Quickly define a word.

In the Google search box, type define:word, changing word to whatever it is you want to define. For example, to find the definition for bibliophile, type define:bibliophile and press enter.

Track packages.

You can easily track a UPS, Fedex or USPS package by typing (or copying and pasting) the tracking number directly into Google’s search box, and hitting enter.

Check the weather and time for any city or zip code.

Check the local weather anywhere by typing weather “zip code” in the search box. So to check Franklin’s weather, search for weather”16323″.

It’s easy to check the time for any city in the world. Type time “city” in the Google search box, and the current time will display at the top of your search results.

Check flight status.

Enter an airline and flight number into the Google search box, and the results will display that flight’s arrival and departure times. So, to see if Jet Blue flight #4213 is arriving on time, you would search for Jet Blue 4213.

Calculate numbers.

Google has a built-in calculator. To use the calculator, type any calculation into the the search box and press Enter. For example, you could calculate 10+(4*20) or 1.4*2.890 or something as simple as 2013-33.

There are even more features available in the Google search box; a complete list is available on Google’s Search Features page.

For helpful information about how to more effectively use Google to search the World Wide Web (Do I need quotes around this? Does capitalization matter? What does “I’m Feeling Lucky” mean?), visit Google’s Web Search Help Center. We guarantee you’ll learn something new that will help you become a better Googler.

Let us know in the comments, do you have a favorite search trick?
