&lt;p&gt;Taken whilst waiting for the right light to come along for the recent &lt;a href="http://blog.formidablephotography.com/for-england/"&gt;Engineering building England flag shot&lt;/a&gt; &amp;#8211; it was a lovely evening to be sat on the plaza at the Cathedral, that end of town is so quiet at night time, a total contrast to how busy it is during the day.  It would have been nice to get somebody in shot for a sense of scale but I sat there for an hour at least and no-one went past.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I noticed this England flag earlier in the week &amp;#8211; it&amp;#8217;s on top of a massive scrap heap on the outskirts of Widnes.  Anyone who saw England&amp;#8217;s first two games might think there&amp;#8217;s some sort of symbolism involved here but whoever went up there and planted is a braver man than me &amp;#8211; I&amp;#8217;ve posted a few pics so you can get an idea of how big it is.  Wanted to get it posted before Sunday &amp;#8211; come on England!  And even if we don&amp;#8217;t win, we can at least console ourselves we&amp;#8217;re not Italian.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;3rd in the series of reflections &amp;#8211; this was one of those occasions when you get a lot of funny looks &amp;#8211; if people can obviously see what you&amp;#8217;re taking a photo of then they don&amp;#8217;t seem to mind much but if it&amp;#8217;s not immediately obvious, like here where it appeared I was taking a photo of a corner of a window of an empty shop, it really confuses people.  Definitely a location with scope for more shots this one.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you&amp;#8217;re in the St.Helens area, I&amp;#8217;ve got some prints showing at a &lt;a href="http://www.mashgallery.co.uk/" target="_blank"&gt;new gallery opening there &amp;#8211; the Mash gallery&lt;/a&gt; is open from Thursday daytime onwards &amp;#8211; they&amp;#8217;re just around the corner from the railway station, on Haydock Street.  It&amp;#8217;s a great space and I&amp;#8217;m really excited to be displaying there.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I took the opportunity of being in Liverpool city centre on a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon to take some reflection shots &amp;#8211; the combination of good weather and being the weekend at the same time compelled me to make a special effort!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve tried to avoid my typical symmetrical shots and go for something a little more left or right of centre &amp;#8211; this is the first in a series of four, all reflections, all black and white.&lt;/p&gt;
