Trivia Night with the Fort Smith Board of Realtors has turned out to be a huge success for raising money for Special Olympics.  Last year’s event raised $14,000.
This year, an amazing $19,000 was raised!!
People got teams together for an evening of fun in support of a great cause; Special Olympics!  Even in a struggling economy, it’s great to see people come out and continue to give freely with their time and money.
Trivia Night is one event the Fort Smith Board of Realtors supports for Special Olympics.  Last year, the FSBOR raised almost $25,000 for the organization, and was one of the largest board contributors in the state!
I am positive we will raise more that $25,000 this year!
The Fort Smith Board of Realtors have raised a lot of money for the Special Olympics, but we know our job is not complete.  We’ve got more events during the year to build upon our current amount.  So many lives have been positively influenced through such efforts.  You can do your part and donate to Special Olympics!
I would really like to thank Brenda Garrett with Bradford and Udouj Realtors!  Brenda takes great ownership as our Chairperson for Special Olympics.  Her passion and commitment is a testament.  “Good People, Can Do Great Things!”  The Fort Smith Board of Realtors could NOT have a better Ambassador for Special Olympics than Brenda Garrett.   Thanks Brenda!!!

      <title>Multiple Offers, a Myth in Fort Smith Real Estate Market??</title>

That was a couple of years ago, and everyone loved it.
Are those days long gone?  Not totally!
The Fort Smith Real Estate Market still has some very competitive homes on the market, and the Fort Smith Housing Market is getting better.
I just listed a house.  A few days later.  Baam!!!  Kaboom!!!  Multiple offers on the table and I’ve got a seller that has some decisions to make!!!  Problem?  That’s a good problem to have!
Home sales in Fort Smith are down, but not drastically.
If your home is on the market in the Fort Smith area, it is vital that you POSITION your home to sell!  You’ve got to do more than just slap a coat of paint on the wall.  You’ve got to do more than just plant some flowers in the front yard.  My good friend, Lynda Eisenmann has an awesome Blog post pertaining to Position vs. Pricing.
You’ve got to POSITION  yourself ahead of your competition!  The pricing of your home is very important, but in a difficult market, you’ve got to do everything you can to POSITION your more effectively in a competitive market.  You have to POSITION ahead of of your competitors with: Price, Condition, Appeal, and Value.  I will cover these key components in a future post.

      <description>The Fort Smith Real Estate Market has had it's fair share of ups and downs just like any market. Southfield Heights in Fort Smith has stayed relatively steady.       <title>Is Life Really Good???  Life IS Good!</title>
      <description>Sometimes Life just stinks!  Your business is suffering.  Your personal life is in the toilet.  You debate whether to fill up your gas tank or feed your family.  Is Life Really Good???  Yes it is!!!
Your life/business being good or bad begins with YOU!  It is all how you look at it.  Gas is too high!  Well you could be walking 15 miles in 95 degree heat.  Food prices are outrageous!  You could be going to bed starving every night.  The roof is leaking!  You could be living on the streets.  It's your outlook, perception, it's just how YOU look at it.  Life is Good!
Start with you:  Get up off the ground and dust the dirt off your butt.  Change your attitude and begin thinking positive.  Wake up and say "Life is Good" or whatever your motivational saying that exists at the very core of your soul.
Believe IT:   You've got to believe the positive nourishment you're feeding your body, or else it's all null and void.  It simply won't work.  You can't fool yourself.  If you don't believe in yourself and your own philosophy, how can you expect anyone else to?  If you buy into "The Market is Horrible."  You will begin to believe it and your daily actions will be reflective of a slowing market.  Life is Good!
Practice IT:  You've got to believe the positive nourishment you're feeding your body, or else it's all null and void.  You've got to Practice at being more positive.  It's not going to happen over night.  Yes, you can be conditioned to be negative, and so many are.  Tiger Woods is by far one of the best Golfers the world has ever seen.  Yes, he practices!  Do you think he goes up and thinks I can't make this shot???  Heck no!!!  Life is Good!
Embrace IT:  You've got to "talk the talk, and walk the walk!"  Get away from the negative people, news, or anything that does not have a positive influence on your life.  If someone's down, lift them up.  You may need that encouragement someday.  Becoming more positive will attract more positive things into your life.  Smile!!!  You will begin to see positive things in your life and your business.  Life is Good!
Take IT home:  You've spent the entire day being positive, and encouraging to everyone else.  You're tired, drained, and you can't give anymore.  Wrong.  Take it home!  Keep the most powerful of your positive vibes for your "Loved One's!"  They deserve it the most.  They are there for you through the good and the bad.  Don't cheat them!!  Chat, play, love, and laugh until your heart is filled with joy.  It will be much easier to jump start tomorrow.  Life is Good! &lt;img src="https://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/5/8/3/8/3/ar121450205638385.jpg" style="float: right;border: black 2px solid;"&gt;

The Self Guided Walking Tours of the Historical Belle Grove District begins May 17th.  The first 20 walkers get free pedometers.  Pick up maps and neighborhood tour information at Clayton House. Free but donations welcome.  The scheduled walks are Wednesdays-Saturdays Noon to 4 p.m. &amp;amp; Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Clayton House, 514 North 6th Street, Fort Smith, Ark. 479-783-3000
The Clayton House is named after William Henry Harrison Clayton who served as a Prosecuting Attorney for Judge Isaac Parker.  Prosecuting over 10,000 cases in Judge Parker's Court, Clayton convicted more than 80 men charged with murder, an unparalleled record. He was re-appointed by President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1897.  His home was built in the 1850's and he and his family moved into the home in 1876.  There's some rich history in our area.  I am more than willing to help you to make Fort Smith, Arkansas your HOME!

The 75th Annual Old Fort Days Rodeo comes back to Fort Smith, Arkansas May 26 through May 31, 2008.  Get ready for some fun entertainment at a super fast pace!!  This year promises to be better than years before with:  Calf Roping, Barrel Racing, Wild Horse Racing, Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, the Old Fort Days Dandies, and Bull Riding.
There are so many Amazing Events to attend, and your eyes won't believe what they've seen!!!  You can purchase tickets online.  You can't forget to get the opportunity to see the great Old Fort Days Dandies!  This precision riding team made up of high school age young ladies from around the area. These riders are famous for superior riding skills, horsemanship, scholastic achievement and character.  It amazing to see the young ladies perform with grace and agility.
This is a great event for any and all to attend.  So Cowboy or Cowgirl up, and get out and join thousand of others to see Clowns and Bullfighters.  These are all events that I am a much better spectator than a participant!!  Get out to the Old Fort Days Rodeo and have some fun in the great Fort Smith, Arkansas!!
