We call this variations as cultural diversity. It exists among nations which pertains to a society having the same ethnical features, backgrounds, and perspectives. The Europeans, for instance, differ from Africans in terms of skin complexion. Same way that Americans has a different language compared to Asians. With these differences, is there anyway to unite all people?

Language is one tool for communication. Communication is a process of sending and receiving information by a sender and a respondent. Therefore, language is very important to us. Imagine the kind of world we would be in without the media we call language!

Philippines has Filipino, China has Mandarin or Fookien, Japan has Nihonggo or Japanese, and Americans has English. With these differences, how on earth can we be able to communicate with each other?

Of course, there should be that one uniform and standard language that has to be learned and used by everyone to conquer language barriers and allow progress and development. That is where English, the universal language, comes in.

englishforums.com<ng:postId>6003715932</ng:postId><ng:feedId>2901987</ng:feedId><ng:folderId>6424711</ng:folderId><ng:folder ng:id="6424711" ng:flagState="0" ng:annotation="" />

Best City for Children

Forum: Family Children

I currently teach 8th grade Social Studies (taught Science last year) in central Florida and I will complete the requirements for my Professional Certification at the end of this school year.
Most of the sites I have visited mention that you need a clean criminal record; unfortunately I do have a few bumps on my record. While these issues did not prevent me becoming a teacher here in Florida, I am a bit concerned that it may exclude me from employment in Korea. I have 4 misdemeanors on my record, 3 for underage drinking (more than 15 years ago) and one for battery (altercation with my brother almost 6 years ago). I had an online national records search done and only the battery shows up; will be having a search done at the county sheriff's office next week to see what they show.
I also spoke with the Korean Consulate today and explained the situation to them and they do not believe this will be an issue at all. I have also spoken with two separate recruiting agencies and they both told me that I could not be employed, so I am a bit confused here. Do you think these would be an issue for me trying to gain employment in Korea?

Thanks,

RW

Korea Related Topics<ng:postId>5993756230</ng:postId><ng:feedId>2391691</ng:feedId><ng:folderId>6424711</ng:folderId><ng:folder ng:id="6424711" ng:flagState="0" ng:annotation="" />

How to Teach ESL Online

Comment by netguevarra published on 9/28/2008

This item provided by eHow - Careers & Work How To's

NewsGator: Keyword search for esl<ng:postId>5986767093</ng:postId><ng:feedId>2113321</ng:feedId><ng:folderId>6424711</ng:folderId><ng:folder ng:id="6424711" ng:flagState="0" ng:annotation="" />

English Studio: What is it like to be an EFL Teacher in Argentina?Join the ??TEFL in Argentina?? Agree and the technology will not always make the lesson better. I've been harping on this for several years at this space and others. I don't really have an explanation for this other than to reiterate what I have often said about schools in China that think their 'advertising' dollar can go much farther with a blonde hair blue eyed teacher. Are there Africans teaching in China. Sure, there are many. But I do not believe that they receive the same treatment as other foreign teachers which is really a shame.

Use these 7 steps for successful global collaboration

The flat classroom concept is based on the constructivist principle of a multi-modal learning environment that is student-centered and a level playing field for teacher to student and student to teacher interaction. Based on the experiences of the award winning Flat Classroom Project (http://flatclassroomproject.wikispaces.com) this session will detail seven essential steps for lowering your classroom walls to promote connection and understanding between geographically dispersed, ethnically and culturally diverse groups of students in meaningful, global cooperative authentic learning experiences.
I recently set up a service offering one to one and small group business and general English classes to students. However, I'm finding it a challenge promoting and obtaining students abroad.

I understand there are language agents who assist in promoting schools services, but most of them are working with accredited schools. As a new service mine does not fall into that category.

Does anyone have any bright ideas about how I could lure either business people or students to my centre?

Also if anyone knows how I can contact language agents I'd be most grateful.

Many thanks for your help.:-)
