It includes my poem, "Last Day of Childhood, Nearly Thirteen," along with my bio and a requested statement of "Why I Write." I'm honored that the editors published the poem and thrilled they ended their Editor's Notes with my "Why I Write" statement. Many thanks to everyone at Blood Orange Review. Read the rest of the issue because it's awesome.

I was going to write a really clever and funny post about New Years and New Years...
Yes, they include two of my poems. But my poems are accompanied by (or accompany) a number of other great poems you should read.

Here is the link for Stirring Volume 13, Edition 3: March 2011, which includes my poem "My First Roach Job" and four other killer poems (plus a great short story). (and here's hoping I remember to update the link when these go into the archives)

Good riddance.

The weather is starting to warm up in Toledo and rain is on its way. Hopefully, this will get rid of the ice and snow that has covered Northwest Ohio for the past week. Bring on March, but let's have no lions. Only lambs.

But February hasn't been all bad. In fact, it's been a pretty good month as a writer. I have lots of work in the work, lots forthcoming.

Keep your eyes on Red Lion Sq, which has the incredible tag line "Poetry that speaks." This...
I got quite a bit done, though certainly not everything that was on my to-do list. And I had to shovel a lot of snow, though (thankfully) not as much as my New York friends.

I wrote a lot. Revised a lot of poems I'd been wanting for a while to really sit down with and I managed to start five new poems. Many thanks to Mr. Frost and to Neon's founder and editor, Krishan Coupland.

An excerpt:

"[N]o amount of labels can define Frame's view of the world. That's what Paper Guillotines is for, and it does the job admirably. So these poems have messages, but they're not message-poems. They stand up for themselves."
