How to compress and convert any video or audio file using VLC

Hi Friends
Many of us uses VLC Media Player to see our videos and even listen to mp3 files although i just use it for videos only . The reason : it's free and support almost every video file . But many of us don't use and infact don't even know about about its hidden features . One of those hidden features is that you can convert any video file and make it of your desired size . Yes , you can . Although i am still to master this trick but i can show you a glimpse of it .

Open VLC Media Player
Select "wizard" from file menu
click on "Transcode/Save To file"
Click on "select a stream" and choose the video file that you want to convert . And if you don't know , you can even stream your desktop to create a screen-cast . Just google it if you want to know more about it .
Click on next
Now select the appropriate Video and audio codec options . Just kep a eye on the comments and most of the time the video and audio codec don't match . so it's quite possible that audio in video will be missing in your converted file . Also please note the encapsulation method suggested for e.g. MPEG PS . Your both the video and audio codec should support a common encapsulation method .
In the next options screen . Select the common encapsulation method of your audio and video codecs .
In the next options screen , enter the desired name for your converted file including the extension i.e. avi . With variety of codecs you can use other extensions too .
Now , in the next step , you will see vlc playing a mute audio file . Don't worry , it is not playing any file , infact it is now showing a progress bar .
Taararaaaa..... complete .

SaveBuckets - a new search engine for shopping

Hi friends
I just came across this new search engine for shopping , SaveBucket . Quite simple design i must say . The best feature that i really liked was that of comparing price and features . Although similar thing is also available on eBay but well then eBay is different type of website where things are sold by people , not eBay . eBay is not a store but a market place where anybody can come and open his/her shop , but it's upto you to decide to trust or not to trust that seller . While SaveBucket is like big shopping complex where only good stores are allowed to open their shops . SaveBuckets keeps a eye on the best selling products and list them on its frontpage . And even if i am not convinced of the price of any product , i can just set a email notification which will tell me if that product is available on my choice of price .

But it is our foremost responsibility to teach our foreigner friends on how to use indian toilets specially if they have stop to by some small railway station for attending nature's call on their nokia damaged by indian spices . Ok , so before you start thinking that this blog is dead Or this man only post sponsored posts .. i should tell you that you are wrong and i really apologize if you came to that conclusion . Well... i am back in blogging again . This winter vacations are going quite nice . I think , i can now call myself a professional PHP and ASP.NET developer . I did some very interesting work using PHP this winter whch i can't tell you right now . And learnt ASP.NET while making http://imom.in . Our NSIT Motorsports team is out of its dormancy resumed work for Mini Baja 2008 under the leadership of Nikhil Dewan sir . Ohh...gosh... i also have to update the site . Anyways , i am in steering dppt. this year . My friends Sid and Raman did some amazing job in robotics and sid is surely going to surprise you with his robotics circuits in his blog . BTW if you have a passion for formula car , you should my friend Ankit's blog , this guy is a champ . While half of my IT and COE friends are learning Linux , i am still not convinced to use it . No one is able to tell me any satisfy other than saying that it's free . And half of my MPAE (manufacturing and automation engg. ) is doing a same project under PRK sir . And now i am sitting idle . Hehe... few of my class mates daily keep a eye on my internet profiles just to check what i am doing so that they can too take advantage of any oppurtunity ... bada competitive jamaana hain . Hmm...what else is left about me... hmmm.. yeah... oh sorry .. cant tell .. thoda personal hain . Yeah.. we went to agra this winter .. seriously Bill Clinton rightly said "Taj is 10% history and 90% feelings." . Ok , First , i should clarify , we are not calling google but calling advertisers on Google Ads . Google has recently allowed Advertisers to receive potential clients to call them on their mentioned no. I haven't gone into details but ofcourse the call charges would surely have to be paid by advertisers . I tried making call , and it was quick . I just had to click on phone symbol on the advertisement and then it asked for my no. , i gave without any area code . And within 10 sec , my phone was showing a call from a no. "+4140 " (wht kind of no. it is :/ ). And ofcourse i didn't wanted to waste advertisers money so i hanged up .

Just discovered this amazing site which let you make amazingly cool videos . You just need to fill some images and a very creative video will come out to show off to your friends . JJ Abrams -- the man behind television sensation Lost -- is coming back with his new movie 1.18.08 a.k.a Cloverfield. This movie is big secret and trailor sems to have delibrately leaked as part of pre-screen publicity . Here is the description of the trailor

It starts off at a party in a loft in New York City for this guy around his mid-20's who's leaving (the city). It's filmed on home video cameras and looks just sort of like another independent drama comedy about this guy. This goes one for a little while when all of a sudden there's a big earthquake and people start to go a bit crazy and they all run up to the roof to see the lower half of Manhattan, and one of these buildings, erupt into a huge ball of fire after this unidentified object from the sky comes flying down and hits it. Then people really start to go crazy and the camera is dropped and blacks out. Then it comes back up and they're out running on the streets and all of a sudden this huge flaming object comes flying through the air and lands on the street and it's the ripped off head of the Statue of Liberty. You can hear this odd freaky roar in the background as more huge flaming/smoking things fly through the air and it ends with people running and screaming.

There is no title for the movie. It only shows "Produced by J.J. Abrams" and says "1.18.08″ and flashes the credit block of names for about a half second and that's it. Everyone in the audience basically just went "what the f**ck!" after it ended! It's insane…

Hi friends

Its really a long time when i last blogged . It was really a tough month . But excited one too .

Our NSITOnline.in got launched on which i have worked . Our whole team did a wonderful job on it , we received good response from whole college

Our site iMom too lgot aunched and thats not all , we even got featured on NDTV and also on many ePress sites like Alootechie

Me , Sid and Raman are making a robot for our annual tech fest innovision .

I had my mid-sems exams , and as you can very well guess , they were horrible . I hate electronics especially when things we are being tought are not at all related to our core study and not going to help us in any way .

I cleaned my computer today , deleted more than 90 GB. Now everything is in perfect order .

I wasted Rs.1100 on an online game , the result will declared on 29th , and i will be really kicking myself if i don't win that game . BTW , it wasn't my parents money , so i didn't told them

My attendance this semester is very very good in comparison to last year , my notes were almost complete :)

Now , i am going to develop a small website for a competition , sHHh.. a secret right now . Will reveal if i am able to make it .

My cousin's marriage is next week , will be busy in that .

Got Creative 2.1 woofer speakers , my neighbors are crying since then .
