Monday is the new Saturday

My day off from work at the restaurant is usually Tuesday's, so my "weekend" is of course on Monday. Yesterday we went out on a double date with my cousin and her husband, and had the best time ever. Our date started at Hexagone where they had a delicious three course menu , after dinner we went to Searsucker and had a couple of drinks, if your ever there you have to try the "Pear Tree" cocktail, it's so good!

I paired my Vera Wang over the knee boots (that were a birthday gift from Jorgy) with this incredible electric blue "Divided" dress from H&M.

Mi día de descanso son los martes, por lo que me gusta aprovechar los lunes en la tarde para saliditas, cenitas, etc. Aprovechando que en San Diego esta semana es "Restaurant Week" cruzamos a cenar con mi prima y su esposo. Fuimos primero a Hexagone, un restaurante francés que no conocía y después fuimos a Searsucker por unos "drinks". Me sentí de vacacciones.

The Tree of Life

Last year I had the opportunity to truly enjoy art. I found my self in many different art venues throughout the year. I tried to upload as many pictures as possible. Today I was doing the equivalent of "spring cleaning" on my computer and found these beautiful works of art that I had not shared. The three pics below are at Art San Diego, the one on top is probably my favorite, I saw this beautiful "Tree of Life" at an art Galery in Tijuana (Galería arte2 56) last summer and couldn't stop thinking about it, so you can imagine my excitement when I found the picture in a random folder on my computer.

I have more picture's of last Sunday's birthday celebration. After Santo Tomás our next stop was Adobe Guadalupe (more Adobe pics here & here) where we had an early dinner reservation. As always the food was delicious. The scenery beautiful but the quality time we got to spent together was the best part.

Today is Vicky's birthday, yesterday was mine. To celebrate we went to "el Valle de Guadalupe", (which is one of my favorite places in the world, think Napa Valley with mexican charm, you can see previous Guadalupe outtings here).

At first I was a little nervous about the weather, because it has being very very cold lately. We all had layer, over layer, over layer of clothing (I wore a turtleneck under my sweater dress and my tights have a fleece lining), which wasn't really necessary because it turned out to be a nice sunny day. I think we all managed to look put together with all those layer's, which has always been a look very difficult for me to pull off, which is why I kept it simple, black boots, black tights, gray dress; basic and comfortable. I'm gonna have to take lessons from Susy on how to dress in winter, she always looks very fashionable with her colorful layers.

This was our first stop of the day, Santo Tomas's vineyard. I wanted to go some where else. My dad & Georgie decided on this place and at first I was not a happy camper, but as soon as I walked in I was glad they chose to stop here first. This place is beautiful and of course the wine is delicious. As you can see they have a beautiful wine tasting room, as soon as I walked in I was speechless, the place is beautiful. Susy tried to capture some of that beauty in these pictures, I hope you enjoy them.

Art San Diego

A about a month ago I went to Art San Diego and it was amazing. If you noticed my previous post was about: Entijuanarte, which was last weekend and was also incredible. Both events where art fairs, and both where experiences I'm glad I got a chance to be a part of, even though if it was just as an observer.

It is amazing how different artists find different way of expressing their emotions, and opinions through art. I hope I get the oportunity to attend more of these events.

Wedding Season

My favorite time of year is here. I love weddings, everyone is always dressed up, and ready to have fun.

Yesterday we attended a wedding that was filled with love, laughter, and dance moves, as you can see by the pictures above.

In 3 weeks we have another wedding, which I know is going to be as fun as yesterday's was.

I know the dress pictures aren't all that good. I'll try to do better, next time. But please, check out my sister's turquoise earrings, aren't they amazing?

Me fascinan las bodas. Ayer tuvimos una de una muy buena amiga y estuvo lo maximo. Hubo muchisimo ambiente. Todo mundo traia buena actitud y estaban listos para divertirse. Todos bailamos hasta ya no poder mas, cantamos, brincamos, todo el show. Como se podran dar cuenta en las fotos de arriba.

Le falle con la camara y solo tome unas cuantas fotos, ninguna de los "looks" completos. A la proxima habra un "post" mas completo (bueno eso espero).

Wine Research

I've posted a couple of times in the past about Valle de Guadalupe, and how my boyfriend and I enjoy our excursions to Mexico's wine country in Ensenada. With the restaurant we now have a perfect excuse to go there more often and do "wine research".

A couple of Saturday's ago we went to 3 Mujeres, Sol y Barro, Monte Xanic, Emevé, and had the best of times. The scenery is beautiful, the wine: delicious, and the people are so nice and inviting. At 3 Mujeres the owners where there, they'd just closed but they allowed us to stay for a while. We got to share a couple of glasses of wine with them, and even got to try there Grenache which isn't even for sale yet.

I have to start offf talking fashion:

Check out this beautiful green blouse, gorgeous right.

About two months ago my mother and I dedicated a whole afternoon to hunt for treasures in the basement, where we found a box of clothing from the early nineties, this shirt was one of those items. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. for starters, the color, if you've followed this blog for a while you have probably noticed I love bright colors, and where them frequently, so it's no surprise that this color, for me is perfection.

Check out the sleeves, aren't they beautiful? The fabric is silk so it's super comfy.

Moving on to the main subject of the day: THE RESTAURANT

Sister Friendship

Yesterday, we celebrated at a bridal shower for one of my cousin's. I really enjoy family events because I get to spend quality time with my sisters, in a festive setting. Yesterday my sister Bibi couldn't attend because my niece was sick, Sus wasn't feeling so good & left early, but I had a great time with Vicky!!!

I'm a little rusty on my blogging skills so you'll have to forgive me, I forgot to ask where her dress is from, I think it's H&M, but I'll get back to you on that. I also want to kick myself because I was wearing an amazing dress that was my mom's from the early 90's, I made a tiny adjustment to it (shortened the hem & turned it into a mini-dress) and didn't take a single picture of my look, which sucks because I'm sure you would've loved it. The good news (for me) is I have an excuse to wear it again.

So, I have to start off by apologizing for totally abandoning this blog for the past couple of months, there's a good reason for the recent neglect though:

I opened a restaurant, and I'm very excited about it. During the months leading up to the inauguration y lived in sneakers and jeans, not really blog worthy outfits. I was running around from place to place (I have to confess I've learned to enjoy Home Depot) and didn't have enough time to take pictures, or upload them to this blog.

I'm actually still running around, and trying to catch "me time", that I can dedicate to the blog, the gym and the movies. I'm not complaining, I've enjoyed my new job. Just wanted to explain my absence from Four Sisters, Four Styles.

Because this has been a huge change in lifestyle, I can't promise constant updates, but I will try.

The content of the blog might change a little, you'll probably find more food and wine pictures and less sister pictures (then again maybe not, it's always been a struggle to get them to participate in the blog, so those posts might stay the same).

But for my first post since this adventure started I though it would be a good idea to start with the inauguration. Be sure to check in later to see pictures of the construction, the food, the art and the history behind and the restaurant.

And yes, you guessed, the name is Margaritas Village
