Brussels Mediaclusters / Brussels media survey

"Media Clusters Brussels" is a research project interested in studying the dynamics of the media sector in Brussels, and particularly the social and geographical ties between media individuals, media companies, media communities, etc. (hence the "cluster reference").

They have launched a survey for communications professionals in Belgium, mainly working in the media sector or producing media (journalists, producers, advertisers, PR specialists, internal and external communicators, business communicators, etc.)

Participate to next WMA Group survey on the state of comms and the job market

Hi everyone,

In 2013, VMA Group - a global recruitment and training specialist for corporate and marketing communications - published a report which researched the European communications labour market, with a particular focus on Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Germany.

The report focused on exploring why communications professionals seek new career opportunities, and just as importantly, why they remain in existing roles. Within the report VMA Group also investigated the influence of location, job role, sector and industry on how these decisions are made.

IABC and VMA Group have partnered to prepare the next report which will be published in early 2015.

The report aims to take a long-term picture of trends and issues affecting the communications industry, and we are keen to get your thoughts for the next edition of the report. The next report will focus not just on the above mentioned countries but other countries in continental Europe.

The survey should take now longer than 10 minutes to complete. It is, of course, completely confidential.

TEDxBrussels speakers

I have a friend (John Niland, www.johnniland.com) who is interested in getting some stage time to present a talk on 'Energising people' for the next event. Tony Lockett is leaving Brussels and heading to the US

As some of the members of this network might recall, Tony joined IABC in an open Beer, Web2EU event last year talking about the EU and it's social media policy and approach, with several others (see my post about it:http://blog.zn.be/2010/public-affairs/more-openbeer-for-web2eu/ ).

In a blog post he wrote last week, Tony said that he was leaving for Washington and recalled his discussion with us at Web2EU, and how the EU has evolved regarding it's use of social media. He was asking for input and insights so I thought I would share his post with this community:

Belgium's best blogger - Is that you?!

Hi all,

A close contact from zooppa.com has asked me for help in identifying talented bloggers in Belgium as potential candidates for covering the London Olympics as part of a contest in partnership with Samsung.

This is the gist:

Samsung is looking for an awesome blogger to send to the London 2012 Olympics, and to report on the Games in their own unique style. It's an all-expenses-paid trip and I am looking for candidates from Belgium, bloggers who are interested in Sports or Travel or maybe they are students! In addition to the Grand Prize, the blogger can win the $5,000 top prize for Best Blogger and other cash prizes for Belgium (14 countries are in the competition). The reports will be in English.
