I've discussed several times already what I will be getting her, but I think I've finally decided. I was going to go with a Nook or Kindle, but I think I'm opting for something with a little more meaning. I was thinking about Grandma the other day and remembered how she always wore a gold cross. No matter when you saw her, she was always wearing it. It was gold and had the birthstones of all her children attached to it. I was thinking how great it would be if I got my mother something like that. It would be something she could wear everyday, and it would be super meaningful! So glad I thought of Grandma! She definitely helped me out! Thanks, Grams!

A Fashionable Reward

I've been on a weight loss journey for a few months now. Over the last few months I have lost 22 pounds. The weight loss has caused my clothes to hang off my body. My pants can literally be taken down without unbuttoning them. I've decided that as a reward I will be buying some new fashion clothes when I reach 40 pounds lost. By then I will really need them anyway, so it's a perfect reward! I'm really looking forward to clothes shopping. I haven't been able to buy anything fashionable in many years. I'm so excited!

Birthday Presents!

I never would of thought buying a gift for a 13 year old boy could be so hard?! Boy, was I wrong. My nephew's birthday is coming up in just a few short weeks, and I haven't a clue as to what to get him. I asked his mom, and of course she said.. "it doesn't matter, he'll like anything." Hmm...not the most helpful..lol. After much deliberation I think I've decided to go with a yoyojam atmosphere. For those that don't know, there is no motorized transportation on the island, it's pretty much just bikes and horse drawn carriages, which is pretty neat. The kids have never been there, and I'm sure they would love it! Maybe it's time I start planning! :)

Birthday Hints

I've been trying to give my boyfriend a few hints as to what I would like for my birthday that is coming up next weekend, so far I don't think he's really getting it. I think he just thinks I'm weird now. I'm sure whatever he gets me will be lovely, and he doesn't really have to get me anything at all, but it would be nice.. I'm not going to lie. So I'm rather worried about that. I found out I have a meeting with my son's new Kindergarten teacher, that poor woman..lol. I love my son, but he's a nightmare at times. Good luck to her! lol! Times have changed.

Kids today are having some lavish parties. Personalized invitations, awesome favor bags, a complex menu. Some parents are even buying disneyland tickets and treating the entire party to a fun filled day at the California resort. I can't even imagine how happy those kids must be.

My daughter is 8 years old and the perfect age to go to Disneyland. She's been mentioning it off and on for a couple years now, as most kids her age do. I'm hoping that I'll be able to take her one day. I can't even imagine how big the smile on her face would be. That is definitely something I have to see one day. Not to mention, that I myself, have never been to Disneyland, and would absolutely love to go! Anyone else have a Disney memory? Care to share? I'm trying to think of things to do that would keep them entertained. There's not a whole lot to do around this town, but there are a few shops downtown. One of them sells hats. Hats for Men, women, and children. They have a variety of different things, including funny novelty type hats, so I thought that might be fun. You know funny pics would be taken, for sure! LOL! There's also a gift shop and fudge store. Everyone loves fudge, so that's a must on the list of things to do. What else is there to do? I think we'll be renting a lot of movies! LOL!

Medication Troubles

My brother has been battling a testosterone problem for a while now. He's been on several medications and nothing has seemed to work all that well. I suggested he look into a couple different things and one was progene side effects. I'm hoping he takes my advice. It's definitely affecting his health already, mostly in the form of weight gain. I hate to see him struggle with his weight, when he's always been on the athletic side. Not only does the weight gain affect his health, but it also affects his confidence. That is something that I really hate to see, so I hope he gets the right medication soon! Anyone have any suggestions?

Carnival Time!

My daughter is all excited about the big Trout Festival that is coming up in our town. The town has been getting ready for a while now. Doing the usual spring maintenance. She saw a local county worker checking and changing the fire hose fittings on a hydrant the other day. They were getting ready to flush the lines out. Well the water sprayed out, and you would of thought it was one of the Seven Wonders of the World to her..lol. I can't wait to see what she thinks about the street sweeper. It's all fun to her... but the thing she's looking forward to the most is the carnival. She loves the rides and games! Last year she got to see her mom ride the Ferris wheel for the first time. Space

My boyfriend will be moving into my house in a few short months. As much as I'm looking forward to it, I'm also dreading the occasion. Why, you ask? Because our house is small, and with him, comes all his stuff. Some of his things will be going to storage, as there is just not room for every single thing. There are things that he will not want to put in storage, like his couch, video games, tv and mackie speaker. Those are a few of things that he really enjoys. Finding room for just those few things is going to prove to be difficult. I will, because I know it's important, but it's going to test my organizational skills, for sure! LOL! Any tips on fitting a lot of things into a small space?

Children!

Why do they insist on pushing your buttons?! Mine have been home from their Dad's for about two and a half hours and are already on my last nerve. Fighting, bickering, not listening. It can also boast that it charges the highest real estate and property taxes in the country. Looking at these stats you would think, “Crowded and expensive. No thanks!” but obviously that’s not the opinion of the 7.5 million people who live there. So what’s the big deal about the little island? It’s a place of movement. People may commute to their jobs in the city, but more and more small business owners are taking their business to the highway, the information highway that is. Libn.com reports that “mobile Web usage is absolutely exploding. In less than three years, more people will access the Internet via mobile devices than from desktop computers. This shift in consumer behavior has huge upside implications for small businesses.” With this kind of turn, it is imperative that business owners education themselves on the connection possibilities they have. For example, Long Island T1 providers give exclusive network connections to small businesses allowing them the face to face and mobile office options they need to meet the modern demands in the area.

Girly Girl? Maybe!

I find it funny that I traded one motorcycle loving neighbor, for another..lol. This one doesn't build bikes, but rather likes to ride them. She (yes, she!) has lots of people stopping over that ride also. I've always wondered how well those little slipstreamer windshields work for protecting you against the elements. By elements, I'm of course referring to bugs..lol. I think the first time I was hit by a bug, would be my last time riding a motorcycle. I don't do bugs. I never thought I was a girly girl, but maybe I am? lol!

A Funny!

This totally sums me up. Anyway, I have to do some Easter shopping and I'm also going to be buying some new wolverine boots for my boyfriend, and I was thinking since he's getting new boots, I should be able to get some new shoes. It's only fair, right? Yes. So, I'm going to be looking into new walking shoes this week. I've been working out about 4 times a week, and my feet are really taking a beating. Although I love the sympathy foot rubs I've been getting... I really just need new shoes..lol! Any suggestions?

Lazy Day

Today was kind of a lazy today. I pretty much just surfed the internet all day looking at fitness things, getting some price ideas for industrial supplies for my boyfriend, and the fun thing....looking at toys for Easter. I'm thinking that they might get a wagon. That was after hours of looking at bikes, and deciding that I probably couldn't afford that.... err.. the Easter bunny couldn't afford that, I mean..lol! I think on Saturday I'll be going out and buying the stuff, that should be a fun trip. I haven't been shopping in a while...or out by myself for that matter. It should be fun. For now though, I'm back to surfing the internet..lol!

A Little Weird

I have a weird 8 year old daughter. Most young girls are interested in the Disney channel, Justin Beiber, the Jonas Brothers....all those teeny bopper things. Not my daughter though. If you hand over the remote control to MY daughter, she will turn on River Monsters, Big Foot Hunters, Big Cat Diary, and will let out a huge squeal when Animal Cops comes on...lol! I can't say I'm disappointed at all, it's less Disney Channel I have to watch..lol!

Spring Break Fun!

My friend is on her way to Las Vegas for a well deserved Spring break trip. She has a couple kids that she plays supermom to, so this will be a great weekend for her to relax with the girls. Her boys are going to their Dad's for the week, and last I knew were shopping for new burton snowboards. I told them, "you know it's Spring Break, right?" You're supposed to be enjoying the warm spring weather, not still playing in snow..lol. They are going to have a blast though. I'm jealous. I could really use a vacation. I'm just happy someone is having fun though, even if it's not me!

Happy Spring!

So just 2 short weeks ago there was a massive amount of snow on the ground, leftover from a snow storm where we received 25 inches of snow in just over a day. Yesterday it was 85 degrees...and there is no snow left! That is Michigan weather for you! lol! You can never count on anything. This is by far the warmest and earliest spring that I can remember. It's also the weirdest winter I can ever recall, being that we didn't really get any snow til the middle of January. Our winter was really only about a month and a half long this year. That's MY kind of winter! LOL! Happy Spring everyone!

Older, Wiser, and Healthier?

My brother recently started taking Hormone replacement therapy for a low testosterone level. I did a little research for him beforehand, and I'm glad that he decided to go ahead with it. I think he's going to feel much better eventually. He's also hoping it might aid him in losing a little weight. We've both committed ourselves to losing weight again, about 50 lbs each. We are all about getting healthy these days. I guess that's what happens when you get older. lol! You get wiser and realize that you want to be healthy and live as long as you can.
