This is the PHO Holiday Austin menu. I believe the menu is same for lunch and dinner. It has beef noodle soups and other items.

This is the PHO Holiday Austin vermicelli bowls, rice dishes and fried rice menu. They also have a few other menu pages but I didn’t take pictures of that.

PHO Holiday Austin Grilled Chicken Bánh Mì Sub Sandwich Review (Price: $8.50)

We first started off with the Vietnamese PHO Holiday Austin Grilled Chicken Bánh Mì Sub Sandwich. It has cucumbers, shredded carrots, cilantro and grilled chicken. Price for this $8.50. I wish they put some sauce in this sandwich so that its not as dry. Mayo would be nice.

PHO Holiday Austin Bún Bò Huế Spicy Beef Noodle Soup Review (Price: $15.95 for Large)

The second item we got was the Vietnamese PHO Holiday Austin Bún Bò Huế Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. We got the large bowl version so its $15.95. It comes with balanced beansprouts, peppermint leaves and a lime wedge. You can put these in the noodle to cook it a bit more. The noodle soup has beef balls and various other meats. The noodles were pretty good and the soup was not bad.

Overall, prices at PHO Holiday Austin is quite reasonable. There is free parking in front of the restaurant.

Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba Brentwood Menu & Prices Review

The Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba Brentwood has many options available on their menu. These include rice bowls, ramen noodle soups and of course, their mazesoba. There are also appetizers too. Below is a section of the page featuring their Cheese Mazesoba and Tokyo Mazesoba. You can also swap your noodles for low carb noodle by paying an extra $1.99. Toppings like pork chashu, egg, rice, corn, etc can be requested as well for an extra charge.

Certain noodle and entree items allow you to make it a combo meal. You basically get a small discount on an appetizer or drink.

Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba Brentwood Tokyo Mazesoba Dry Noodle Review (Price: $14.75)

The Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba Brentwood Tokyo Mazesoba Dry Noodle contains ingredients like spicy minced pork, seaweed flakes, runny egg yolk, green onion, minced garlic, chives, Saba fish grinder and sesame. Of course, there’s also the multi grain noodle that’s freshly made in-house. Presentation wise, it looks pretty good! Price for it is $14.75. However, they currently have summer special limited time offer. This particular dish is available for $11.95 plus tax. Pretty good deal!

Here is what the noodle looks like after you mix it.

When you finish the noodles, you are left with some chives, minced pork, green onions and other leftover condiments. You can request to have white rice to finish off the meal. The white rice is complimentary and can be seen on the right.

You mix the white rice with the leftover sauce and food.

You finish off the meal with the rice mixed together. Pretty smart of them so you don’t waste the chives, green onions and other leftovers.

Overall, the noodles were pretty good. Price was reasonable especially with their summer time promotion.

One of their most popular dishes on their menu is the Ganh Vietnamese Kitchen signature special fish noodle soups.

The Ganh Vietnamese Kitchen Signature Special Fish Noodle Soup price is $16. It includes soft rice vermicelli and soup broth made fro fish. Toppings include fish sausage, steamed fish, fish cake and deep fried fish. There’s also vegetables like bean sprouts and lettuce that you can add too. You can request these raw vegetables to be blanched first. This was a nice dish that is worthy to try. The price is not bad either. There’s quite a lot of ingredients in there too.

Overall, Ganh Vietnamese Kitchen serves some pretty solid and decent dishes. The interior of the dining room is clean and looks nice as well.

Jejudo Korean BBQ Restaurant Menu & Prices Review

We went with the Jejudo Korean BBQ Family Set for 3-4. Price is $189 plus tax and tips. It includes 200 grams of Bul-jib Pork Belly, 300 grams Marinated Pork Collar, 2 Pieces of Marinated Beef Short Ribs, 200 grams of Beef Rib Fingers, 200 grams of Pork Jowl, 300 grams of Marinated Chicken BBQ, 8 pieces BBQ Shrimps (we only got like three pieces though it seems like), 4 pieces BBQ Scallops, Bean Paste Soup and Stone Pot Rice for 3.

Each person gets their own dipping sauces and condiments for the Korean BBQ items. There some sweet sauce and chilli paste.

You also get some garlic, spicy peppers and sauce for the lettuce wraps.

You get raw lettuce wraps to wrap your BBQ meats and sauces.

We got two stone pot rices to feed four people. Shown here is just one stone pot rice.

We also got some salad as well.

There’s also a seaweed with green onion salad. This one is a little spicy.

Complimentary Banchan Side Dishes are also included. these include bean sprouts, radish and kimchi. Though, keep in mind that these side dishes can vary daily. You can ask for refills for these for free as well.

Here are the raw Korean BBQ meats. Here, we get Shrimp, Scallops, Beef Rib Fingers, Beef Short Ribs and Bul-jib Pork Belly. There’s also some enoki mushroom, asparagus and pumpkin too. The presentation for the meats are presented really nicely and are rolled up.

Here are the other Korean BBQ meats and they include Pork Jowl and Chicken.

Here, we have the beef rib fingers being cooked.

Scissors and thongs are provided so you can cut the pieces into smaller bites. They change your grill once it gets a bit sticky.

Below is a picture of a BBQ shrimp with rice and all the sides and sauces.

Overall, the meal was great and delicious. However, Korean BBQ especially at this restaurant is a little more on the pricer end. The quality was pretty good though.

The Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát Vancouver Vietnamese Restaurant Pork Bone Marrow (Small) – Xi Quach Nho price is $4. For a large portion, its $10. We got the small portion and there’s about two big pork bone pieces with meats attached. The sauce in the picture is actually for the dry noodle that we ordered. Its not for the pork bone. The pork bone marrow was pretty good and tasty.

Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát Vancouver Vietnamese Restaurant Signature Dry Egg Noodles Mi Nam Vang Kho (Price: $19)

The Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát Vancouver Vietnamese Restaurant Signature Dry Egg Noodles Mi Nam Vang Kho price is $19. There is Phnom Penh style egg noodle. You can either choose to have it in a soup or have it dry with the soup on the side. Ingredients include pork (lean, mince, heart, liver, lard), quail eggs, fresh herbs and tiger prawn. It also comes with the sauce (pictured earlier in the pork bone marrow) that you mix with the noodles.

Raw bean sprouts and lime are also included. You can also ask for the bean sprouts to be blanched. We got the dry sauce noodle version and it comes with a side soup. This is definitely a lot different than traditional Vietnamese PHO soup noodles.

I like how the bread is toasted and warm. This is a pretty neat authentic Vietnamese dish.

Kaneko Hannosuke Brentwood Premium Tendon Tempura Rice Bowl Review (Price: $19.95)

The Kaneko Hannosuke Brentwood Premium Tendon Tempura Rice Bowl price is $19.95 plus tax. Quite an expensive price for a food court meal. Let’s see what it offers.

The meal comes with a soup, ginger, tempura sauce (you can ask to have this on the side) and a nicely packaged disposable cutlery set.

There is tempura deep fried items for the following: Soft Boiled Egg, Conger eel, Shrimp, Kakiage (this is seafood tempura), Seaweed, and Green Bean. Underneath the tempura, there is a plate of white steamed rice.

I like how you are able to separate the tempura from the rice so you can eat it easier. With that said, it is a little deceiving at first seeing how big the bowl is at first. I thought the whole thing was filled with food. 

With that said, there is still a good amount of food in it. I really enjoyed the different tempura items. My favourite would probably be the deep fried tempura soft boiled egg. There’s tempura bits outside the egg yet it is still soft on the inside with liquid yolk.

This tempura bowl is one of the more pricer ones compared to their other tempura rice bowls. That’s because it has the conger eel in there. This was a pretty good tempura fish and there’s no bone too. The other tempura were solid as well.

Lastly, you also get a paper rewards card. If you purchase tempura rice bowl (excludes kid bowl) 5 times, you get free seaweed. 10 times get you free tempura shrimp, 15 times get you free kakiage seafood tempura and 20 times get you free regular tempura bowl.

Starbucks Canada Strawberry Acai Lemonade Refresher Beverage Review (Price: $6.45 for Venti Size)

The Starbucks Canada Strawberry Acai Lemonade Refresher Beverage price is $6.45 plus tax for the venti large size cup. The venti size has 709ml. This drink has lemonade, strawberries and liquid sweetener. There’s also passion fruit and açai notes. This was a nice refreshing drink and you can always ask for extra strawberries with no extra charge. They are basically dry strawberries that they put into your drink. After being in the drink for 15 minutes or so, the dry strawberries become soft again. The drink is served cold.

Starbucks Canada Starbucks Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher Review (Price: $6.45 for Venti Size)

The Starbucks Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher Beverage price is $6.45 plus tax. It is for the large venti cup size. This cup size has 709ml. It has tropical flavours of passionfruit mix and pineapple. There’s some diced pineapples too inside the drink. This was not a bad drink and feels quite tropical. It is served cold and you can always ask for no ice.

Gaya Korean Restaurant Boneless Half and Half Deep Fried Chicken (Price: $29.99)

The Gaya Korean Restaurant Boneless Half and Half Deep Fried Chicken contains half a portion of regular flavour chicken and one with yangyeom sauce. The yangyeom sauce is basically a sweet and spicy sauce. This was a delicious flavour. The deep fried chicken on the other side taste pretty good as well and you can taste the batter flavour too. This dish is served with a side of radish. Price for this is $29.99. Unfortunately, they don’t sell half portions so you have to order the full size of the chicken.

Gaya Korean Restaurant White Rice Bowl (Price: $3)

A bowl of Gaya Korean Restaurant white rice bowl is priced at $3. The rice was not bad and goes great with the deep fried chicken that we ordered. Its a little on the higher price end though at $3 and the bowl of rice isn’t too big.

Gaya Korean Restaurant Carbonara Tteok-Bokki Rice Cake (Price: $15.99)

The Gaya Korean Restaurant Carbonara Tteok-Bokki Rice Cake price is $15.99. Its basically a Korean style rice cake made with creamy carbonara sauce. There’s sausages, bacon bits, mushrooms and onions. This taste pretty good. Though, the rice cake is a little bit sticky but its not too big of a concern.

Overall, Gaya Korean Restaurant offers decent food. Its a small restaurant and sometime you can be seated quite close to the table next to you.

This is the CHICHA San Chen Burnaby Bubble Tea menu and prices. On this page, they have their most popular drinks. They’re priced a little higher than Chatime and Coco as you do get only the regular small size cup. Its not a large size cup of bubble tea.

CHICHA San Chen Bubble Tea Freshly Grounded and Brewed Tea (Price: $5.5 Tea + $1 Flavour + $1 Topping)

I went with the CHICHA San Chen tea where you choose everything separately. I choose green tea ($5.5), mango flavour ($1) and taro ball topping ($1). The drink price worked out to be $7.5 plus tax. It was a small cup. They were having some special promo month where they are advertising a celebrity as its his birthday. You get a picture of him too.

Usually, the drink would look something like this after removing the banners of the celebrity. The drink was pretty tasty and had a good green tea and mango flavour. I like the taro ball topping as they were quite fresh.

Overall, the drink was decent but it is priced a little higher than the typical Bubble Tea chains.

This is the storefront of the Joe Fortes restaurant. They have two levels so it is quite a large restaurant.

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Happy Hour Menu & Prices Review

This is the Joe Fortes Happy Hour menu. It is available everyday from 3-5pm. We recommend making a reservation online as it does get busy even during happy hour. For the food, they are essentially small appetizer snacks. The fresh shucked oysters at $2 each is not bad considering they open it for you too!

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Miso Glazed Short Ribs (Price: $14 each)

The Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Miso Glazed Short Ribs happy hour price is $14. This portion is super tiny and you only get three very thin slices of beef ribs. The sauces were not bad but this is pretty expensive even for happy hour. This was by far the worst happy hour item on the menu for the price that you pay.

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Crab & Corn Fritters (Price: $11 each)

The Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Crab & Corn Fritters happy hour price is $11. The portion size was ok as there are four deep fried pieces. There’s crab, corn and flour inside these little balls. It is served with a mayo style sauce and a lemon wedge. This taste not bad but not a super outstanding item either.

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Crispy Calamari (Price: $10 each)

The Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Crispy Calamari happy hour price is $10. The portion size is not bad. It is served with a spicy mayo and a lemon wedge. The crispy calamari taste pretty good as they were quite crispy. Not a bad happy hour item.

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Mini Lobster & Shrimp Roll (Price: $12 each)

The Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House Mini Lobster & Shrimp Roll happy hour price is $12. You get one small size sandwich. There’s two pickles at the top too. A decent amount of shrimp and lobster meat was inside the dressing. This taste not bad. However, at $12, its not exactly a cheap or good deal for happy hour either.

Overall, Joe Fortes Happy Hour doesn’t seem to be really a deal. They basically pro-rated the normal portion size to based on how much they are charging for the happy hour. In a lot of other restaurants, happy hour appetizers are usually the same portion as the regular hours appetizers. But here, they cut it quite a bit for happy hour. In addition, the minimum default tip is 18%. Normally, it should only be 15% so its quite high. This is an expensive restaurant and the happy hour is not bad for the food. However, price wise, its not really that good value.

JAPADOG Brentwood Mall Food Court Storefront Review

This is the JAPADOG Brentwood Mall Food Court storefront. They are popular for their Japanese style hot dogs that have many cool toppings. They also serve other items like milkshakes and shake fries. We had a review of the JAPADOG Trailer at Surrey Central here that you can check out too. We reviewed the hot dogs in that article.

JAPADOG Shake Fries Butter & Shoyu Brentwood Mall Food Court (Price: $3.99 each)

I got the JAPADOG Shake Fries – Butter & Shoyu Flavour. This is their classic flavour and is quite popular. They freshly deep fry the fries for you. Other flavours of the shake fries include regular, black pepper, shichimi and garlic, consomme, ume katsuo and aonori.

They put the fries in a bag and then they put seasoning inside. After that, they shake it all up so that you fries are nicely mixed and seasoned. There was a generous amount of fries in the bag. Not too bad for only $3.99 plus tax! The fries were hot and crispy and the seasoning taste great.

Overall, it was a nice snack. It would go well with a JAPADOG hot dog too.

FreshSlice Pizza Guildford Mall Food Court Storefront Review

This is the FreshSlice Pizza Guildford Mall storefront. It is usually quite busy during lunch and dinner hours. They have lots of pizza that they can quickly heat up in the oven within a few minutes. They also freshly make custom whole pizzas, cheesy breads and more too.

FreshSlice Pizza Guildford Mall Feast Pizza – Butter Chicken & Meat Lovers (Price: $3.5 each)

FreshSlice Feast Pizza Slices are $3.50 each. The classic pizza slices are $3 each. For a two slice feast pizza combo, its $8.25 ($7.25 for classic). It includes two pieces of feast pizza and a drink. I believe if you order on their FreshSlice Pizza App, it is a little more expensive. The feast pizzas usually have more toppings or sauces and are more unique compared to the classic slices.

I did have some FreshSlice coupons on the app and was able to get the two feast pizza slices for only $4 plus tax. Not too bad for only $2/slice! You can also collect 5% cashback rewards if you use the app as well.

Here, I got the FreshSlice Feast Pizza Butter Chicken and FreshSlice Feast Pizza Meat Lovers. The Butter Chicken Feast Pizza contains mozzarella, grilled chicken breast diced up pieces, red peppers, cheddar, butter chicken sauce and creamy white garlic sauce. The Meat Lovers Feast Pizza contains mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, sausage, beef, ham and zesty tomato sauce.

The slices were already made and was in the display cabinet. The staff would just put it in the oven and heat it up for a few minutes. They taste not bad and the price was really reasonable.

Overall, the pizza was delicious and fresh. I like how they warm it back up. Hot pizza taste the best.

Harbour Oyster + Bar Menu

This is the Harbour Oyster + Bar Menu. This is the menu for both lunch time and dinner. They have another menu for lunch/happy hour but we went during dinner time. On this page, they have snacks, shares, handhelds, mains and dessert. They also have a menu for drinks but I didn’t take a picture of that.

Harbour Oyster + Bar is popular for their raw oysters. They are $2 during lunch time/happy hour from 11am-5pm. Not too bad for $2! During dinner time, they’re priced at $3.5+ each. There’s quite a few dipping sauces available that you can use for your raw oysters.

Harbour Oyster + Bar Oyster Rockefeller (Price: $19)

We first started off with the appetizer and shareable Harbour Oyster + Bar Baked Oyster Rockefeller. Price is $19 and you get four oysters that are baked. They come with bacon, shallots, grana padano cheese, panko and spinach. These taste really good as they’re served hot. However, it does get quite pricey.

Harbour Oyster + Bar Crab Cakes & Salad (Price: $23)

The Harbour Oyster + Bar Crab Cakes & Salad price is $23. This is quite a disappointing dish considering the price we paid for. The crab cakes feel like they’re from the frozen deep fried seafood that you can buy at Superstore or Wal-Mart. All you had to do was just reheat it in the oven. These don’t taste that fresh and was a little salty too. The sauce that they put on it along with the garnishes like corn and tomatoes was a nice touch though. The salad was not bad either. But the crab cakes were bad.

Harbour Oyster + Bar Lobster Prawn Rolls (Price: $22 + $4 Boston Chowda Soup)

The Harbour Oyster + Bar Lobster Prawn Rolls price is $22. It comes with fries. Alternatively, you can substitute it for a Caesar salad for $3 more or a soup for $4 more. We substitute our fries for the Boston Chowda (Clam Chowder Soup) for an extra $4. The soup was pretty good as it had some corn and tomatoes in it. There were about 3-4 clams inside. There was also some potatoes too. It was a nice creamy soup.

The lobster prawn rolls come with lobster, prawn, lettuce and brioche buns. Its basically a salad mix as there was celery mixed with the lobster and prawn. These taste not bad. However, I prefer if they just went with only as a lobster roll.

Overall, the food was not bad. The worst was the crab cakes so I wouldn’t recommend ordering that. The lobster and prawn rolls, Boston Chowda Soup and Baked Oyster Rockefeller were all solid choices though. Depending on what you order, it can get pricey though.

The 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Rice Rolls with Bean Curd and Fish Paste price is $8.95. There are six large pieces. Its basically crispy bean curd wrapped around fish paste and then its again wrapped with steamed rice rolls. It is served with soy sauce, sweet hoisin sauce and peanut sauce. These taste pretty good.

冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Chiu Chow Style Dumplings, Beef Rice Rolls, Beef Tripe and Beef Tendons, Deep Fried Prawn Dumplings, Pan Fried Chive Shrimp Dumplings

Next up are five 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver dim sum dishes. They include Chiu Chow Style Dumplings (Price: $7.85), Beef Rice Rolls (Price: $8.95), Beef Tripe and Beef Tendons (Price: $8.35), Deep Fried Prawn Dumplings (Price: $7.85), Pan Fried Chive Shrimp Dumplings (Price: $8.65).

The Chiu Chou Style Dumplings contains three pieces and they have peanuts, pork, and various vegetables inside. The beef rice roll is steamed and includes soy sauce. The beef tripe and beef tendons were tender and braised well. The deep fried prawn dumplings taste great. However, they should have given some sauce like sweet chili or mayo. The pan fried chive shrimp dumplings taste great with lots of fresh shrimp and chives.

冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Steamed Rice Rolls with Chinese Donut (Price: $9.25)

The 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Steamed Rice Rolls with Chinese Donut was a huge portion. Price is $9.25. They used a whole Chinese donut and wrapped the rice roll. It is served with soy sauce, sweet hoisin sauce and peanut sauce.

冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Baked Egg Custard Tarts (Price: $7.85)

The 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Baked Egg Custard Tarts come with four mini tarts. Price is $7.85. The pastry was really tender. The egg inside was really hot as I believe they made ours fresh from the oven. These are sweet and great as a dessert item.

冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Pan Fried Vermicelli Noodles with Beef, Pickled Vegetables and Ginger (Price: $27.95)

The 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant Vancouver Pan Fried Vermicelli Noodles with Beef, Pickled Vegetables and Ginger is a little expensive at $27.95. One has Chinese Sausage, mushrooms, tender chicken and vegetable. The other one has black bean sauce spareribs with braised chicken feet and vegetable. You pour soy sauce on top of it. These were pretty big portions and can definitely fill one person up.

Overall, 冠寶 Koon Bo Chinese Restaurant offers solid dim sum at reasonable prices. The restaurant is not too big though.

I like the crispy bun texture on the bottom while inside its tender and juicy. There’s some pork and soup inside these little buns too. They taste great.

Overall, great meal at AFANG Chinese Cuisine. The prices are really reasonable. The dining setting is a small and is kind of like a neighbourhood style type of restaurant.
