Raw Pet Food CSA Host Program

For Southern California residents only. Want to host your own CSA pick-up location? Then try out our CSA Host Program. The minimum requirement is 50lbs of pet food per delivery week (that’s about 4-8 households). As a host, you get one free pound per delivery plus other goodies and bonuses from time-to-time such as fresh herbs and produce from our farm or friends’ farms. Any Foxy Treats products (treats, skin and coat supplement, etc.) can be added to the delivery.

Host Requirements:

1. 50lb minimum per delivery. Either weekly or bi-monthly.
2. A cool, shady, accessible spot to keep the cooler.
3. Location where members can easily park and pick up their boxes.
4. Email access for easy communication amongst members.

Host Responsibilities:

1. Sign up first members to establish the pick-up location.
2. Relay group correspondences to Foxy Treats.
3. Keep a clipboard with checklist and pen by the cooler on delivery day.
4. Store empty coolers, and put them out for the driver on the next delivery day.
5. Call/email any group members who have not picked up their order at end of the delivery day.
6. Handle any unclaimed orders by giving as a sample to a prospective member, shelter/foster group, or keep for yourself.

Except for the very first delivery, the host does not have to be present to receive deliveries as long as the spot is accessible to the driver.

Raw Food CSA Feeding Guidelines & Ingredients

Ingredients
SPRING FORMULA: Chicken, Beef, Lamb, or Ocean Fish* (including bone and organ meats for whole food nutrition); seasonal organic produce (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, kale, cabbage, golden zucchini, strawberries), sprouted organic green and red lentils, sprouted organic adzuki beans, sprouted organic mung beans, sprouted organic amaranth, organic hemp hearts, organic Fair Trade cinnamon (ethyl oxide free), nutritional yeast (GMO free), and fresh turmeric from Foxy Treats Farm.
SUMMER FORMULA: Chicken, Beef, Lamb, or Ocean Fish* (including bone and organ meats for whole food nutrition); seasonal organic produce (string beans (green, yellow, and/or purple), golden zucchini, cauliflower, carrots, kale, cabbage, strawberries), sprouted organic green and red lentils, sprouted organic adzuki beans, sprouted organic mung beans, sprouted organic amaranth, organic hemp hearts, organic Fair Trade cinnamon (ethyl oxide free), nutritional yeast (GMO free), and fresh turmeric from Foxy Treats Farm.

Feeding Guidelines:
Adults (1yr and older): feed approx. 2-3% of your dog’s total body weight per day. May be split up into two or three meals. Feed more or less depending on your dog’s age, breed, and activity level.
Puppies (under 1yr): feed approx. 10% of the puppy’s total body weight per day. May be split up into two or three meals. Feed more or less depending on your puppy’s age, breed, and activity level.

Feeding Recommendations:
Defrost only what you need for the next day or two. Remove patties from paper and defrost in fridge, over night, in a stainless steel or glass bowl/container. Portion and serve in either stainless steel or ceramic food bowl. Follow the same food safety guidelines as you would for yourself and family. Questions? Email customersupport@foxytreats.com

*The Ocean Fish variety is naturally rich with fish oil. There is an aroma as a result, and it is normal.

Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a weekly and bi-monthly raw pet food subscription that supports local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen including Foxy Treats Farm. We offer 4 varieties with seasonal organic produce: Lamb, Beef, Chicken, and Ocean Fish. We source only humanely raised grass-fed and pastured meats, and sustainably caught ocean fish (local halibut, local rockfish, and organic certified Shetland salmon). The food is delivered to your preferred pick-up location, and comes frozen in 2lb containers. Custom formulas and quantities available upon request. An eclectic group of local artisans came together Friday night to showcase their wares and talents at the Lavender Lounge Tea Company in San Clemente. We had a truly wonderful time enjoying delicious food and the company of great friends; new and old.

Kate Murray, Miss Sushi San Diego, is a sushi superstar! Her slogan says it all, she’s a “sushi bar where you are!”

Special thanks to Bad to the Bone BBQ (San Juan Capistrano) for the most delicious Carolina-style pulled pork sliders! Phenomenal smokiness!

Daisy’s Big Day!

On October 16, 2011 our beloved Daisy, a Nubian dairy goat, had the great honor of being spokes-goat and official greeter for Heifer International‘s “Golfing for Goats” Tournament at Mission Trails Golf Course in San Diego. Daisy loved getting her head scratched by the wonderful tournament participants and Heifer International volunteers.

While at the golf course, Daisy had two surprise visitors bearing a most wonderful gift…

Delicious! But it doesn't taste like baby's breath...

The excitement didn’t end there! After devouring that scrumptious bunch of roses, Daisy was loaded into the trailer once more to make a surprise visit herself. Before heading back to the farm, Daisy delighted patrons and vendors alike at the Rancho Santa Fe Farmer’s Market sponsored by Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Raquel, the market manager, fell in love with Daisy...and it looks like Loic may have as well...

So much goatie love at the market...
