Town Hall Reflection

The Town Hall reflected in a shop window – I’m using this shot as a cunning ploy to mention that if you’re in Liverpool for Light Night then you really should come down to my Reflections of Liverpool exhibition at Wong’s Jewellers, in assocation with dot-art – we’re open from 4pm till 9pm – please come down and say hello! If you can’t get down tonight, the exhibition is on for the next week.

I visited Salford Quays for the first time last week – the weather was a bit foul and I didn’t have a lot of time to spare so I only got these few shots – very interesting location that I’ll definitely be back to shoot.

Bridlington – A British Seaside Town

Third and last in the series of images from Bridlington (images from Bridlington harbour are here and Bridlington landscape images are here), With these images I was trying to capture some of the typical sights around a British seaside town and (not typically for me) trying to capture them in a brighter, more optimistic light. It’s a lovely town, a great place to spend a windy spring afternoon and I look forward to getting back there again soon.

Bridlington – Harbour

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in Bridlington on the east Yorkshire coast over the weekend – it’s a nice little town with an active harbour, lovely views and some typical seaside town features. So that’s how I’m going to split the photos from there – harbour, landscapes and British seaside.

These are the harbour photos, in case you hadn’t guessed – the weather was pretty rotten but there was still plenty of people either fishing or braving the gusts for a walk (and disobedient seagulls.)

Sea Odyssey – Giant Uncle

I had originally planned on attending the Sea Odyssey event purely to spectate, just to enjoy it and not take the camera….as per usual, I changed my mind! So these shots are a little more crowdy than I would have liked and it also occurred to me that I hadn’t done any black and white work for a while so I’ve gone down that road with the processing.

The Odyssey was a brilliant spectacle, incredible to see something so unique on the streets of Liverpool!

Sea Odyssey – Sleeping Giants

I was working on Friday so didn’t get chance to see the first day of Sea Odyssey so I got up early in the Saturday morning gloom to see if I could catch them sleeping. I figured given the crowds yesterday that this would be one of the few chances today to get up close and personal. The attention to detail on the giants is astonishing, especially on the giant uncle. I’m planning to get out later to get some more shots – fingers crossed the weather holds!
