Sarinah and Sonnel has a Miami Beach Wedding located at The Palms Hotel. Since the wedding was right on the beach, we had no shortage of beautiful surroundings to take photographs. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Sarinah got her gown from Priscilla of Boston.  Since it was shorter than a traditional wedding gown, it gave a great opportunity to show off her fabulous shoes!!

This is the moment that Sonnel first saw his bride.  <3

The cake was amazing!!  You can’t go wrong with lime green!!  Granted, I could be biased!

I told Sarinah I wanted her to give me sexy and sultry, and she claimed she didn’t know how to do that.  ha ha!!  YEA RIGHT!!  How hot is she??

The beach was pitch black when we went out and decided to do portraits there.  So what did we do??  We made our own light!  And I think the portraits turned out fabulous!

This is by far my favorite photo of the night!  We turned the back patio of the hotel into a studio and Sarinah & Sonnel rocked it!!

Yesterday was a blur.  The surgery went great.  The doctor was pleased.  My mom looked fabulous despite everything she had been through.  She’s a trooper.  The strongest woman I know.  Even in the fog of anesthesia, she was still more concerned about those around her than herself.  Knowing my mother, that wasn’t a surprise to me.  By the time I got home, I felt exhausted.  I’d done nothing but sit and wait, sit and wait, all day long, but emotionally, I was drained.

I’ll be a little out of touch this week.  I have been assigned the task of nurse, to help my mom recover.  I couldn’t be more proud.  My mom means everything to me, and I am thankful to have her in my life.

I love you, Mother!!

I must say, Sarinah and Sonnel shocked me the first second of the session, and here’s why:

“It just looked like you” she told me as I opened the gift.  I was stunned!  Its the first time I’ve ever showed up to a shoot and the client had a gift for me!  And look at how BEAUTIFUL it is!  A starfish necklace!!  I wonder if Sarinah and Sonnel noticed I was holding back tears when I hugged them.  It was so incredibly sweet and thoughtful!

Sarinah and Sonnel are one of the most fun couples I’ve ever had!  They did nothing but laugh the entire time which made it easy to get great photographs!  It was so hard to pick out which ones to post to the blog, but here are a few of my favorites:

After we were done at Merrick Park, we headed to Key Biscayne for some sexy beach shots.  I had originally asked Sarinah if they would be willing to get wet, and I was thrilled when she said they were up for it.  However, I have a feeling she had no idea just HOW wet I was going to make them get!

By far one of my favorite shots of the entire session!  And it was exactly how I had envisioned!

Sonnel, you are a STUD!

Sarinah and Sonnel were such great sports!  They were game for everything I threw at them!!  I can’t wait for their wedding in August!

Are you sure you are getting the same quality from the pharmacy up the street as you would from your local professional photographer?  I mean, you get the prints back, and they look ok, right?  But are you sure they couldn’t look better?  If you are anything like my mother, you are thinking I’m crazy.  She’s gotten her prints done at the local Walgreens or CVS for years!  She claims she’s never had any problems.  I tell her the color is bad, and she says I’m crazy, so how a bout a little test??

I took the same exact image from a recent wedding, sent one to my professional lab I use for all my customers, and sent one to Walgreens one hour photo.  Both experiences were pleasurable.  The pro lab I always use had the same exceptional customer service they always do.  The Walgreens I went to got me my print in less time than they quoted.  But the true test came, when I saw both photos side by side…

This photo has in now way been enhanced.  I didn’t change the color, or do some photoshop trick.  I didn’t take it using fancy equipment, with off camera lighting tricks like gels.  I simply put these two prints side by side on my kitchen table and took a snapshot.  I took that snapshot, slapped my logo on it, and put it on the blog.  Do you notice that the photo on the left has a green tint to it?  See the warmth in the skin tones on the photo on the right?  Let me ask you, which one do you like better?  Would you like to look like Kermit the Frog in your wedding photos or would you like to look like all those tanning trips to the beach weeks before your big day actually paid off?

And why in the world would you spend so much money on a photographer, and then take those priceless images and have them processed at WalMart?  You are going to spend thousands on a wedding photographer and then buy cheap, Kermit the Frog prints for $.42 cents?  Why pay for quality to begin?

I showed these images to my mother after our debate, and she admitted that she could see a difference (rather reluctantly, I might add).

I realize that there are still people out there that are going to want to files.  That’s why I sell them.  I just hope that when you take your files to your local pharmacy, you aren’t disappointed.
