to a boil.

2. Once the ghee starts to boil, add the salt and cumin powder and mix well.

3. Now add the milk in a ladle, and boil it for 30 seconds.

4. Lower the heat and pour in the milk slowly.

5. Mix well.

6. Add the dry spices and stir well.

7. Continue to boil and stir for a minute.

8. Let it rest for a few minutes and then serve.

The Dahi Bhalla Recipe Recipe is a delicious breakfast option that you can enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. If you like adding a dash of sweetness to your diet, this is a perfect dish to try.

Tips to ensure the Bhallas are soft:

The Bhallas are softer if the Black Gram is ground in a grinder than in a mixie.

I have done a short cut of this recipe. Which is to say that I have added the Black Gram to the Mixie and added cooking soda and beat it well. You can get soft Bhallas like this too. But those who do not like to use Cooking Soda should grind the Gram and then beat it for 5-6 minutes. Then the Bhallas are soft and hollow.

How to make Dahi Bhalla step by step:

1. Its origins are in the state of Maharashtra

Pav Bhaji is an Indian Fast Food dish born in Mumbai. There is an interesting story to its origin. Around 1850, in the Mumbai textile factories, the workers needed a quick-to-eat but wholesome food, given the time and work constraints in the industrial belt.

Thus was born this hot and wholesome recipe in a small hut. And it became the most preferred snack for the workers. And then it was elevated to being a Special dish for the Mill Owners and then a delicacy in their weddings. The Pav Bhaji of humble beginnings continued its journey into Five-Star Hotels. But the, whatever the elaborate frills that surround the serving of the Pav Bhaji in a big hotel, it is still the Pav Bhaji sold by the roadside that people crave and relish.

Though Pav Bhaji was born in Mumbai, it has fans across the land and they have modified the spices to suit their own palate and cuisine. Whatever the modifications, it is a killer dish. Or even do away with them totally. Just ensure that the raw taste is removed. Even the green chillies should be fried only till they lose their rawness. The Chutney tastes better if the chillies are spicy.

• The Chutney should not be ground too much, into a paste.

• Do not use curry leaves in the seasoning. It dominates the flavour of the Mint.

Tomatoes:

• The country tomatoes are sourer and taste better. If you are using hybrid tomatoes, add some tamarind.

• Tomatoes should not be cooked too much until they lose all their juice and become dry. That takes away from the taste of the Chutney. They should just become soft until the skin comes off, but the juice is still in.

Mint :

• Take just a handful of mint leaves, cook them for just a minute and remove from the fire.

• Instead of mint, you could use Coriander along with stalks or Fenugreek leaves too.

Sesame Seeds :

• Sesame seeds should be roasted on low flame to get an even roast. Groundnuts or Bengal Gram can also be used instead of sesame seeds.
