Extension of submission deadline

We received several requests to extend the submission deadline for fotoqrafika winter issue. We therefore decided to extend this until January 31 2012. Please forward this information to all people who might be interested.

"Fotoqrafika" recognised for contribution to Azerbaijan photography and received a special award at a "Photographer of the year - 2011" ceremony organized by the Azerbaijan Photographers Union.

Azərbaycan Fotoqrafları Birliyi (AFB) tərəfindən təsis edilmiş "İlin fotoqrafı - 2011" adlı mükafatlandırma mərasimində jurnalımız “Azərbaycan fotoqrafiya sənətinin təbliği və inkişafı istiqamətində verdiyi töhfəyə görə” fəxri diploma layiq görüldü!

Fotoqrafika - Winter Submission Announcement

Fotoqrafika magazine announces admission of the photographs for the third, winter issue. Deadline for submission of photos is December 20, 2011. We have made some changes to the submission rules and guidelines! More details about the new terms and participation rules are available here.

One more important update! The format of the magazine has changed. Fotoqrafika winter edition will come up with a new design and layout! We will be glad to receive your feedback and suggestions.

Submission guidelines

PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PHOTOS

By submitting the photographs to FOTOQRAFIKA eMagazine the photographer confirms that he/she is the author and the owner of the photographs. Photographs published in FOTOQRAFIKA eMagazine are the sole property of the contributing photographers and are copyrighted material. No image may be reproduced without the express written permission of its owner. No part of this publication may be reproduced in any form, electronic or mechanical without the prior written consent of the publisher.

Each photographer can submit up to 10 photos per issue.
Submit your photo as a 72dpi JPG file.
Resize your photo to 1,500 pixels at its longest dimension. Submit your images in high (80 - 100%) quality.
The maximum size for each photo is 1MB.

The photos should not have any frames, borders, text or watermarks. Photos that do not comply with the above specifications will not be published, and we will not contact photographers to inform them of photos that do not comply.

FOTOLARINIZI GÖNDƏRMƏDƏN ƏVVƏL QAYDALARLA DİQQƏTLƏ TANIŞ OLMAĞINIZ XAHİŞ OLUNUR

FOTOQRAFIKA eJurnalına fotolarını təqdim etməklə hər bir iştirakçı fotoların ona məxsus olmasını və müəllifliyini təsdiqləyir. FOTOQRAFIKA eJurnalında dərc edilən bütün fotolar müəlliflərinin müstəsna mülkiyyətidir və bütün müəllif hüquqları qorunur. Müəllifin yazılı razılığı olmadan jurnaldakı fotoları hər hansı bir formada istifadə etmək qadağandır. Jurnalın heç bir hissəsi tam və ya ayrılıqda hər hansı bir formada naşirin yazılı razılığı olmadan istifadə edilə bilməz.

Hər bir fotoqraf maksimum 10 ədəd foto göndərə bilər.
Fotolar 72 dpi JPG fayl formatında olmalıdır.
Fotoların uzun tərəfi 1500 piksel olmalı və yüksək keyfiyyətdə (80% - 100%) təqdim edilməlidir.
Faylın maksimal ölçüsü 1 MB-dan artıq olmamalıdır.

Fotoda çərcivə, loqo və ya hər hansı bir mətn olmamalıdır. Şərtlərə uyğun gəlməyən fotolar dərc edilməyəcək və müəllifə fotolarının texniki şərtlərə uyğun olmaması barədə məlumat göndərilməyəcək.

DOES FOTOQRAFIKA HAVE A PRINTED EDITION, OR IT EXISTS ONLY AS AN ONLINE PUBLICATION?

FOTOQRAFIKA magazine is published in PDF format only and is distributed only on the Internet.

HOW MUCH DOES FOTOQRAFIKA MAGAZINE COST?

FOTOQRAFIKA magazine is completely free to download.

HOW OFTEN IS FOTOQRAFIKA MAGAZINE PUBLISHED?

FOTOQRAFIKA magazine is published quarterly (4 issues per year), at the beginning of March, June, September and December.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD THE PHOTOS BE THAT I SUBMIT TO FOTOQRAFIKA MAGAZINE?

The size of the photos should be at least 1500 pixels on the longer side. The photos should not have any frames, borders, text or watermarks. Each submitted photo should be smaller than 1 MB. Photos that do not comply with the above specifications will not be published, and we will not contact photographers to inform them of photos that do not comply.

WHY DIDN’T YOU PUBLISH MY PHOTO, AND WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THAT IT WON’T BE PUBLISHED?

FOTOQRAFIKA magazine’s editorial team is not obliged to reply or justify its decision to publish or not publish any photo or project. Likewise, for the photos that the editorial team intends to publish, the photographer will not be notified with a confirmation, except for unique situations when contact is necessary. The reason for such a policy is the lack of time and manpower to process large volumes of e-mail.

IF YOU LIKE MY PHOTO, WHEN CAN I EXPECT IT TO BE PUBLISHED?

Due to translation, proofreading, and editing tasks, the editorial team tries to get as much of the material as possible well in advance. Therefore, there is no fixed time limit within which a certain photo will be published. For example, a particular photo might be a better thematic fit in a future issue.

WHO WILL OWN THE COPYRIGHT TO MY PHOTO?

You, the artist, will retain all rights to your image. By submitting your work to FOTOQRAFIKA, you grant us the ability to show it on the web, print it in our publications, and/or use it for promotional material.
