ASU Interns:

Our elementary campus is fortunate to have a partnership with Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers’ College in Tempe. This connection provides us with very talented ASU students who are about to complete their college course work in Elementary teaching. We have five “interns” this semester, all of whom are completing their Bachelors Degrees and working on their Masters Degrees in Education. These young and aspiring teachers bring current developments in “best practices in elementary education” to our classrooms. Therefore , not only do our students and teachers benefit from this relationship, but our school continues to gain recognition at the University level throughout the state of Arizona. ASU has chosen Foothills Academy Elementary Preparatory because of the quality experience the college interns receive and because we exemplify success in our classrooms and set an example for future teachers.

NAU Multiage Conference:

Foothills Academy Elementary Prep also connects professionally with Northern Arizona State University in Flagstaff. The Flagstaff campus is a center for training Multiage Teachers and once again our school has been invited to present at the Southwest Multiage Conference in Flagstaff on October 13, 2012. Several of our teachers will be providing workshops for educators throughout Arizona at this conference. We are proud of the recognition our school is receiving and attribute it to hard work and dedication to an educational philosophy that is grounded in guiding children to construct their own learning and pursuing educational interests that are relevant and exciting for children. Way to go FAEP Staff. Keep up the good work.

Jim White, Principal-FAEP
