This is it! That last week leading up until the NFL season for Fantasy Football owners to assemble their squads. We know many filled their rosters over the weekend, but in case you still have a draft or need to make some roster moves we have done a final update to our Quarterback Redraft Rankings with Average Draft Position (ADP).

We all know who the top QBs are and people will have their reasons for who they like out of the bunch. Let’s have a look at a few of those that you may be on the fence with…

Brett Favre, Minn: We predict that Favre will not put up numbers like he did in 2009. Sorry, that was kind of a joke. Considering that he has never put up a season like that in his Hall of Fame career, we think that is one of the easiest predictions to make. Sadly some lead with that like it is prophetic.

Doing the math, Favre is a year older, is missing Sidney Rice for at least half the season, may not have a target that is 100% in Percy Harvin some weeks, and the injuries don’t go away as fast as they used to. We are sad to think that we may see Favre’s starting streak come to an end and a retirement that isn’t necessarily on his terms.

In the fantasy football world, we slate Favre as part of a QB by committee or back up fantasy QB. Chances are if you wait to take Favre as anything other than your starter, someone else is going to draft him before you. I personally never have to make the decision because someone takes him several rounds before where I would have.

Matthew Stafford, DET: Remember those days when you had trouble taking Aaron Brooks as a QB in fantasy football? He was putting up decent fantasy numbers, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to take that Saints QB? We think there is something happening similar in Detroit. Not so much comparing the players, but compairing how historically losing teams and positions make a turn for the right. Regardless of the blue and silver he wears, we like Matthew Stafford.

Brooks eventually took a nosedive back into Saints QB-ness and then banished to Oakland. As the Lions add weapons around Stafford we look for him to only get better. So much so that we have moved him in the rankings into the Top 12. The beauty if you want to grab him is that you own’t have to grab him early at all, in fact he may even go undrafted.

With the expectations that are on him from fantasy owners…not much in Detroit…we think that Stafford has the most potential to surprise this season.

Donovan McNabb, WAS: With McNabb missing time with the ankle injury, he has fallen a bit in our rankings. We have him in the backup Fantasy QB roll/QB by Committee, landing just ahead of those like Chad Henne and Vince Young. Learning a new offense, missing time, and the injury all together could make for a slow start.

Here we are in the last weekend before the 2010 NFL Season. For those lucky enough  to have been able to hold off on your fantasy football draft for the holiday weekend, we have made a final update to our Running Back redraft Rankings with Average Draft Position from three live draft sites included.

Getting the right RBs can put you at a significant advantage in the matchups against your opponents who are using early picks on QB and WR. If you can get players at those positions that are comparable in points, but you hold more points at RB…well, you can do that math.

Matt Forte (#20): It appears that Forte has held off Chester Taylor. As we have mentioned before, we don’t feel that it is fair for people to assume that Taylor will be catching all the balls out of the backfield as Forte has been toward the top of receivers at the Running Back position the last couple of years.

Jerome Harrison (#28): Due to default by injury of competition in Montario Hardesty, Harrison is moving up draft boards. If the Browns were not as much of a question mark we may see him a little higher. He is a solid #3RB back who can easily move into a #3RB role for you. Don’t feel bad if you miss out if someone takes him too soon as one way or another, he is still going to share time.

Correll Buckhalter (#37): Possible sleeper? How many years have we asked that question. Handcuff for Moreno, for sure. You should also look at him in later rounds if the Moreno owner doesn’t get him. Who knows if Knowshon can hold off the injury bug.

We are in the last weekend before the 2010 NFL season begins. Who has Fantasy Football drafts to complete yet? I have always envied those that can put the draft off until just days before the first game of the season. Because there are drafts to be done yet, we have compiled one more listing of Fantasy Football Rankings. This batch here covers Wide Receiver.

Included with the Rankings we have the Average Draft Position from MyfantasyLeague.com,CBS Sports, and ESPN live draft results. I love having ADP data available as it makes for a nice gauge where others may be valuing your targets.

Let’s have a look at some movers and shakers…

Larry Fitzgerald (#6): I have to say, I’m one who has fallen with Fitz. He is my #1WR in many leagues this season that drafted early. Don’t get me wrong, he is still going to be a solid #1WR, he has just fallen from the #3 slot we originally had him at this offseason.

Wes Welker (#14): So as it comes down to kickoff of the season and Welker is looking like he is going to be just fine. His ADP has been all over since owners who drafted early didn’t know what to make of him. There certainly were some owners who lucked out getting him late. We see Welker as a #2WR who can make for part of a solid pair with a stud #1WR.

Laurent Robinson(#30) Robinson has moved the most in recent weeks as the injury to Donnie Avery has put him out for the season. We have him ranked a little higher than people will take him so you can watch him fall a little bit. We see him as an upside pick and wouldn’t suggest taking him too soon. When you see some of the players that are behind him being drafted, who are certainly to be valued more, you can take a swing at him.

In 2010 you should consider yourself lucky if you can draft a feature back to your fantasy football team. What about those guys in the back end of the first round? They are likely going to be looking at some WRs and QBs while they build a Running Back by Committee themselves.

With the emergence of players like Andre Johnson and Aaron Rodgers, as well as some others at their positions, some owners may find themselves missing out on some RBs when they use a top pick on the other positions too. In fact, Johnson, Rodgers, and Randy Moss all have an Average Draft Position in the first round. Reggie Wayne, Drew Brees, and Calvin Johnson are right there at the top of the second. The owners going with those guys are going to have to do their homework on Running Backs later in the draft.

Today we are going to look at the Top Five Running Backs to own that are not considered the starter on their teams. It is important to be aware of these guys as they will still be getting you fantasy points on a weekly basis and they are a twisted ankle by the starter away from a great sleeper position. If you use an early pick on QB or WR, keep a look out for these guys later on.

Jonathan Stewart (ADP-Rd 4, pick 10): Stewart is in a unique situation in Carolina. He is considered the #2 RB, but he still gets more touches than a first stringer on some teams, as reflected in his 221 rushes for 1133 yards and five TDs in 2009. For owners that don’t go with two running backs in the first three rounds, Stewart is just about the best RB2 that you can get in your lineup.

Felix Jones(ADP-Rd 6, pick 2): If Jones can stay healthy himself, he can find himself in a situation where he is the lead back in Dallas. The Cowboys are not ready to give up on Marion Barber yet, but if he can’t stay on the field they will not have a choice but to give way to Jones. While they would have Tashard Choice in there, Jones gets more touches that can very easily turn into home runs. even with Barber in there, the split will keep him alive in games. If you go RB, WR, QB, or a combination of those, Jones can still make a decent #2RB.

Brandon Jacobs (ADP-Rd 6, Pick 12): The Giants  are ready to get back to some smash mouth football in New York. It appears they have taken the corner to Ahmad Bradshaw as the starting tailback, but Jacobs is still around…and not happy about it. Since Jacobs has not made a full season since his rookie year in 2005, it may keep him healthy. we see Jacobs as a decent later pick up as a RB3 for your bye week filler with the potential to do more depnding on the carry split and the health of Bradshaw.

Reggie Bush (ADP-Rd 6, pick 8): “I wouldn’t draft Reggie Bush unless it was a PPR league.” That is what you will hear by many owners, yet he goes on average in the later half of the sixth round. The important thing with Bush is to play your match ups. Pay attention to who else is out on the Saints in the Running and Passing game. Pay attention to who they are playing. Reggie will score big some weeks, not so much others. If Pierre Thomas goes down, you will see more Reggie Bush. Fact. Did we mention that he is worth a little more in PPR?

Ricky Williams (ADP-Rd 7, pick 7): Ricky Williams is often forgot about. His numbers in 2009 were very similar to Jonathan Stewart (241 carries, 1121 yards, four TDs) with Ronnie Brown going down. In fact, it is important to note that Ronnie Brown has only completed one sixteen game season in his career. While other owners in your league think about how Ricky is getting old and Ronnie is the Wildcat guy for the offense, you pick up a solid #3RB with an upside that shoots up if Brown goes down. Keep in mind that the Fins should even have a bit of help from the passing game taking pressure off the run.

The 2011 NFL Draft looks as if it can be another draft that is heavy on the Defensive side of the ball. The Chick-Fil-A kickoff game in Atlanta on September 4th (ABC) between North Carolina and LSU is going to make for a nice showcase on that talent.

When North Carolina is on Defense it will be hard to not catch one of the future NFL stars in on a play. Robert Quinn (DE), Bruce Carter (OLB), Deunta Williams (FS), Quan Sturdivant (ILB), and Kendric Burney (CB), are all possibilities to be taken in the early rounds of the next draft.

On the offensive side of the ball, Wide Receiver Greg Little is a potential high draft pick as well. In 2010 Little led the Tar Heels with 62 receptions, 724 yards and five touchdowns. At this time we see him as a possible second round or early third round pick.

The Tar Heals will be without star Defensive Tackle, Marvin Austin, due to his indefinite suspension. Austin chose not to enter the 2010 NFL Draft so he could return to North Carolina. While it is unknown how this will effect his 2011 NFL Draft stock, it certainly can’t help matters.

While not as overflown with talent, LSU boasts some future prospects as well. Patrick Peterson (CB), Terrence Toliver(WR), Kelvin Sheppard (ILB), and Drake Nevis (DT) give a peek as to some of the names we will be hearing leading up to the draft in April.

For our fantasy football readers, this game can be candy to the eyes if you play in Dynasty leagues, especially if it uses Individual Defensive Players.

We are heading down the final stretch as far as fantasy football drafts go for the 2010 season. We have been updating our rankings and throwing them out there to our readers and we conclude this go around with the Tight End rankings and Average Draft Position.

We shook things up on the ADP this time around. Instead of using mock draft data we are using live draft ADP data from MyFantasyLeague.com,CBS Sports, and ESPN. The numbers are for the overall pick now as opposed to the round/pick we used before.

The Tight End position is deep this season, but don’t be left in the cold on taking the wrong guy. Getting the right starting Tight End can mean the difference between and win and loss when it comes to match ups with your opponent. Let’s have a look at some movement in this update…

Jermichael Finley, GB (#4 to #3): This is not a significant leap in the rankings, but it is just enough when trying to figure out who to go to  with the #3 Tight End. We are seeing a break out for Finley this season as the Packers offense is already in mid-season form before the season starts.

Right there with Finley are going to be Jason Witten and Vernon Davis. What you need to decide is if you are going to be the next guy to pull the TE trigger after Gates and Clark are gone. You could wait and either Witten or Davis may even go ahead of Finley. That would make a nice bonus, but if you like Finley as much as we do, you may not want to take the chance. His ADP is around the 60th pick, so in a 12 team league you are going to want to get ready in the mid to late fourth round and on.

Zach Miller, OAK (#9 to #8): While we have had our eye on Miller as a Top 10 TE for some time, we can just not get over the possible value that he can bring with him. If you want to wait on TE while others may be over paying for the second tier guys, watch Miller (of the Oakland Miller’s, not Jacksonville).

Miller has led the Raiders in Receiving yards and receptions for the last two years and he is only improving. Jason Campbell is in town now and is thought to be an upgrade at QB, which can only help Zach Miller. While the Raiders hope that their WR corps will finally catch on this season, Miller will make the perfect guy for Campbell to rely on.

Now about drafting Miller. As mentioned, he is the perfect TE to take while your peers where grabbing the second tier guys and you are grabbing value at other positions. If you are an owner who values depth, this is your chance to take it. Beware, we endorse the “whoever scores the most wins” philosophy so don’t neglect your starting positions for too long.

The big buy on Miller is that you can very likely have him in the ninth round. Playing it safe you could take him in the mid to late eighth. Envision having your three RBs, three WRs, a QB and then landing our #8 TE.

Hear that? The 2010 Fantasy Football seasons is getting closer. The NFL season starts next week and fantasy drafts will be wrapping up soon. If you have had not had yours yet, or you want to make some roster moves, we have updated out Wide Receiver Rankings and Average Draft Position Data for you.

We are doing something a little different with the ADP data now. Up until this week we had been using ADP results from Mock Drafts. Now we are showing the overall average pick from three live draft sources, MyFantasyLeague.com, CBS Sports, and ESPN.

Calvin Johnson (#8 to #4): This may look a little strange to some, being a Lion and all. Truth is that after the top two Wide Receivers there are five that could be interchangeable in the 3-7 slots for WR. So with that, once the first two are gone, you can feel safe waiting until the mid second round to get one of these guys. We just happen to think that Calvin Johnson could edge them in a few points.

Something weird is happening in Detroit. We know it is only the Preseason, but the Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson hook up is looking solid.

Malcolm Floyd (#29 to #24): Floyd’s name isn’t new being thrown out there. Since the whole Vincent Jackson thing came up he was the one being named as the man who was going to have to step up. We feel that Floyd is a great #3 WR option with upside.

With an ADP of the middle of the seventh round you could be well stocked at starters before taking him as a 3-4 WR. It is our thinking that Floyd has the potential to put up WR2 numbers before it is over.

Bernard Berrian (NA to #38): With the Sidney Rice injury and the Percy Harvin headaches, owners are looking around at who else there is to throw to. That Berrian guy used to be pretty good.

The Vikings have added a couple WRs this week, but right now we see Berrian as the guy who has to step up. Don’t give up too much for him, but keep an eye on him.

Shows if player is available in your league

For the last few years Football Jabber has been pointing Fantasy Football owners in the direction of the best free fantasy football tools. There has been hesitation at times, for we are fantasy ballers ourselves, that we would give up something that our own rivals would use against us for the sake of evil. In the name of good though, we put the information out there, as promised. Never before now has there been a moment that we were so tempted to keep a nugget for ourselves…until now.

This morning, we were stopping by to visit The Fantasy Football Librarian when we came across a post that ended with the praise of a browser plugin that was touted as pretty cool. I remember looking at it once in the past, but that was as far as I got. Looking further I realized that Sara was introducing me to a tool that will change the way I myself play fantasy football.

This year I seriously cut back on leagues, it was just getting too much to keep up with. Inadvertently, I ended up in more than I planned. At least most are redraft and I don’t have to manage huge Dynasty rosters. Anyway, one of the problems was remembering who was on which team when it came to roster moves. More often than not I’m happy with my draft and don’t make many moves, but things happen (Damn you Tom Brady of 2008!). In just about ten minutes today, my roster problems were solved.

It took about ten minutes to look into, download the plugin, and enter my teams into the PickemFirst tool. When I tried it out I was blown away at the powerful simplicity.

With PickemFirst you can go to any site and click the “go” button. If there is a name on the page from your chosen fantasy sport (covers way more than Fantasy Football) an icon will appear. The icon will tell you if the player is available in your league, news items, projections, and more from multiple sources. If the player is available in your league, clicking will take you to your add/drop page. (See images below)

This plugin works with Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. This guy here personally has it installed in Google Chrome.

Adding teams is simple. Once signed up you just enter your team page in the settings and BAM!. Multiple league hosts work. Personally I have leagues from MyFantasyLeague.com, ESPN, and NFL.com entered and all have worked without a hitch.

Now I know this is a power that can be used against me, but it was for a good cause to put it out there to our readers. I guess we will see which of my league mates were paying attention.

Time is flying by leading up to the 2010 Fantasy Football season. There is only about a week and a half and one full weekend for those that have not held their fantasy football drafts yet. We personally feel that it is best to hold off as long as you can before having your draft, with the preseason injuries and depth charts changing things. Speaking of changing things, they also keep our rankings changing with the times. We have updated our Redraft Running Back Rankings and Average Draft Position.

We have a change in our ADP data now. We were previously using Mock Draft Data, but we are now putting in the data from some live draft results from MyFantasyLeague.com, CBS Sports, and ESPN to give a more accurate look for you on where these players may be taken. We have also changed the display of the data from round/pick to overall pick number for those leagues with different amounts of teams. For example, a player in picked with the eleventh pick in the second round doesn’t add up for a ten team league.

So with a fresh batch of rankings, let’s check out some player movement and possible sleepers…

Ryan Mathews (#11 to #9): This is not a big leap, but significant in the top 10. We were a little standoffish on Mathews when we first started the season’s rankings a couple months ago, waiting to see how things played out for the rookie in the preseason. He has been nothing but impressive this far in. In very limited work he is showing that he is going to have some big play ability (runs of 16 and 18 yards) as well as be there with some hands to catch the ball.

The first game of the season will be more telling, of course, when it comes to how many touches Darren Sproles will take. From our seat right now though, it looks like Mathews is the real deal and can be worth an early second round pick.

SLEEPER ALERT!

Matt Forte (#37 to #27) :So Mike Martz is in town and there are concerns that he is going to put a damper on Matt Forte’s fantasy stock. Bringing even more questions was the arrival of Chester Taylor from the rival Minnesota Vikings. Since Taylor’s specialty up north was catching passes, people assume that will be his role in Chicago.

People forget that Matt Forte led the league in 2008 for Running Back receptions with 63. He was third for Running Back Receptions in 2009 with 57. The man can catch the ball. Chester Taylor arriving isn’t going to make him less capable.

Aside from a good pass catcher, Chester Taylor is also a good backup Running Back. We feel that will be his roll in Chicago the way that the preseason is playing out, causing a jump in Forte’s rank. Matt Forte should make for a very solid second running back that can come cheap. If you are one of those going after WRs and QBs with earlier picks and can swing getting Forte as a second back, you may be ahead of the game!

The 2010 Fantasy Football season is approaching fast and Football Jabber has updated the Quarterback Rankings and Average Draft Position. If you are yet to draft it is time to get those cheat sheets together and decide where you are going to target your players.

We have taken a different turn with this update and added ADP from three live draft sources as opposed to the Mock Draft Data that we had been using. Along with where we rank a player you can see the overall average pick position of the player from MyFantasyLeague.com, CBS Sports, and ESPN draft results.

There has been some player movement since the last update, let’s have a look at a few movers and shakers.

Brett Favre(#15 to# 17): In our last update Lord Favre came back up the rankings after officially making his return to Minnesota. Since then we have seen Percy Harvin taken from practice in an ambulance and we have been notified that Sidney Rice will miss at least half the season.

While it isn’t a big fall back, it is not a move forward from our already unflattering previous ranking. Fantasy owners seem to be loving Favre more than we are. We already thought that we will see an end to Favre’s start streak this season due to injury, the uncertainty at WR does not help matters at all. Let someone else use too high of a pick on him.

SLEEPER ALERT!

Matthew Stafford (#16 to #14) : It is going to take some numbers in place for people to finally give in and admit that there are fantasy options other than Calvin Johnson on the Detroit Lions. While this isn’t a large move forward, we like Stafford more than his ADP suggests others do.

While we don’t suggest using an early pick on him, you can see by his ADP that he can be had for a value later. Just about the time that almost half the league has their backups you can swoop in and take this guy that we think has a good upside.

If you find yourself using your early picks on RBs and WRs, Stafford could make a great QB to throw in a Quarterback by Committee situation with someone like an Alex Smith.
