Some have some great content, but just never get the traffic, others suffer from the opposite problem, great marketing and traffic generating techniques, but a dull and pointless website, that nobody ever comes back to.Here are a few important steps you can take to help make sure your website doesn’t fail.Step 1. Pick a good idea.This should be obvious, but really think about it before you start your site. Once you get your website launched, its not exactly easy to change everything that its about. So do plenty of research, and figure out exactly what you want your site to be about, and what the target audience should be.Step 2. Pick a good name!Another step that should be obvious, you need a good name for your website. Before you start up your site, open up notepad, brainstorm for an hour or so, and pick a really good memorable name for your site. At this point you should decide if you want to buy a .com for your new site, or if you just want to use a free service that gives you a subdomain. If you have a good site idea, I highly suggest you spend the 8 dollars to get a .com! ...

read more | digg story

How to add Google AdSense to each post in Blogger blog

You need to put Google AdSense to each post in your Blogger blog, if you want to earn money on your blog. While the writing of these posts is anything but passive (more on that later) the great thing about it is that even after those posts drop off the front page of a blog they continue to have earning potential.

read more | digg story

Make Money Online Using Free Hosting Websites

This is a very unique way to earn a lot of money online using free hosting websites.

read more | digg story

top 100 blogs

# 1.Engadget
* By WeblogsInc
* http://www.engadget.com
* Authority: 25,118#

2.Gizmodo, the Gadget Guide
* http://gizmodo.com
* Authority: 23,632#

3.Techcrunch
* By Michael Arrington
* http://www.techcrunch.com
* Authority: 23,300

# 4.Breaking News and Opinion on The Huffington Post
* By Arianna Huffington
* http://huffingtonpost.com
* Authority: 20,981

# 5.Boing BoingBoing Boing is a weblog of cultural curiosities and interesting technologies. But they never tell you that it no longer matters once you take a job and work for someone else. Employees are supposed to have the opinion that the Company has, and cease to exist in and of themselves.....

read more | digg story

Check your web site's status on Google

If you've just started a web site or you're wondering where your blog's at in the search engine department, run the URL through the Google Site Status Wizard.

read more | digg story

The Monster List of Freelancing Job Sites

When it comes to freelancing, one of the biggest challenges can be finding work. Even the most successful of freelancers will experience a lean month here and there, so it pays to have as many sources of potential work as possible. That’s why we’ve compiled a monster list of job sites from around the net. There is sure to be a site in here that is listing a job tailor made for you!Before we get to the list though I would like to mention that as FreelanceSwitch is fast becoming the destination of choice for freelancers we will be adding our own job board for listing freelance gigs. It’s arriving in a fortnight and for the first three months job listings will be totally free of charge to help get the board running.As with all our lists if we’ve missed a crucial resource, please do send it in, or add it to the comments. We go through these lists every week or so and add in new resources to keep them up to date. Also you will find that we have tagged each site by the types of freelancers who will find it useful as well as the locations it may be applicable for. And now without further ado, here they are:Traditional Job ListingsThese are your bread’n'butter job classifieds, sites from around the web…

read more | digg story

10 great Web site designs/redesigns of 2007

These are some of our favorite new designs, and redesigns from 2007. Because of the unusual name, people tend to think unpleasant things when they hear the word “blog”. Is it a murky mixture of sand, water and dirt?Blogs are like bulletin boards in the internet that are updated regularly, often in a daily basis. The contents of blogs are information about a specific topic, or in some types of blogs, people sometimes use them as a journal or diaries where they put in the details of their personal lives, their opinions about certain topics and even social commentaries. To put this in simple terms, blogs are used by the person who created the blog anyway he or she wants them to be. The creator of a certain blog is the author and its his or her responsibility to provide the contents.To start or create a blog, here’s a few guidelines to get readers to actually read your blogs.

read more | digg story

10 lesson learned in Blogging

Lesson Learn While Driving My Car and Applying to Internet Blogging and MarketingThis is just a comparison in between Blogging and Driving A Car,The moment you sit on your car usually the following question is being asked by the driver to himself : 1. If you are a regular blogger then you might have used the ScribeFire Firefox addon. But Windows Live Writer is not just an addon its a full fledged blogging platform with many blog rich features. The features are fully in synch with the Wordpress platform.

The best part of blogging in Live Writer is that, it has a facility of providing you the actual template from the blog layout while you blog. This makes you feel as if you are directly writing on your blog layout than in the standard Wordpress TinyMCE editor.

read all

Improving Your Blog Performance

How many times have people said that your website is too slow and you found out that there is nothing you can do to improve its performance? The final option most of the times might have been either trying to change your hosting server (may be even blaming him for purposely slowing your website) or finding several ways to optimize your code.
Over last few months I have been facing this same problem. I browsed the web for answers, even went ahead and bought many books on Website Optimization. All of them more or less targeted the same issue of caching static contents using additional third party tools which improvises upon browser caching thus getting better performance and all that sort of stuff.

read all

10 Most Amazing Google Search Tricks

Searching on Google can be a magical experience once you find out how to make your search queries efficient.

read more | digg story

10 great free downloads for your network

Whether you've got a home network, small network, enterprise network or anything in between, these 10 freebies can make it more secure, run better and easier to manage.
