I was browsing around Anthropologie the other day when I saw these gorgeous dishes. I thought, hmm, I should put these on my blog. Then I thought, hmm, I wonder when was the last time I even blogged?! So I went to look and it had been a year!
Of course, I was pregnant and had a baby during that time period, so a lot of things got put on hold. But, I am home now nursing and caring for my little bundle of joy. And I have time to blog!

Let's Have a Party

First, we need this fabulous tea kettle from Michael Graves. Look at that adorable spout!

Next, we need some super cute teabag caddies to hold our used teabags. I really like these little birds from Stash Tea.

Now all that's left are some snacks and the perfect tea. For the snacks, you really should invest in this adorable cookie cutter from Copper Gifts. You can make cookies, and you can also make little bird shaped sandwiches. (recipe: spread some chicken salad between two slices of bread, cut and serve!)

So, pull out the kettle and get that water boiling. If you like black teas, my favorite is Lavender Earl Grey from Revolution. If you like green teas, you better ask my cousin, 'cause she's the expert in that field.

Ok, so this doll absolutely does not fit into my bird theme, but it is so freaking adorable that I had to blog about it anyways. Can you believe it's entirely hand embroidered? I just started embroidering last night (I wanted to keep my hands busy while watching hours and hours of Gossip Girl with Kevin!!) The doll is just beautiful, isn't she? I love all the facial details, especially the little cheeks. Whew, I can attest that this must be a lot of work. It took me two whole episodes just to spell out my name.

Organization

Kevin and I spent the weekend cleaning out our basement. My studio is down there, but the washer/dryer and all his "man tools" were really starting to squeeze me out. So, yesterday we moved out a ton of stuff, and today we are organizing like crazy. My goal is to get my sewing machine and iron-rite down there. I think this pincushion will go perfectly in my newly clean space!

Yesterday I got my first Christmas card in the mail. I was totally impressed that this friend had herself so prepared she got them out before Thanksgiving, picture and all!

So, you need to throw a costume together for tonight? This Alfred Hitchcock inspired Bird Suit is quick and easy.

Directions: Cut out some bird shapes from black paper. Get some hot glue and attach them to your suit. Don't worry! Hot glue peels off once it's dry.
*Tip: practice your cheesy scared face in the mirror before your grand entrance
