Jeremy Danford is a sports writer and blogger with a particular interest in all things gambling. He regularly checks the odds online and gambles at intertops.

The most popular Premier League side bet is that placed on the player who might emerge as the top goal scorer and bag the Golden Boot.

The Premier League, which was launched in 1992 – 93, has seen a large number of talented players. The top goal scorer bet will be one of the most competitive bets during the 2012 – 13 season with punters betting heavily on stars such as Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, and Robin Van Persie. Betting, though not heavy, is done on Mario Balotelli, Andy Carrol, Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero, and Frank Lampard.

It was Robin Van Persie who was the top goal scorer last season, having scored 30 goals for The Arsenal. The chances of Van Persie nabbing the Golden Boot once again are quite high.

While Robin Van Persie is quite clearly the favorite, Fernando Torres is looking forward to a much better season. During his first season, Torres scored 24 goals. This season, he has already scored 2 goals in three games, and ever since Didier Drogba left the scene, Torres has been the number one striker for the Blues.

Wayne Rooney had a great chance of emerging as the top goal scorer of the season, but the appearance of Van Persie has lowered his odds of grabbing the Golden Boot. Moreover, he was injured early in the season.

Here are the betting odds—3.75 for Robin Van Persie of Manchester United, 7 for Fernando Torres of Chelsea and Carlos Tevez of Manchester City, 13 for Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, 21 for Wayne Rooney of Manchester United, Nikica Jelavic of Everton, and Miguel Michu of Swanse, 26 for Luis Suarez of Liverpool, Emmanuel Abedayor of Tottenham, and Lukas Podolski of Arsenal, 29 for Papiss Cisse of Newcastle, and 34 for Oliver Giroud of Arsenal and Mario Balotelli of Manchester City.

David Beckham is set to leave Los Angeles Galaxy in December after spending six years with the MLS Club.

The former Manchester United midfielder moved to the United States of America hoping to raise theprofile of the sport in the country, just as Pele tried to do in the 1970s when he joined New York Cosmos. Despite the acquisition of those two big names to their league, it remains to be seen if their inclusion has in fact benefited the game in America moving forward. The real test is likely to come in the next couple of World Cups to see if Team USA can bridge the gap that exists between themselves and some of the elite nations in the game, with the likes of Brazil and Spain still the hot favourites in the football odds.

Beckham has yet to decide on his next move, which looks sure to be the final challenge of his career. The 37-year old will no doubt receive offers from all over the world which could include clubs in Australia, Brazil, Russia, and China. His next likely destination, though, is France with Paris Saint Germain.

It was PSG who tried to persuade the LA Galaxy man to join them last year but he opted against the move at the time. However, now seems the perfect opportunity for him to join up with Carlo Ancelotti once again who was his manager when he was on loan at Italian giants AC Milan. He may also be persuaded by another former boss, Leonardo, who is at the club as a sporting director and whom he remains good friends with.

The French club will have no problems funding the wages of Beckham following their takeover by a Qatari consortium and are currently evens with Paddy Power transfer specials to sign the former United man. They are looking to join Europe’s elite once again and will see this as an opportunity to bring on board one of the biggest names in world football. They already have Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Motta, and Javier Pastore, who have all been big money signings recently for the club.

You’d have to wonder if Beckham would be prepared to make such a lifestyle change in joining a club in either Australia, Russia or China. His family are likely to come first, so Paris does look like a realistic option that would suit, with its close proximity to London. Melbourne Heart still remain keen to try and persuade him to join the A League but his representatives have already denied that any talks have gone on between the parties.

The Internet has further popularized the game of bingo, which has been a favorite game of chance for centuries. A large number of UK bingo players now prefer playing their favorite game of bingo at online UK bingo sites. Although the experience of playing at land bingo halls is unbeatable, players still prefer online bingo over land bingo for several good reasons, one of which is that UK bingo sites go out of their way to link bingo with European football for the benefit of football fans.

The best UK bingo sites are licensed and regulated and give top priority to customer satisfaction, responsible gambling, fair play, and security. UK bingo players can safely part with their hard-earned money at UK bingo sites because of the excellent encryption technology incorporated into the gambling software. Besides, UK bingo sites offer a wide range of popular bingo variants, entertaining promotions, new player bonuses, and rewards for loyalty. UK bingo sites also offer the best social bingo as they give players the chance to create their own profiles, share pictures, view blog posts, read bingo news, and interact with attractive bingo hosts and bingo buddies from all over the world.

UK bingo sites attract a large number of European football fans who cannot resist playing online bingo. In fact, European football fans who love bingo must sign up for real money play at a few major UK bingo sites because they offer special promotions and unique football-themed bingo games for football lovers.

During the European football season, bingo players can expect a wide range of promotions and progressive jackpot bingo games based on the football theme. Players who take part in these football-themed promotions and games stand the chance of winning free football bets at prominent online sportsbooks, exclusive tickets to football events, football-related merchandize, and much more.

Martin Kelly’s Liverpool career has not gone according to plan since his Premier League debut three seasons ago and after a fresh injury it appears the Kop will have to wait a lot longer to see the youngster fulfil his potential.

Kelly, a product of Liverpool’s youth system, limped off in the dying minutes of the live football online action on Sunday, which ended in a 2-1 loss to rivals Manchester United, after twisting his knee on the Anfield turf. The right-back immediately collapsed and after brief treatment headed off the pitch, leaving his side with just eight outfield players.

A scan on Monday has revealed damage that will keep the 22-year-old out of action until the new year, just another personal setback after a tough baptism of fire to life in the Premier League.

For Kelly’s rise through the Reds ranks has come at a time where the club have fallen on bad times. Mismanagement at board level has restricted success on the pitch and Kelly’s first full season with the club coincided with Liverpool finishing outside the top six for the first time in a decade. Liverpool are now rank outsiders to finish in the top four this season in the bet365 football betting odds.

The right-back has constantly found a place in the Liverpool first team difficult to hold down thanks to Glen Johnson’s presence and just last year he limped off with a hamstring problem following an indifferent display against Bolton.

Despite Liverpool winning 63% of their games with Kelly last season, the Whiston-born man was often overlooked as manager Kenny Dalglish struggled to find consistency in his squad.

Now under a new boss it was hoped Kelly would earn a string of appearances in the squad as Brendan Rodgers develops a youthful side for the future. However, the man often touted as Jamie Carragher’s successor is yet to find his true footing at Liverpool and this new injury layoff will seriously hamper any integration into the Rodgers era.

In addition to betting on big league matches, such as the NFL football matches and European Premier League football games, punters also like to bet on college football matches.

College football betting has become an industry sector by itself, especially after the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) was formed. The NCAA is an organization that comprises almost 1300 colleges, sports groups and athletic institutions or individuals in the regions of Canada and the United States.

One of the reasons that college football betting is so important is because the NCAA football matches serve as a launch pad for talented football players and athletes to acquire scholarships and get noticed by scouts. As a result, the players are highly competitive and the games are very interesting to bet on. There are 2 divisions in the college football matches, namely the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and also the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Also, the divisions of college football have 120 teams where as NFL divisions only feature around 32 teams.

Punters who have learned how to read lines and spot discrepancies should follow college football and will be able to make a good wager based on the odds. However, like all sports and sports bets, punters will have to learn about how the NCAA football betting works; research the teams and their players to find out who is in good form and who is injured. The betting lines are higher in college football on account of the number of teams competing.

There are several sportsbooks that offer odds, wagers and handicaps on college football betting and punters will find that almost all top sportsbooks feature this option. Sportsbooks feature bets on both FCS and FBS matches. Some punters prefer to cut their teeth on college football bets and then move on to betting in bigger numbers and for big league matches.

With one round of matches in the new Premier League season now completed, it’s remarkable to hear the knee jerk reaction emanating from the mouths of some supporters and certain members of the media.

Liverpool were soundly beaten by an impressive looking West Bromwich Albion, ironically managed by their former number two Steve Clarke. Already the football forums and sound waves are filled with rumblings of discontent from Liverpool supporters, some who see Brendan Roger’s appointment as a catastrophe for the club and seething at the board for their unfair treatment of King Kenny.

The first boos of the season rang out at the Emirates Stadium from a small section of supporters, as Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Sunderland. Whether the boos were aimed at the board for allowing van Persie and Song to depart, at the team for failing to break down an impressive rearguard action from Sunderland, or perhaps disappointment with the latest selection of prawn sandwiches I have yet to discover.

With ten goals scored in two games in west London, the supporters of both Queens Park Rangers and Norwich are already talking about the long struggle to stay in the Premier League. While both teams had a bad day in the office, the supporters of Fulham and Swansea City supporters were smiling at their great start to the season. It is somewhat relevant to point out that there are another 37 Premier League games still to play and there is no need to press the panic button right now.

Everton who are notoriously slow starters deservedly beat Manchester United thanks to a fine headed goal from Fellaini, who terrorised the United defence. Prior to kick off Manchester United were being touted of as favourites for the Premier League following the addition of Robin van Persie to their ranks. Despite this defeat, nobody dares write off Manchester United, because Sir Alex Ferguson has proven year after year that he knows how to manage his resources better than any other manager.

United’s noisy neighbours and the defending champions, were given a scare by newly promoted Southampton; but Manchester City recovered from a 1-2 deficit to win 3-2. For the home team it was further proof that even when behind they know how to fight back and win. For newly promoted Saints, it was a far better result than they might have expected prior to kick off and a sign that they are unlikely to be overawed now that they are back in the top league.

There was enough evidence in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Tottenham to suggest that both teams are good enough to once again challenge for European places. Newcastle have made one or two astute signings and at the same time have managed to hold onto their stars from last season.

There are one or two questions marks about Tottenham, with Andre Villas-Boas hoping to repair his managerial reputation after his failure at Chelsea and the issue of who will replace Luka Modric should he finally leave London for Madrid.

West Ham supporters will be delighted to have begun the new campaign with three points, while supporters of Aston Villa now under Paul Lambert will be expecting their team to be less boring than they were last season under Alex McLeish and hope not to be dragged into a relegation battle.

Both Reading and Stoke City should be satisfied with a share of the points after their opening fixture. It’s never easy to visit a team who have just been promoted but for much of the game Stoke dominanted. While for Reading scoring that first goal and picking up a first point provide a psychological boost in what promises to be a long and challenging season.

Chelsea were straight out of the blocks against Wigan, scoring twice within the first seven minutes; both goals the result of excellent play by new boy Eden Hazard. At which point Wigan woke up, realizing that the season had actually started and then began to dominate possession, creating a number of half chances, while the Londoners sat back and soaked up the pressure.

Overall not an exciting match, but there were still enough positive signs to suggest that Wigan, if they can wake up on time, will hold their own in the Premier League; while for Roberto di Matteo’s team an evolution is under way which potentially could see them break up the Manchester hegemony.
It may not be the Olympic Games, but Premier League football is back. The first weekend provided plenty of entertainment with 27 goals in 10 games, two sendings off, a manager in trouble for pushing an official and a total of 344,124 paying spectators watching the ten games.

Michael Goldstone is a football lover from beginning to end, and loves nothing better than watching a good match. When not reading about the game, Michael likes to unwind over a good action movie or a nice, challenging game of baccarat online with his mates.

With just a few days left for the season to begin, the football betting community is in a state of wild excitement. Online betting sites, betting portals, betting forums, blogs, and other online betting resources are packed with exciting EPL betting odds, betting news, odds analyses, hot picks, EPL betting tips, and other valuable information that new as well as seasoned punters will need to make an informed bet.

It is time for punters to carefully review the major events of the previous season and make a comparative study of the previous season and the upcoming season as this will help them make lucrative bets. Punters must study certain statistics from the previous season to make better predictions for the upcoming season. For instance, the top goal scorers of the previous EPL season were Robert Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Clint Dempsey, and Emmanuel Adebabyor. They may repeat their excellent performance this season, but there is no reason to believe that they will definitely emerge as the toppers once again.

Punters must also keep themselves updated on the latest EPL news. For instance, Readings Royals, West Ham United, and Southampton Saints have been promoted into the league this year, and these teams are the hot favorites at present. Besides, QPR has inducted a number of new players, including Fabio Da Silva from Manchester United. Since Da Silva is an excellent player, QPR might perform better during this season. Knowing the latest developments in the EPL will help punters make better decisions.

EPL punters should bet responsibly; even if they have done their homework well and invested on the best EPL picks, they cannot use funds meant for education or groceries on EPL betting.

Online punters can place NFL bets just for fun; however, if they want to make money, they must do a lot of hard work. Before wagering real money, they must thoroughly study the sports betting world and how it works. Unlike the online poker world, which offer detailed tutorials or guides on how to play online poker and implement strategies to improve one’s odds of winning, the online sports betting world hardly bothers about learning the rules and strategies of online sports betting. Yet, there is plenty to learn in the online sports betting world.

If new players choose the best online sportsbooks, identify the best NFL picks, understand the rules of probability, and study various teams and players, they will stand a much better chance of winning their bets. Punters must first understand exactly how online bookmakers make a profit irrespective of the outcomes of the match or race as this knowledge will help them make a wiser decision.

New bettors tend to get confused over choosing a good online sportsbook because the Internet is literally packed with online sportsbooks. Punters can take the help of sports betting forums and portals to identify the best online sportsbooks in terms of licensing, bonuses, and betting markets. They should then sign up at not one, but several online sportsbooks so that they can compare odds, services, offers, and picks and select the best deals.

Instead of betting on all sports events available at the online bookmaker, punters must specialize in one or two sports. They should then invest some time in learning everything about these sports from expert handicappers, sports betting blogs, and NFL picks websites so that they can make an informed decision. An example for the best NFL picks website, which offers excellent information on betting odds, picks, and team statistics, is NFLBettingPicks.org.

Betting on sports events through mobile devices is rapidly gaining popularity simply because more and more people prefer using their mobile phones, smartphones, and tablets to place bets. In response to this latest development, the best online sportsbooks in the industry have launched mobile sports betting apps, which can be easily and quickly downloaded on mobile devices. Thanks to these apps, players can view the latest odds and place bets on a wide range of sports such as football, NFL, soccer, boxing, and horse racing.

Getting started with NFL mobile sports betting is quite easy. Interested punters can easily join a mobile sportsbook by visiting an online sportsbook that offers mobile sports betting services and downloading the app. If they haven’t registered an account at the online sportsbook, they need to do so by filling in a simple registration form. The next step is to fund their accounts using any banking method accepted at the online sportsbook. They can now use their mobile devices to view betting odds on a wide range of sports markets from football to horse racing and place bets.

Mobile sportsbooks may or may not be feature rich. While some mobile sportsbooks only allow players to view betting odds and place bets through their mobile devices, others offer plenty of features such as live video streaming, in-play betting, live betting, and others. Some mobile sports betting apps also include handicapping services that guide punters to the best betting odds and send top picks directly to their email addresses. Placing a bet is as easy as choosing the team or the player one wants to bet on and then selecting the amount one wishes to bet.

Most of the top mobile sportsbooks are compatible with almost any mobile device under the sun, including Blackberry, Android, and iOS devices.
