'The time has come,' the Walrus said..

I'll say that as well. I started this blog July 25, 2006. I had no idea where I was going with it, or what I was really doing. I just knew that I had an appreciation of Lingerie beyond what most then-college guys did. Not just as sensual, although there was that. Especially when looking at it on my then-girlfriend, now I'm happy and proud to say, Mrs. U.

If that type of thrill is the only one you've taken away from fufL, then I guess I've failed. But the number of times I've exchanged a comment or email with someone who thanked me for 'keeping it classy' by doing a non-nude blog celebrating Lingerie tells me I wasn't the only one who was looking for that idea.

There are now far more sites centered around Lingerie than when I started. I've sometimes felt I was becoming a dinosaur as a little non-profit fan blog, since so many people were doing much more than I.

So, why end things now? Well, I've been considering it for sometime. The number of other blogs and tumblrs doing what I started to do is staggering. I never put this blog here to make a penny or sell anything. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just did it as a hobby, and if anyone tagged along, great. In that sense, I'm amazed and gratified by the readers and all who've commented or contacted me otherwise.

Real-life is still where I live. This blog takes more time than I'd like it to take. I'd rather leave while it's a happy memory than a chore. Not that I don't have a stock-pile of ideas for posts, but there are other personal reasons. You can guess some; you'd never guess the others.

I also wonder if hobby/fan sites like this, which helped build a lot of the Internet's traffic (yes, I know full-well baser things helped), will be a quaint memory someday. I hope not.

Thanks to wonderful people like Treacle at The Lingerie Addict, Slip at A Slip of a Girl, Ally Teal at Guilty Pleasures and Bilkoscans who've been inspirations to me, and to Cora (Treacle) for kindly saying once or twice that when she was first looking on-line for some inspiration, she found it here. To be clear, I can take no credit for what she's accomplished, which is major, but the sentiment is appreciated.

To Mrs. U, the Love of My Life: Thank you most of all for being someone who shared my passion for this, who could've had a quite different reaction than you did when I first showed you this blog, and who enjoyed riding shotgun with me. One failure I do claim is that I never convinced you to write a single post, but thanks for helping me choose the photos you did. Love you!

Notice I haven't said Goodbye. frankufotos Lingerie as a blog is going away, but even if I'm not posting anything here, I'll be around reading other blogs and putting in an occasion two cents as time allows. I may even repost some of my previous essays (rants) here in the future. Another thing I'm considering is Sharing much more of what I see on the now-dormant fufL Facebook page, so check there on occasion. I'll still be on Twitter, (Thanks, Followers) though maybe Retweeting more than anything else.
