Yet another update

No. We're not dead...

BUT I'M ALMOST DONE WITH SCHOOL.

Never thought it'd be this hard, but it was and my commencement is the 10th of June and I'm excited! After that I still have to work on rewrites but no more classes and since the goal was always to come back to comics after school was done, that's exactly what I'm going to do. This means The Fox Sister's moving from the bottom of my priorities back up to the top and finally, FINALLY, we're going to finish this puppy off!

Seventeen pages to go and then it's onto the next story!

So I hear a lot of you guys are curious about what's going on so I just want to explain.

As most of you know, I'm back in school working on my MFA in screenwriting at AFI. Well right now, I'm drowning in thesis. I'm sure you're like, "what does that mean" well let me tell you!

Basically, I'm working on a short film that's set to shoot in mid February. Because we're shooting in 3 weeks, I've spend the last few weeks massively working and reworking our script so that it's the best possible script it can be. On top of writing I've been doing major fund raising to actually shoot the film. AFI wants us to raise 65k which, as you can imagine, is a lot of money. We've raised 50k so far but still... we've got 15k to go. We can't do indiegogo or kickstarter (legal stuff with the school) so basically I've been writing individualized letters to people asking for money and then writing thank you cards to people who donate. This is all on top of writing a feature script last semester and plotting a Fox Sister pilot script for class. If that sounds crazy, yes, it is. I'm exhausted.

I've been wanting to come back to Fox Sister for a while now but until we lock this script, it's just not possible. The good news is that we lock script in like... two weeks so I'M ALMOST THERE!!!

Our thesis film is called In Pursuit and it's an action/comedy/relationship movie. Basically a cop chases after a fugitive on foot, the fugitive jumps into a getaway car, and so then the cop has to commandeer a vehicle to chase after the fugitive. But the movie isn't about the cop, it's about the two people who's car's taken by the cop. Two people who are new to LA because they've just driven to LA from New York and now they're now stuck in downtown Los Angeles with no car and no one to call for help. I promise it's going to be a lot of fun.

For those of you who don't know what AFI's program is like, it's... intense. The first few weeks of every year aren't on a consistent schedule and then when you finally do have a concrete schedule, it takes a few weeks to settle into it. Right now I have 4 classes at 8 am and to get to them on time I have to leave my house by 7:15am which means of course I have to get up around 6:30-6:45 almost every morning and I've been doing homework until 1-3am some nights. And it's crazy because most of my classes were in the late afternoon/night last year. Suffice it to say I'm still getting used to this schedule + the workload.

I'd like to be back up and running in the next two weeks, but I won't know for sure about it until after this weekend because I am swaaaaaaaaamped. I'll post something about when we're back soon.

Sorry guys. It's like I'm juggling 6 things right now and I'm barely keeping up.

Hey guys, school started back up for me this week and over the next two weeks things will be insane and I won't have normal/set schedule yet. I think early Sept is when I'm finally settled into a real routine so for now, we're off till Sept. 2.

So I'm back now. Last week I spent 3 days traveling via train and air to get back home and oh my god it's so nice to be sleeping in my own bed again. I was sick as a dog for a few days there but I'm alive and kicking now so we should be good. AND I have next week's page in hand already so there will for sure be a page next week.

Sorry about missing an upload last week. I was in Hong Kong last week and I'm in Shanghai this week so things are a bit crazy to say the least. Unfortunately, we apparently can't get on Fox Sister from China so we've had to VPN onto Jon's machine back home to even get on the site. UGH. FULLY FUNCTIONING INTERNET, HOW I MISS THEE. Anyway, the page is up a day early because it's Tuesday here and I figured why not. We should have a page a week for the next few weeks (as long as the internet doesn't foil my plans) so stay tuned!
