Muller opened the scoring in a rain-soaked Port Elizabeth before Edinson Cavani equalised for Uruguay, then Diego Forlan volleyed the South Americans in front before a goalkeeping error allowed Marcell Jansen to equalise.
A thrilling game - the most open contest of the World Cup - was finally decided when Sami Khedira headed home to give Germany their second third-place finish in consecutive tournaments.

Ajax striker Luis Suarez scored a brace as Uruguay beat Korea Rep 2-1 and march to the quarterfinal of World Cup. The South Americans opened the scoring jus after 8mins as Suarez scored from a tight angle. Chung-Yong Lee headed home from close range to make it 1-1. Then 10 mins from time Suarez produced magic as he scored his second of the game with a brilliant right-footed curler into the far post.

Suarez said: "We have been dreaming since this tournament started. The World Cup is the World Cup, we are all facing each other on an equal footing.Some teams start out as favourites, but my team is ready to fight hard."

Nelson Mandela pulled out of the ceremony at the last minute following the death of his 13 yr old daughter. The ceremony was superb nevertheless!
