With Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Fabregas out of the Arsenal team, Wenger hasn't left with many super stars to compliment in his gunners side. However, the 2010 FIFA world cup finalist Dutchman Robin Van Persie received
much of the praise after their game against Bolton when he scored a brace to capture a thrilling 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium. That takes his goals tally to 100 for the Arsenal team since joining in 2004 from the Dutch club Feyenoord.

Wenger compared him to the Argentine maestro Lionel Messi, and claimed that like Messi, Van Persie doesn't play as a lone striker, runs in deep and has a good eye for goal.

However, reports suggest that the Dutchman held his contract upgradation talks with the club officials for some reason or the other, which might lead to speculation rumors of him leaving the club in the next few transfer windows.

After two successive draws, one in La Liga and the other in the Champions League game against AC Milan, the fans were looking forward to the game against Osasuna at home. This was when Pep Guardiola planned to go all guns blazing
against the Los Rojillos, The Reds. As usual, his squad responded with a spectacular performance at home to display a spectacle for the home fans in the form of 8 goals with a clean sheet. The multiple Ballon d'Or winner Argentine Lionel Messi scored a hat trick with two assists, Fabregas scored one and provided three assists, Xavi scored one while Villa claimed a brace. An additional own goal by Roversio gave the Catalan giants a whopping 8-0 win over Los Rojillos.

This scoreline helps Barcelona to second position in the league standings. However, Betis and Real Madrid can overtake them if they win their league outings this weekend.

Ferrari Focus: 2012

The season progresses, and with the championship title edging even closer towards the Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, many teams have now stopped developing their 2011 car and instead switched focus for the 2012 season. Title contenders such as Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Mark Webber and Jenson Button all concede
that the rest of the season is more of a battle for pride and race wins rather than the drivers title, as Sebastian Vettel is already 112 points ahead of his nearest title challenger Fernando Alonso with 8 wins out of 13 rounds so far.

Meanwhile, Ferrari have stopped developing updates for their 2011 car, and instead switched all of their focus on to the 2012 campaign of the FIA Formula 1 championship. This doesn't come as much of a surprise for the F1 world who expected alot more from Ferrari than their single race win in the season so far.

With the title glory being only for Vettel to lose, it seems appropriate and justified to get a head start for the 2012 season, when Ferrari hope to be alot more competitive.

The Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb found Real Madrid too hot to handle as for only the third time ever
did the Madridistas saw their players in red jerseys. Despite being a man down, Real Madrid kept their lead after the 53' minute goal by Angel Di Maria and eventually took an important 1-0 road win.

However, it was no easy contest for the Galacticos. The packed stadium had enough passionate crowd who would shout and whistle every time Real Madrid were in possession of the ball, proving to be the twelfth player for their home heroes. Some of the best plays of the match were exhibited by the 6'5" Dinamo goalie whose countless saves kept giving Dinamo a hope to fight all the way.

Despite all the efforts, and with some brilliant defensive plays by Real Madrid, it would be safe to say that the red hot Real Madrid team was entitled to win this clash with their footballing supremacy.

After the Singapore grand prix, Sam Micheal will be joining McLaren as their sporting director. Having resigned from Williams as a technical director in may 2011, he had been looking for
a new challenge, and what better than to manage and develop race operations for one of the most successful teams of the sport, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.
McLaren's team Principal Martin Witmarsh called this new appointment as "important", as he hopes to get "invaluable blend of experience and expertise."
Michael began his race career in 1993 with lotus ,later joined Jordan for two years .He moved to Williams in 2001 and he became their technical director in 2004.

In the mid week champions league encounter against Leverkusen, Fernando Torres came in with a point to prove to his Chelsea manager and team mates, to whom he allegedly called
slow and old in an interview. Though his goal drought continues, he was pretty much a man of the match with his two assists last night.

Fernando Torres' contribution last night not only eased the tensions in the Chelsea changing rooms but also gave fans another reason to cherish the opportunity of supporting one of the best strikers in the world. It remains to be seen, however, if the 79 million dollar man himself is able to score enough goals this campaign.

One of the most sought after youngsters of this footballing generation, Neymar da'Silva Jr. appears to be more than willing to stay at his current club, Santos as he's near to sign a one year contract extension with his current club.
With Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid all chasing for his signature in the next transfer window, it seems that Santos are willing to do all they can to keep their youngster in Brazil till the year 2016.

The European big guns, however, wont mind setting up an outrageous bid for the Brazilian wonder kid, but for this year atleast, the move seems to be unlikely.

The Spanish striker damages his popularity in the manager's view with his recent speech against his Chelsea squad. The 27 year old reported to have called his Chelsea team mates "play very slowly" in an interview on his official website. Torres, however, defends himself claiming that the online publication have misquoted him. Chelsea, who spent some $79 million dollars to buy the 2010 world cup winner from Liverpool who so far has only scored one goal in 18 premier league outings for them, have taken into account the Spaniard's outburst against his team mates. Even the manager has stepped out to say "We are going in depth to regain the tape of that interview"..."We will see if things play exactly as they are in that interview."

It would be interesting to see if he's kept on the bench tonight in their Champions League clash against Leverkusen. With Drogba out due to injury and Sturridge in good form, it wont be difficult for the manager to keep Torres on the bench tonight.

Wayne Rooney once again proved to be a league apart as the Bolton defense remained unable to defend their goal on many occasions. Two more by Chicharito helped United display a thriller for the away fans, something the home fans never hoped for. Unite keeper David De Gea had little to do as the Bolton attack couldn't really beat United's strong defense to test the 20 year old. all in all, the game was a spectacle for the footballing fans around the world.

Another race, another pole and another victory for the Red Bull champion, Sebastian Vettel; driving nearer to the glory of winning the second FIA Formula 1 championship to become
the youngest ever double world champion. With his nearest championship rival, team mate Mark Webber crashing out of the race with an incident with Felipe Massa of Ferrari, the German looks to seal the 2011 F1 drivers title with a few rounds to spare as he is now already 112 points ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Much of his success is down to his team Red Bull for producing a car way ahead of the pack, unlike his team mate though, the German has been able to bring the maximum out of his machine. With only a few round to spare, glory seems to be inevitable for the youngest ever Formula 1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel.

This weekend's Formula 1 Gran Premio Santander D'Italia at Monza was filled with epic slipstreaming battles, as predicted. The most notable was certainly the one between two great talents of the sport, Lewis Hamilton and Micheal Schumacher.

In a battle that lasted for nearly half the race, the pacy Brit remained unable to overtake the seven times Formula 1 world champion, Schumacher. However, with the fresh tyres on, Lewis Hamilton was too hot a talent to keep behind, for Schumacher, who had to eventually concede the position to the McLaren driver. the race ended as Lewis finishing fourth, and the German Schumacher finishing fifth.

Barcelona Held, Madrid Shine

This weekend's match day two saw Real Sociedad hosting the spanish giants FC Barcelona while the Madrid derby was held at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu where Real Madrid hosted Getafe. The shock of the weekend came
as Real Sociedad scored twice after trailing 0-2 against one of the best teams of Europe in the shape of Barcelona, ended up in stealing a point from the game as the star studded in a match that ended 2-2.

At the other end of Spain, in Madrid, Real Madrid hosted their city rivals Getafe. In a six goal thriller, Real Madrid Scored four against a passionate Getafe side who only managed 2. the match ended at 4-2 in favour of the hosts.

A brace from the French speedster Franck Ribery, four by Mario Gomez and another by the substitute Nils Petersen gave the Bavarian giants a 7-0 victory against the visiting side. Bayern took
early lead as Toni Kroos set up Mario Gomez within ten minutes and by the half time, Ribery had already scored two more. Our Man of the Match award would surely go to Gomez who scored three more in the second half, while Petersen added one more to produce a spectacle for the home fans.

Ahead of their Champions League game against Villa Real, the Munich players have gained enough confidence that could help them produce a similar performance in the European competition.

Sebastian Vettel wins yet another pole position in the 2011 FIA Formula 1 championship series in front of thousands of Italian fans who were hoping to see their scarlet Ferraris out in the front row in their home grand prix. Only this time, however,
the McLarens of the British duo Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button were not very far behind. The Brits managed second and third respectively, while the 2010 Italian GP race winner Fernando Alonso managed fourth for his Ferrari supporters. Mark Webber couldn't quite bring the best out of his Red Bull as he came home with fifth position on the starting grid for tomorrow's race ahead of Massa, Petrov, Schumacher, Rosberg and Senna who complete the top ten line up.

Hamilton still is hoping to finish at the top step of the podium, "It is a long race tomorrow. The target is to finish. In the race I think we will be able to finish up quite high," he said.

However, with the McLarens dominating for most part of the Friday Practice sessions, the Italian petrolheads look for epic slipstreaming battles of the yesteryear
as they cheer for the Ferrari duo of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa who haven't been far behind chasing the pacy Red Bulls either.

With the introduction of two DRS zones, and the KERS technology to aid overtaking, the fans around the world expect nothing but a spectacular race this weekend. The championship contenders are just as eager.
